We really enjoyed our stay in Courcy. The apartment was spacious, clean, well equipped and very cozy. The hosts were there for every need or questions, and the entire place was lovely, with a pool and hot tab with towels and robes and anything you can think of.
Highly recommended!
What a wonderful place to stay! We are a family of 5 with childrenâs ages ranging from 4 to 12 years old and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The accommodation was clean, spacious and homely with all the essentials in place for a comfortable holiday. The children absolutely loved the pool, which we could use even when it showered (as it does in Normandy!) as it has a cover. There was also plenty of space to run around and throw a rugby ball! My youngest daughter loved the chickens and was particularly fond of the friendly donkey. Martine and Michel are excellent hosts, so helpful and accommodating.
I would highly recommend this fantastic holiday home for any family wanting a relaxing break or to explore beautiful Normandy.
Our stay in Courcy was from 1st June 2019 to 8th June 2019. We were welcomed on arrival by Martine and Michel, the owners and shown our home for the next 7 days explaining all we needed to know.
Our accommodation was very clean and comfortable with outstanding views over the surrounding countryside. A big bonus was the covered swimming pool in the very well kept gardens and further down the garden a hot tub! To our amusement a robot lawnmower was in constant use keeping the grass cut short.
Our stay in Normandy was for the D-Day Commemorations as my father is a Veteran, so we were out and about every day to Caen, Arromanches, Sannerville to enjoy all the events that had been organised.
The local town of Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives was a short drive and had 2 supermarkets and you could purchase fuel at Casino. It is a very pretty town with a great market on a Monday.
Martine and Michel were very helpful to us during our stay with information especially road closures on 6th June, which fortunately we could get through the barriers due to Dad being a veteran and we had a car sticker too.
We would also like to thank Michel for taking superb photos of us all to keep.
We would love to return sometime and highly recommend this property (there are 3 gites).
A clean, bright and beautiful apartment on a gorgeous piece of land!
Martine was a very helpful host from the beginning. The apartment is perfect for a small family. Perfect for children as there are many animals to experience. The apartment was clean, spacious and quiet. A very nice place to escape to. The advertisement and photos are true to the place. Very lovely!
We had a lovely short stay (3 nights) at the 'hen house' with 6 adults sharing 3 rooms. The house is stylish, clean and comfortable in a great location for exploring the Caen area and the D-Day beaches (the main reason for our stay). The third bedroom was a bit of a squeeze for our two youngest but it was fine for us. The hosts, Martine and Michel, are charming and really made us feel at home. The swimming pool is very good too.
All in all we really enjoyed staying at the property and would definitely visit again.

My family and I have recently returned from a 10 night stay in "Le Poulailler" where we had a fantastic time!
The owners, Martine and Michel, couldn't have been more accommodating. We stayed in their 3 bedroom property, the bedrooms were all an excellent size, extremely clean and beautifully furnished. The 2 larger rooms had a TV, although only French channels, however this was not an issue for us. There was also internet access should you require it with a cable connection.
The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and again was spotless, as was the bathroom.
The dining area seated the 5 of us comfortably.
Outside the gardens were lovely with plenty of space for the children to run around. The pool was fantastic, it was heated and kept very clean and used by the children every day....Michel even pumped up their inflatableâs. Martine and Michel have a table tennis table which was brought outside every day for us along with bats and balls, etc. Another addition to the garden was Aladin, the boxer, who was great with the kids and was at our side when lying on the loungers! In the far corner Martine has chickens and a goose which if you're lucky enough to be offered eggs from, do accept, they were delicious! The children got to go in with the chickens when Martine and Michel were collecting eggs and feeding them.
At the back of the garden there is a field with a horse and donkey owned by Martine and Michel. The children were invited in and gave them carrots with Michel and Martine supervising.
There are many places to visit nearby including Saint-Pierre-Sur-Dives which has a great market and is a nice village to walk around. Falaise is slightly larger with excellent places to eat and steeped in history. There is also a tourist information here. We went further a field and visited Deauville which is a lovely seaside town with fantastic beaches...well worth the journey (approx 1 hour) and Arramanches (again approx 1 hour away) which provided a fascinating insight to the 2nd world war, but also a very nice little touristy village.
All in all, we highly recommend staying here....a fantastic location in a lovely area with excellent hosts!
