Would defnitely book again. Very conveniently located to town and activities. Checkin and check out process flawless, clear, and user friendly.Lots of cobwebs on the outside of the property and some on the inside HOWEVER, its a cabin in the woods so I wouldnt expect any different!!! This did not take away from all of the rest of the amenities and cleanliness of the home. Overall 10/10 recommend this specific property.
It was great to be off the beaten path, yet close enough to downtown Helen, GA This cabin allowed us the getaway that we needed, and the hot tub was also very enjoyable.
My husband and I stayed here for the weekend with some friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary and to do Oktoberfest! The place was beautiful! My phone had no service and was in SOS mode but worked perfectly fine once you connected to the WiFi. We would definitely stay here again!
Property was very nice and secluded. Everything was clean with plenty of supplies and utensils for a comfortable stay. My only complaint was i couldn't stay longer.
We decide last minute to take a trip on the holiday weekend. We were so lucky to find this cabin for the long weekend. We had so much fun touring Helen and driving through the mountains. We spent quality time at the cabin grilling out and enjoying the hot tub.
My family and I enjoyed a quick weekend getaway at this cabin and we were overall very pleased with our stay. The cabin was clean and private but also close to Unicoi State Park and Downtown Helen. The only thing I would note is that you have to travel about 1.2 miles down a very narrow (and in places steep) gravel road to reach the cabin which could be an issue depending on the vehicle you are driving.
We decided last minute to take a trip around the fourth. The owners were quick to respond and allow us into their home. The location was just what we needed, off the beaten path. The neighboring deer greeted us in the driveway before we could get u loaded. The foosball table and other board games was a great distraction for the younger children and the hot tub for the teens, allowing the adults to get in done R&R. Will most definitely book again! Helen is our favorite getaway!
Property manager was excellent to work with, made things very simple. Beautiful cabin in the woods, but not to far from everything. I forgot my coffee, which is like forgetting to breathe! So I was overly thrilled to discover that there was coffee & creamer in the cabinet. Only problem was 3 nights wasn't long enough. Can't wait to go back!
The house needs to be cleaned on the outside, there were spider webs every where, wasp nest on outside the house.windows in living room and kitchen need to be cleaned.tv reception and wi-fi was bad.mattress in lower bedroom needs replacing. Not enough seating in living room. Outside trash needed to be emptied from the last renters and cleaned up.
Overall we had a great stay at Misty Mountain. It was secluded in the woods, while still being a short 10-15min ride to downtown Helen and the other activities we were interested in. There was an issue with the hot tub, but after telling them about it, they sent someone out to fix it. The wifi on the other hand was not reliable and wouldn't stay on. It wasn't a big deal for us, but if you were trying to do some work while being on family vacation it would have been a real issue. The thing I really want folks to know about the place is that as beautiful as it is, and despite what the listing says, you really need an SUV at least to access the cabin. It is not a paved road to get there, it is gravel, and dirt and very steep and winds and is very narrow. There were parts coming and going, where if another car is coming in the other direction I had to pull off the road or even back up to get into someone's driveway so the other car could pass. My wife has an SUV so we were ok, but had we been in my car, I'm not sure we could have gotten back and forth to the place. I wish that was more clearly explained. We got used to the drive in and out but I wouldn't want to be doing that in a car or very late at night. Overall the cabin was great but there are some things folks should know before booking this cabin.
Gravel road is a bit hard to drive. It would be excellent if it was paved and had lights to make it safer to travel on this road at night. Once you arrive at the cabin, it is amazing!
The house and the property was amazing. The house was fully stocked with everything you need for a vacation. Great memories was made here this weekend.
Beautiful cabin, very clean and well stocked, comfy beds, and lots to keep us entertained when we weren't exploring Helen. The hot tub and fooseball were well enjoyed. Fully supplied kitchen and grill area with everything we needed.
We had a great time! The house is well equipped and has everything you might need. It was very clean. My kids said their favorite part of the whole trip was the houseâŠthey did not want to leave to check out any of the area activities. Getting in and out of the drive can be a little challenging if you arenât used to steep drops and a lot of gravel.
Property was exactly what we were looking for ! Off the beaten path and secluded but close to enough to Helen to enjoy what it has to offer. Very clean, beautiful property.
