Nice and quiet location, stores and restaurants close by. Bathroom could use some TLC (wallpaper, door). All in all, it was very nice spending vacation time at this property.
Cottage located in convenient, quiet, and secluded location in Eastham. Very clean and had most amenities (was sure to bring own coffee maker, spices, paper products, coffee, groceries, and beach chairs). The beds could have been softer, but had more than enough pillows and blankets! The porch was super roomy with ample seating and a huge picnic table! Enjoyed a car/walking tour of Cape Cod which was very informative and interesting! Would definitely return!
Great location for accessing Nat'l Seashore and bayside beaches. Close to Orleans and Wellfleet for groceries and shopping. We enjoyed eating on the screened in porch. There was a closet with lots of games for the kids to play. The kitchen appliances (coffee maker and toaster) and the bathroom could use some upgrades (tub enclosure primarily). The stackable washer and dryer had a good capacity for washing beach towels during the week. All linens and bath towels were provided, which was nice.
The place was a bit dated and needed some updates. Beds were comfy, kitchen was fine. The couch smelled awful and we had to put blankets on it to sit.
Overall a good experience
This rental was perfect for having a place to sleep, eat, and clean up between beach days. Everything was provided (kitchen sponges + soap, travel-sized shampoo + conditioner, towels, etc.) and the house was left very clean. There were air conditioners in every room. The location is great too, close to bayside beaches and good restaurants along route 6. Overall, I highly recommend this house and would absolutely stay here again!
First, the cleaning gals were still there when we arrived at 4:30. Didn't get in until 4:50. The screen on front door is ripped, bugs can come in. The smoke alarm goes off daily.....and during the night a couple times ! Not good. Very annoying of course, can't sleep. Check battery and electrical system as the light over the kitchen sink and the smaller bedroom ceiling light don't always work. They go on and off intermittently. The tv was set on Spanish, so did the gals leave it that way? And we couldn't figure out how to change it. Need clear instructions, written. The brown recliner chair is Broken. CANNOT be used. The jungle outside needs to be trimmed back and a marker for the property with the number 2550 should be on it. Several times we had trouble finding the driveway and at night it was even worse. The coffee pot is not the one that came with the coffee maker. It wouldn't shut off automatically when full, hence coffee spilling! Otherwise the place was very nice, clean and enjoyable.
I liked this house. It was the perfect amount of space for the 4 of us. It was close to beaches and restaurants and only a half hour from P town. The screened porch was nice. I must say there were many âquirksâ to this house however they did give us some laughs. Overall a nice spot to get away.
First of all let me start by saying the house was very neat and clean. I have never stayed in a VRBO rental that had no written instruction inside the home, for instance where to put the trash, how to work the TV's and so on and so on. They advertised that there would be laundry detergent, Paper towels and toilet paper available. There was only toilet paper. The home was freezing when we got in from our 3 and a half hour drive. Knowing we were coming in, one would think the heat could have been turned on for us but NO. AGAIN NO INSTRUCTION ABOUT THE HEAT. We had to discover on our own that there was a thermostat for each room after coming back from the grocery store where we had to pick up supplies to find the bathroom and bedrooms still cold. I have just never had this experience with VRBO. Also, it showed a screened in porch where my husband and I planned to have morning coffee and to relax in the evening, only to get there and find all of the screens removed and you couldn't even get out the door to use the porch because the table (I assume) was still in storage and up against the door so you couldn't get out. Not good in case of a fire. I understand this is probably more a summer rental, but if you're going to charge good money to stay there in March it should have been prepared.
The house was spotless and all the kitchen things we needed were there. The screened in porch was a cool place to use in the evenings for our dinner and card games. The TV in bedroom was not used because we did not travel to the cape to watch TV! But the house was good for the 2 of us and could easily hold 4 or 5 total. However, you MUST get a house number on the street. Its very hard to find - especially after dark.
I absolutely enjoyed our stay! We were a close drive to everything. The only issue I had was no napkins or paper towels in the house. Other than that all the ammenities were included. The air conditioner is also leaking in the big bedroom and i just put a towel underneath it.
Nice location, not much of a yard at all, outdoor shower did not work and was very run down, interior was nice as was the screened in porch, disappointed with the outdoor shower but would stay again
Loved staying at bayside retreat! It was indeed a retreat!! I would definitely go again and stay longer. I loved cooks brook beach right around the corner very private and water was so warm. Loved Arnoldâs seafood restaurant also around the corner. Nauset lighthouse beach was great too, water was a little colder and less private but was also great watching the surfers and even saw a seal bopping up and down in the water!! Kits flying. Just all around enjoyed my stay. My sons had a great time as well. Canât wait to go again!!!
We very much enjoyed our stay in this cottage! Immaculately clean, well-thought out, and comfortable. Thumpertown Beach is a 15-minute walk away and First Encounter is a short drive down the road. Easy access to Route 6 and to the bike trail.
