Our extended family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Northport Beach House. It was neat staying at a home with so much history. Having the park, playground and beach right across the street was a plus for the grandkids. We walked and cycled all around town and would make short day trips to other parts of the peninsula. We highly recommend the Beach House if you are looking for a Northern Michigan getaway for a large group of people.
We stayed at the Bayside Manor in Northport, MI for a week in July 2025. It was definitely well below average in terms of cleanliness and neatness. The furniture is well worn and the mattresses uncomfortable. We found a pair of used underwear, a hanger and dirt behind a dresser. There were ants in both the kitchen and the downstairs bathroom. The house had an unpleasant odor. Most of the closets and the breezeway were piled with the ownerâs possessions.Although the property was represented as being air conditioned, the three upstairs bedrooms and bathroom were not air conditioned.  Instead, there was a box fan in each of those rooms. There were base plates for smoke detectors on the bedroom ceilings, but no smoke detectors installed. In addition, there were electrical wires sticking out of a receptacle on the wall in one of the rooms. Communication from Vacasa was poor. When we notified Vacasa about the problems on Sunday, Vacasa told us that their âlocal teamâ would contact us. We heard nothing on Monday or Tuesday. After we complained again via email on Tuesday night, a member of the âlocal teamâ inexplicably delivered one 9v battery to us on Wednesday morning, without any prior notice. Then, on Thursday afternoon, someone entered the house while we were away and without any notice to us and installed smoke detectors in all of the bedrooms. Vacasa and the local team completely ignored the AC issue, offering no explanation or solutions.Buyer beware.
Lovely accommodations that were a short walk from anything weâd want in Northport. The house is directly across from the park and beach and has plenty of space for family to gather, play cards, sleep, eat and rest. We look forward to staying again another year!
We spent a long weekend in Northport for a wedding and then made it a mini family vacation. This house was perfect for us needing 5 different sleeping spaces. All of our adult children and significant others and kids were able to fit comfortably. We especially enjoyed the location (right across from Lake Michigan and a wonderful park), walking distance to the local shops, and spacious living room for us all to have a movie night with the whole family! Memories made that will last a lifetime. Thank you!!!
We come back to this property every other year and itâs always great. This time was no exception. I expect to come back again in another couple years.
The home was everything they indicated!
Two families have been going up to Northport for over 20 years reuniting with another local family. Since our families have grown we needed another place and had so much fun with the 3rd generation.
We would definitely come back!
The house is beautiful. Located in the heart of Pentwater. My son was married in the gazebo across the street. The house was perfect in so many ways. We made so many wonderful memories. Thank you!!
Found the yard well kept, house well maintained, clean, roomy, comfortable, well laid out. Hosts responsive to questions. Back yard grassy, fenced, great for kids to run around. Location to playground, beach, businesses in small town wonderful. A great experience. Thank you Danny and Joni!
Great house. Well equipped kitchen. Great TV. Large bedrooms upstairs. So close to town and water. Only suggestions I would make is to put hanging racks in the bedrooms, list the size of beds on Vrbo and a new coffee maker, just a simple drip one would be so much easier. Will definitely stay there again!! And many of our wedding guests plan to make a return trip and stay here.
This is our 6th stay at this property. We love the location which is close to family and friends, in town and next to the beach. Consider this our yearly vacation home. Thanks Danny and Joni!
My husband and I were married in August of 2006. The day before our wedding my husband agreed to purchase (without telling his future wife) this house from his family. In October of 2006 the purchase was finalized, and we began renovations! Our first weekly rental reservation was made in the mist of the renovations February 2007, at that time we had no windows in the house. The reservation was the driving force to complete the renovations in just 8 months. My husband Dan was born and raised in Northport, and I grew up in Northern Michigan, and moved to Northport in 1998. Danny has owned his own business since 1999 as a Builder, and I am the Village of Northport Elected Clerk since 2010. We have three kids, twin daughters and one son.
