Perfect For Kids

First time to Cape San Blas, and it is the perfect place for kids! No overcrowding on the beach so they can do their thing! Having an awesome house like this right on the beach made it the easiest vacation possible with little ones! Great local shops/restaurants.

Great beach stay

Lime Pie was fantastic. The location and view can't be beat. The house is also well appointed and very comfortable. Lots of nice touches were provided (dish soap, bath soap, extra towels, etc.). The kitchen also had a much wider variety of cooking equipment than you usually find in a rental house, and of a higher quality too. All in all, we were very pleased with the house and would definitely stay again.

Wonderful stay

While there were minor issues, no hot water, taken care of the same day, we loved the house and location. Communication was good. We did see some mold on bedroom vents, house was otherwise very clean. Beach was wonderful. Very good place to find shells. Had a couple of stormy days and saw the beach erosion issue first hand. We love the area. Very laid back and relaxing.

A WONDERFUL MINI-VACATION FOR THE FAMILY

Despite nearby hurricanes in August (which resulted in only one day & one night of bad weather) we had a fabulous time! This beautiful house was well-appointed & the view of the beach was awesome. Our 4 1/2 year old granddaughter loved the ocean & the sunrises & sunsets were memorable for us all. Given the pandemic, we were pleased that the beach was uncrowded & the location of the house kept us away from crowds. The property manager, Andrew, was very caring & responsive to our needs. We very much look forward to a return visit!

Great Thanksgiving Holiday

Lime Pie is as described, with plenty of space for Adults and a dog to spread out comfortably. We did have to message the Host for some things and was responded to promptly. The only drawback is the way to get down to the beach. Off of the boardwalk in front of the house is a straight drop-down that you cannot take without hurting yourself. You have to walk down to other houses’ steps to get to the beach. Our group had kinda anticipated this so it was not a deterrent to renting the house. Overall, would stay there again.

Spectacular view

As you walk into the main floor, large windows give you a spectaular view of the ocean. The house is very nice with a comfy master bedroom. The deck and walk way to the beach was just perfect. The water heater went out & the property manager had it fixed within a few hours. Also, offered to give a free night for the issue. A red tide occurred few days before we arrived & knew something happend due to dead fish & murky water. A local shope owner told us, we keep a close watch on our dog & made the best of it anyway. The water cleared up 3 days before we left. We have missed Cape San Blas & do to the pandemic we could not visit last year. With my husband working in the ER, time off is hard to come by. Even with a couple issues on our trip, we still enjoyed our time. Eight days was not long enough, another week would have been so great at LIME PIE!

Perfect location and views, but lacks cleanliness

First I would like to say this location is perfect. The house and scenery are beautiful and the reason for my 4 star review. I did not rate this a 5 star for the main reason of cleanliness. It seems as if the cleaning crew only does a quick sweep through befofe the next guest. This house needs a GOOD deep cleaning. We had to pre wash all dishes and silver ware before using them. The bottom of the cabinets and drawers (especially where the silverware is) was so dirty. We had to lay our own blankets over the couch becuase they were covered in pet hair upon our arrival. I would also like to say in the beginning the property owner was very prompt to message me back, but since June I sent multiple messages for questions with no reply. I also messaged letting them know our experience with only to receive no reply. The location of this is perfect. I hope that they get the cleanliness taken care of because if they do it would for sure then be a 5 star.

Great stay

We had a great week at Lime Pie… The house was suited to our needs.. had a few things that definitely need attention to but over all stay was great… No steps to beach access but you can walk a little further and use others if you aren’t comfortable or able to make it off the end of walkway onto beach dune area.. I’m sure I’m time this will be fixed. Was sad that swing was not down underneath house would have loved to use it to swing grand baby and hang out with family while they grilled. The grill is also a little small park grill. It was a little inconvenient when grilling large amounts of food. Had trouble with the back door to deck area staying closed and it was hard to open at times. House is listed as pet friendly but if you do have dogs bring a baby gate if you want them to hang out on deck, there is no gate to help keep enclosed. Was a little hard trying to keep dog in and from running out without one. Most houses we stay in has a room that includes extra chairs and beach stuff while I know this is not required just wanted to point out that this house did not. All doors to outside storage were locked as well as kayaks. The walk to beach is short and that’s one thing we love and look for when planning our yearly trip.. the water was crystal clear all week and had 5 perfect sunny days. The view from this house is spectacular sand and ocean from every view facing the ocean. Up stairs bedrooms has the best views… We did not have any issues while on our stay.. Great stay..

