We stayed at Serenade Shores for 5 nights, 20-25 October 2025, and had a great time. The location is very convenient and while staying there we took a number of day trips. We went to Lake Junaluska, Brevard, Hendersonville, and Greenville South Carolina. We had a lot of great food including some top bakery. The home was very comfortable with 2 master suites, bathrooms in suite. We very much enjoyed âPorch Therapyâ in the evenings and woke up to misty mountain mornings. Colleen was a superb host who was very responsive when we had text communication. Serenade Shores was a 5 Star experience for us in every way! This was our second visit and we plan to come again!
We couldnât be happier with our experience staying here. We had no issue getting there or getting into the house. It was exceptionally clean and smelled pleasant without smelling overpoweringly of cleaners or scents. We appreciated that the owners provided all the basic necessities for cooking (especially basic spices and aluminum foil.) The beds were very comfortable. Everything felt very clean and unlived in, but it was still welcoming and homey, so we felt settled in immediately. The view is spectacular. It unfortunately rained for most of our trip, so we werenât able to make use of the fire pits, but we still enjoyed having the beautiful pond and little waterfall area. The indoor fireplace served as a lovely alternative. Our niece who visited us during our stay loved playing up in the loft. The loft was private enough and had a direct, fairly private route to a bathroom that I would have felt comfortable sleeping there if we had 3 couples staying at the house. The only thing we would have changed would have been a little more seating in the living room. A loveseat or chair with an ottoman instead of the occasional chair would be perfect. We loved that our dog was welcome and could tell the owners are dog lovers too. We hope to revisit again soon!
We had a great stay here! The property and the house is beautiful! We enjoyed fishing and caught several fish. The house had everything we needed and more! We highly recommend staying here.
This is our second time to this property. We love the location and amenities. The surroundings are so peaceful! We visited nearby towns and wineries. Everything was open for business and people really appreciated our patronage. The property has so many nice touches and comforts! Check in and check out were a breeze. We will be back!
My Husband and I stayed 3 nights in this beautiful home.
The description and photos were exactly as described, only better! Exceptionally clean! We had everything we needed and then some. The beds were very comfortable.
We loved the deck and rocking chairs. We sat there every morning while we had our coffee and enjoyed the solitude. The pond was so pretty and peaceful. The grass had just been cut and the grounds were well maintained. We were able to walk around the pond. My husband did a little fishing (didn't catch anything but he enjoyed trying). The property is very private. We never saw anyone! The location was perfect for out activities.
We loved staying here and will definitely book again.
Thank you so much!

We had a great weekend at the house. Very relaxing area and quiet. Beautiful land. The pond was great and our kids enjoyed fishing (they caught a few bass and tons of bluegills). The house was in great shape, very clean, and stocked with all the supplies we needed.
Our 12 night stay was exceptional! High quality furnishings and appliances. Colleen was very responsive to any questions and check in was super easy. The house had everything we needed and was immaculate. We all enjoyed the porch with the peaceful view of the pond, although my husband didnât have much luck fishing. Access to both Brevard and Hendersonville was less than 20 minutes and both towns were charming. We would suggest some sort of anti skid tape/guard for the last step from the loft.
Y our home was absolutely awesome!
It was spacious and inviting. The furniture and beds were very comfortable. We used the porch everyday to watch the fish, turtles, and birds. We enjoyed watching the rain while sitting on the porch too. The inside of you home was very open. We are all glad that you shared your home with us and allowed us to spend a great weekend away.
If you are looking for time away from the rat race and want a lovely serene setting, then this is the place. You can spend an entire week there without seeing another soul. Not that is what we did with all the fantastic restaurants and sights, but it can be done. We went into Asheville numerous times as well as Hendersonville and Brevard. All have something to offer. The home it self was spacious, but the huge porch and rockers made the place. Even in the pouring rain, the porch was the place to be!!!!
Colleen was a superb host and attended to our needs. Always quick with a response.
Only thing missing for the ladies was a full length mirror. Will definitely go back.
Beautiful and serene setting. House was perfect for four adults and a 17 year old who loved the loft! We used the grill, ate lots of meals on the porch, walked our dog around the pond and listened to the frogs on the pond. Kitchen was ample. In house washer and dryer. Beds were comfortable. We had a peaceful time- just what we wanted!
Peaceful location, everything in working order, no clutter, helpful area resource material, lovely deck overlooking pond, everything needed was provided, good communication with hosts.
Serenade Shores is a convenient location that feels like youâre away from it all! The cabin and property were amazing and the host was outstanding. Couldnât ask for more and hope to visit again soon!
This place in an awesome little oasis just outside of Brevard, and a short drive to Hendersonville. Super close to many of the trails in DuPont Park. Very nice place with many of the little things you donât often find: lots of dish towels, plenty of TP & paper towels, shampoo & conditioner. There were even dog bowls in the pantry.
