Easy access to the beach, nice pool, check in & out was very easy & efficient. Restaurant food was great. Not sure about other condos there but ours could have been a little cleaner & a few outlets didnât work.
This was my second stay on the Plantation! We love the quiet/private and family atmosphere. I left a 4 only because of specific issues with this unit, & the hot tubs being out of service.
We loved that the area of gulf shores wasnât real busy and right on the main drag. The condo itself in my opinion could use some updating. Such as the furniture(beds), kitchen appliances, etc. it would have also been nice to have some put put golf accessories and tennis to utilize what the facility provided.
Furniture falling apart nail sticking out of couch. Box spring in one of the bedroom broken. Master bed was hard as a rock. Roaches in bathrooms. Carpet dirty.
Upon arrival the condo was dirty. I had to call and speak to representative twice to get information on cleaning again. They were an hour away, so we went with the next morning. When they cleaned, the still missed dirty mirrors and took dirty towels and didnât leave enough behind. I called requesting more towels and they were supposed to bring some the same day and we never got anymore towels. We had a total of 8 towels and we had 9 guests. The condo is in need of maintenance and a good detailed cleaning. Carpet in one room is separating from tac board, we had a child who stepped on it. Master bathroom shower has mold growing in cracks of tile. Balcony chairs are rusted and two do not sit level ( need replacing). I would also suggest some plastic kitchenware as this was advertised as family condo. The location to the beach was great and overall quality of building was fine.
Great location! Family friendly unfortunately not clean...
The location was wonderful and the site has many advantages for a fantastic stay. We enjoyed beach, pool, and sassy bass restaurant on location. The negatives are the unit was not cleaned well. We had a late check in so this was not a rush on our part. The main bathroom and master bedroom was dirty. Blankets on top shelf not folded- not clean. The mirrors had lotion hand prints - not clean. The master bedroom drawers had sand and dirt. I was not able to unpack. The following day (Tuesday) I reported it to Vacasa - by phone and I stopped by the office the early afternoon- the gentleman at the desk just said â well the cleaners did have a busy check in day and many of our cleaners had to work harder and faster to get things completedâ He did not offer to have them return to clean. This is Vacasa (property managements) fault for not seeing through the units are clean. Vacasa has you call the number and then they call the site manager.... not easy. I would not stay again. ONLY BECAUSE it was not clean. We also had an issue that was not in there control- painting the east side of the unit. We were woken up at 7:45 every day of our stay with wall repairs and painting on the side of our unit. We were not able to use the deck from 8-5. Why have painting at peak season rentals? We were never notified of this the painting/repairs. We found out by getting a written notice on our sliding class door. I could go on. I would rather not. My first time to review. Iâve stayed at many places on homeaway and really felt I needed to report this. There were so many positives about this place.
This is a very spacious, clean, well cared for property. There is plenty of room for everyone! The extra large balcony is a bonus space! It was so relaxing to sit out there. The amenities of the property are outstanding! Beach is beautiful! The chair and umbrella rental at the beach is perfect if you don't have your own equipment or want to carry it down to the beach.
I loved that this condo was so close to the beach. The balcony had a good view. There were broken chairs out on the balcony , a big picture fell off the wall due to the screws that were used. The skillets in the kitchen should have been thrown away long ago. The cleaning crew were horrible.
Love this unit. Unfortunately we were there while construction/repair was going on. Could not enjoy the wonderful balcony due to the falling debris from the construction. Being awaken by construction sounds each and every day at 7:00am wasn't good but it got our day started early! We have stayed at the Dunes several times and will return again. This unit was great for out family except the pull out couch needs replacing.
Our original room wasn't available due to post hurricane repairs being incomplete. We received a nice upgrade, and were able to include another friend.
We had minor issues with room (ice maker wouldn't turn off and kitchen sink dripped) but someone came and repaired within a couple hours of our call.
**note --"fancy" shower in master bath doesn't work in "fancy" mode, but works as a regular shower.
Ate at the restaurant on site and had a great meal with great staff. Beach and pools were great.
Cleanest, best-equipped rental we've stayed in at the beach. It is on the 2nd floor and that isn't listed anywhere, but it makes using the stairs easy and the elevator can get a bit busy. It also is in a building perpendicular to the beach so view is one sided and blocked by the building next door. Pools are nice and there is an indoor pool if it rains. Beach access is easy and there are showers to get the sand off. It's also in Fort Carson, not Gulf Shores which means it is not as crowded or developed, which we preferred.