The house isn’t as pristine as the pictures posted. We had a lot of issues at this rental. I will say the Host of the property did offer to fix some of them but somethings should have clearly been done before we arrived. We didn’t want workers in and out fixing issues while we were there trying to relax on our vacation. The master bath ceiling had black mold on the ceiling in the shower and a few other spots. I do have pictures and to me that was unacceptable. The other bdrm on the main level and bathroom had plastic covering the vents. The couch covers are very stained, we found chocolate candy under the tv stand that my dogs were trying to get, it wasn’t advertised or we weren’t told that the steps going down to the beach directly behind the house were gone. The coffee maker went out and the host told us we would have to wait until the following day so he could go get one in Panama. My husband had to go to Piggly Wiggly just before they closed and bought one so we could have coffee the next morning. They did reimburse us but what a hassle at 9 pm. There were other issues as well. This was a special anniversary get away and we were expecting it to be as described and that the photos advertised were accurate. The views are breathtaking and a couple weeks later they added steps but we’ll never stay at Lime Pie again.

Paradise or purgatory

Before arriving I contacted the property manager to find out if there was a chance for early check in since we were arriving an hour early. My inquiry went unanswered. The property was as it appeared in pictures though it obviously had not been cleaned well. The trash was still there from the week before and it smelled horrible. There were chairs lying around everywhere and the floors and shades were dirty. The house was super close to the beach which was convenient with a child with special needs. We were not prepared for the bugs though. We all left with huge knots on us from the bites. We were also originally told that there were televisions in every room but when we arrived the downstairs master did not have one. I contacted the property manager about it. Fortunately he replied and explained that there had been an issue with the cable provider but offered to have them come out and resolve it. The technician showed up two days before we left and stayed for two hours. Two hours that I was inside away from my family instead of enjoying our vacation. Unfortunately we never got a chance to use the cable box because we were never provided another television for that room. It now has a box though so hopefully the next renters will benefit. I’ve rented from VRBO multiple times and have always been pleased. Property managers have always been easy to do business with and nothing but helpful. Unfortunately this time I was not as fortunate.

We had the best week in Cape San Blas! This house and its location is perfect. Location and things near by: we did our main grocery pick up at the Walmart in Callaway which is an hour away we then went to the trading post for random odds and ends needed through the trip. There are a few local places to eat, get coffee and ice cream all within 5mi of the house which we loved. Port St Joe is a quick drive from the house and they have a Piggly Wiggly, CVS and DG market. It’s an adorable town with several fast food, local food and ice cream options. PCB is a little over an hour away, we spent a day there doing the tourist stuff and were quickly reminded why we chose to try CSB. As for the beach it was absolutely amazing, we basically had the beach to ourselves most of the week. It stormed off and on our whole trip so we had big waves and murky water the first few days which made for great boogie boarding and by our last two days the water was more calm and clearing up. The proximity of the beach to the house was perfect we were able to let the older kids play on the edge of the water while we watched from the porch. We also greatly enjoyed the Kayaks. As for the house there were 13 of us, 6 adults and 7 kids ages 2-13. We had plenty of space. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking meals and serving 13 people. The house was very clean and the beds so comfortable. The house and views from it are gorgeous. This house was seriously everything I hoped for I can’t wait to to go back.

Not worth the price

House is focused on looks, not quality. Amenities are lacking; house itself is beautiful. Proximity to beach is 10/10 but sticker burrs are bothersome, especially with small kids. Great ocean views. Steps to beach, which felt like a private beach. That said, beach is eroded and full of shells and tree stumps. Biting flies on beach, very unpleasant. Many complaints are listed in previous reviews to which the owner responded saying these issues were fixed but they weren’t. All minor and we did not need to reach out to the owner during our stay. House was dirty when we arrived, seashells everywhere on patio under house. Glass door to patio was filthy. Leftover items from previous guests. Mold on ceiling vents, trash bag duct taped to the ceiling of downstairs bathroom, couch covers were soiled/ stained. Chair covers were poor quality, also dirty. There was a LOT of pet hair. Microwave rusted out on inside. Kitchen faucet tricky to get turned off. Mold in seal to washing machine. Very few towels/wash cloths provided. Only 10 bath towels and 6 wash cloths provided. One of the upstairs bedroom doors won’t lock. Coffee maker lid kept falling off. Garbage disposal doesn’t work. Tv requires PIN to download apps such as Disney, very inconvenient. Owner accused me of bringing/leaving a large dirty wooden table that was there upon arrival and asked why the trash bins hadn’t been taken to the road, which wasn’t in check out instruction. Had a great time with family, but won’t be back.

Family getaway

Beautiful ocean views from the open concept dining, LR and kitchen. Beds slept well. Well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the extra seating in LR to accomodate our family comfortably hanging out in the same room. We would definitely rebook in the future.

Mr. and Mrs Martin took ownership of this beautiful home in 2018! They have been visiting the Forgotten Coast and surrounding areas for years, and finally made the leap from renter to Owner with this beautiful beach front home. They want their renters to be extremely satisfied with their stay, and love to offer discounts to Snow Birds and Repeat Renters.

This Home is Beach Front and is located with closer access to Port St. Joe Dining and shopping, but still enjoy being steps away from the seclusion of Cape San Blas Beaches!! This house feels new and has Both Beach and Bay views!!! 3 of 4 Bedrooms feature Ocean Front views! Hurricane Michael Survivor!
