We stayed at the bunk house over Labor Day weekend. Our six children and the two of us adults had plenty of room to move around. The games were a hit! Plenty of space to park our boat. Gravel roads lead to the bunkhouse so if you store your bags in your boat they will get dusty (speaking from experience). We went to church Sunday in Platte, which was very close. Geddes is also very close; we went to supper at their steakhouse one evening. It's a great place, with lots of room, and close to the boat dock! We will be back.
This is a great property for a large group of people. It became the centralized places for everyone to hang out when the weather didnât cooperate. Please note (and it does say this on the property description) that there is no cooktop in this property. There is a grill and a griddle, but no actual cooktop or oven. I missed reading that when I made the reservation. Thereâs virtually no WiFi, which is a good thing, when youâre trying to vacation. We had a blast and really enjoyed this property.
This place is really great and it worked great for what we needed it for. It's super close to the boat dock! Super cute decor inside and something for all ages! A couple helpful suggestions though. We rented this bunkhouse mainly because it looked easily accessible and all on one floor. 3 people from our party has ALD and have troubles getting around. They were unable to get into any of the beds. They were just absolutely way too high to lift their legs to. So they slept on the couch and 2 recliners. Which sucks because they were paying guests. Second, may want to update or fix the cooking equipment inside since there isn't an oven/stove. The handles are broke on the big griddler. Also, whoever was before us forgot to turn off the propane tank on the grill outside & it was completely empty. So another thing we couldn't cook with. Whoever cleans may want to make sure they are looking at this so all guests can use everything promised and paid for. This is not entirely the hosts fault, but the guys renting the house across the driveway (the neighbors across the road said its the same host) had a very hard time sharing the space. The one guy that said he was in charge in their group even told us to be respectful of them and shut all f*ing lights off outside so they can get a full nights rest. He also cussed out my husbands friend that he f*ed up the outlet in the garage and his boat didn't charge, and then told us to have respect and not park in certain areas.
