Nice sized space with all the amenities you might need. Good wifi, two fiber connections. Bicycle was a great plus for solo traveller. Hosts Laura and Fabien live next door and know the area well. Excellent hosts. Super safe neighborhood with decent food options withing walking distance.
Bikes and snorkel gear are convenient. Separate living space and pool were nice features when relaxing after a day of adventuring. Our hosts Laura and Fabian were very nice and accommodating; they live next door so help is close by whenever needed.
Our stay was great, Condo is spacious and nicely decorated. Some basic shops and a fresh bakery around the corner and the location is away from the cruise ship areas. It is a bit of a walk to downtown but we actually enjoyed doing that in the evening for a bit of exercise. The communication with the host was great and we got a number of good tips and support. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a quiet place.
Fabian and Laura were fantastic! We stayed in the apartment for 4 weeks. We felt safe, and was within walking distance of almost everything we needed, yet far enough away from the cruise port to not be bombarded by everyone arriving on cruise ships. Monica shows up 1x per week to clean, and deliver fresh towels, and to replace your bedding. We will stay with them again.
For this trip to Cozumel, I was traveling by myself for scuba diving. I used one of the loaner bicycles Laura has available and rode to the pier for my boat pick up each day. It was an easy 5-10 minute ride. After diving, I also could stop at one of the grocery stores in town to pick up anything I wanted that the local convenience store (OXXO) didn't have. The apartment is great for 1-2 people, and had all I needed - microwave, coffee maker (with filters!), 2 burner cooktop, pots, pans, utensils, towels, large balcony, and drying area for gear. The apartment looks brand new and was very comfortable! There are also some great local tacquerias and restaurants within walking distance. Don't miss a meal at Las Tortugas on 30th, or ice cream at La Flor de Michoacan! I will come, again!
An ex-Connecticut Yankee who has called Cozumel home for over 15 years, Laura ran away to the Caribbean years ago, bumped around the islands teaching SCUBA diving, lost some time in Jamaica, and finally stopped in Cozumel for a 2 week vacation that hasnât ended yet. With a degree in Journalism from a fancy private college she convinced her parents to pay for, Laura writes, edits, and creates the weekly Cozumel 4 You news, promotional articles about the island, and her very own blog, which she finds hilarious. Her long suffering husband, the Fabster, has long since resigned himself to having zero private life, as heâs been involved in her various schemes and plots since his arrival. Proud parents to a variety of rescue dogs and cats, Laura continues to be the bane of her traditional Mexican mother-in-lawâs existence, as she muses her way through life in the Mexican Caribbean.
Laura publishes the Cozumel 4 You community News, which is the island's bilingual weekly source of positive information about the island. Fabian is a scuba diving instructor, a marine biologist and knows everyone on the island
