We had a very nice time staying in this home for a week. It had a very home type atmosphere with a great vibe. Nice semi-covered patio/porch area with a great view of a small valley full of trees. Lots of windows throughout the entire residence. Fantastic master bathroom! Very convenient location within reach of downtown Spearfish Main Street within a minute by car and 5 minutes on foot. Great place!!!
This apartment was nothing like the listing. The air conditioning, washing machine, and blinds were all broken. The place was dirty, with stained furniture and even blood on the towels. We left after only a few hours and had to pay for a new place ourselves. The host stopped responding and Vrbo has done nothing so far. Avoid this listing and beware of the false advertising.
We had a great stay the house is roomy very clean excellent view close to downtown and just a wonderful place to stay. Thank you very much for the experience.
We visited Spearfish with our family to spend thanksgiving in a place that allowed for peace and space to celebrate together. The home was lovely and full of the joy of a real home while offering the spectacular views and grounded comfort uncommon in most rentals. We recommend a visit and the investment of time in this beautiful part of the country. So much to see and do to rekindle your soul. Thanks !!!
We were looking for a place to relax for about three nights and this place was perfect. We spent more time on the back patio then anywhere in the house. The view was perfect. You could also sit and watch the storms role in down the valley. Location was close to down town. We could walk to the City Park. We would stay here again during any summer trip.
The home was, well homey and the view off the deck was amazing. It was a little awkward though because the home felt cluttered and a little too homey for a VRBO. It was clear that the family just leaves for the rental period but it felt intrusive to look for towels or things in the kitchen as all of the owner's things are there- food in the cupboards, personal items in the bathroom and even mail in the mailbox when you get the key from it. It felt a little uncomfortable at times- we didn't want to go through their things but had to look for things we needed that weren't left in plain view. There was also concern that part of the deck is blocked off for safety reasons. Overall it would be great for adults but families may struggle with worries that children might get into things like hygiene items or medications
The property was fabulous, Cindy (our host) was above and beyond. We had never been to Spearfish and we went to a wedding there. Would definitely stay there again!!!
We *loved* our stay in Spearfish, this property backs up to the canyon providing GORGEOUS views and was perfect for our fall break stay. We loved being so close to the canyon that we could come home midday for a lunch break, then head back out to explore.
We loved
*seeing mountain goats every time we drove up the canyon
*hiking Devil's Bathtub, Spearfish falls and Roughneck falls
*easy access to shop for groceries and cook in the fully stocked kitchen
*beautiful spacious rooms to spread out and have personal time to decompress
*the soaking tub in the master bath
*breathtaking views from the wall of windows on the back of the house
*no chores on checkout - so nice to be able to leave easily on our last day before traveling home
Our family of 5 loved this trip and would gladly come back again and again.
Beautiful property with easy access to Northern Hills sites. The property was everything we could have wantedâŠeasily accessible and many amenities! Thank you so much!
Fantastic property, easy check-in/check-out, and very clean and comfortable. The backyard patio and view are amazing!!! Highly recommend staying here and Cindy was great with communication and an awesome host! Thank you Cindy!!
This was our central location for everything we wanted to see in the Rapid City area before we headed for Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Our only problem was our own self inflicted busyness which meant we didn't have time to relax and enjoy the views at this house. When we finally made it to the city of Spearfish on our last night, we were super close to town and got to enjoy the end of a concert they were having in the street where there were inflatables and lots of activities for kids. We wish we had had time to enjoy the deck at the house. The views were amazing. The house had plenty of towels and washcloths, tissues, toilet paper, etc. There was wine and some snacks waiting for us that unfortunately we also didn't have time to enjoy. (Again, my own fault for keeping us so busy!) We did get to use all the water they had pre-chilled for us in the fridge though! Thanks for sharing your house with us!!
We spent a long weekend in this home. I could have spent several weeks. It is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. I highly recommend staying here unless you have small children. This is not a great property for toddlers. There are stairs to fall down and too many things to get into.
Our children drew us to the Black Hills. Our son graduated from Black Hills State University and our daughter married a local fellow and both settled in the beautiful Black Hills with their families. We came to love the area too and here we are! David is semi retired and doing project management and construction projects, and I am retired, my most recent career choice was TSP, Inc., an Architectural and Engineering firm. Our hobbies mostly center around our 3 children and 8 grandchildren, 5 of whom live in Spearfish, and 3 who live in Casper, WY. When we aren't attending functions and activities involving our family, we can often be found sitting on our deck in the warm months and the sunroom in the cold months, enjoying a glass of wine.
This home is very inviting and homey. It offers every comfort with a beautiful view and is close to the many sites and sounds of the Black Hills, from site seeing to skiing to learning the fascinating history of the area.