This was our third time staying at this property. We keep coming back because it encompasses everything we are looking for; beautiful & clean home, fully stocked kitchen appliances and the most amazing outdoor space. Plenty of room for our kids and dogs to run and explore. We will be back a fourth time!
This was our first time staying in this particular rental. The location was fantastic, 10 out of 10. We base this on the proximity to all the things we wanted to do (hiking in the Dupont and Pisgah Forests, breweries, and the Blue Ridge Parkway), proximity to a grocery store, and the ease to drive to the rental (ie. no crazy, steep drive up a mountain). Also, the home is well appointed with 2 king size beds, each with an en suite bathroom, which was perfect with 2 couples staying in the rental. Lastly, the fact that they allowed our dog to stay was the icing on the cake. The home had all the basics covered (kitchen appliances, washer and dryer and internet access) plus more. And the peace and quiet of the location was just what we craved (4 + acres with a pond and the nearby French Broad River). We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the area of Brevard or Hendersonville as it is convenient to both.
Very clean, well equipped Cabin. High end finishes and appliances. Pond had a well maintained path all the way around it making it easy to walk around. Beds slept wonderfully! Large panty allows you to store your stuff out of the way. Offers lots of privacy. Host was very responsive before our arrival. Did not need anything once we arrived other than groceries and the Ingles was close by. By far the best VRBO rental weâve experienced so far as far as making your stay hassle free. Very, very peaceful and quiet, heard no traffic noise while inside cabin. Appreciated how much thought went into making it accommodating and welcoming.
This is one of the best rental properties we have stayed at. It was super-clean, and both the layout of the house and the location were great. We especially enjoyed morning walks around the pond. We usually did a few laps in order to satisfy our dog! While the location feels very remote, it's a fairly short drive to downtown Brevard and also the beautiful waterfalls of Dupont Forest.
We had no real criticisms, but here are a few things to know that might help other visitors:
*the stairs up to the porches are few in number but fairly steep. Good to know if someone in your party has issues navigating stairs.
*the pillows and mattress pad were fairly squishy on our bed. We would have preferred something firmer, but that's a matter of persona taste.
*there was a limited number of paper items, for example, only one box of tissues in each suite, one extra roll of paper towels in the kitchen, etc. Probably enough for most stays, but we did end up buying some extras on a trip to the local grocery store.
All in all, we were extremely pleased with the property and plan to book again at some point!
We have planned a trip to the Biltmore, and wanted a place that was comfortable and quiet. This was certainly the place to be. Nice location among things we like to do such as shopping, eating, and sightseeing. First time by a pond, and absolutely loved it. Even caught a fish that I let go. We will definitely be back because we want to check out some hidden treasures.
Everything about this property either met or exceeded expectations. It was even nicer in person than in the pictures! We had an amazing stay with our dog Ruby, who I can tell already misses her morning frolics on the property. Already planning our next trip back.
Amazing property. Tucked away in the woods, yet close to so many rivers, trails, and towns. We used this property as basecamp during a recent fly fishing trip, and it was perfect! Can't wait till or next visit.
Wonderful home with privacy and peaceful surroundings! Second visit and we plan on next year staying again! Easy to book and communication with host is excellent! Highly recommend this place!
I've been vacationing in NC annually for over 20 years and have never experienced a rental as fantastic as this one. The house and property are like new. Everything is spotless and functional. The property is very convenient to shopping and restaurants and is very private. My family asked me to reserve it again for next Fall. The lake is full of fish. I caught numerous decent Bass to include an eight pounder. Hopefully I'll catch him again next Fall.
We have lived in the Asheville area since 2004. We moved here to be close to all the outdoor activities we love! We are mountain bikers and also enjoy hiking the area trails with our two dogs. Colleen is a full-time Realtor and Chris is retired from the YMCA. We have several long-term rental properties and have operated a successful vacation rental, Serenade Cove, since 2008. This is our second vacation rental and the first home we have ever had custom designed and built.
When the opportunity to buy this land was offered to us, we jumped at it! We started construction on the home in 2018 and finished in January 2019. We love this location because it is so close to the outdoor attractions we frequent: Pisgah National Forest, Dupont State Forest, the French Broad and Davidson rivers, and the wonderful downtown areas of Brevard and Hendersonville.
We designed the home to offer two comfortable, identically-sized bedrooms with en-suite baths for couples and families. The loft offers additional sleeping space with a queen-sized platform bed and a foldout Serta loveseat which converts to a full-sized bed (no bar). The gathering space is an open concept kitchen/dining/living area with a vaulted ceiling and stone fireplace. There is also a mud room/laundry room just inside the back door. Two sets of sliding glass doors open onto a large covered deck for enjoying the pond view, listening to the waterfall and breathing the fresh mountain air.
