We really enjoyed our stay while dropping our son off at UW-Madison. The house has lots of Badgers decorations which was fun. When we arrived we had homemade snacks in the kitchen! Yum! Check in and out was easy and we appreciated the homeowner checking in with us during our stay.
This home was a good fit for our group of 5 adults. Check-in was smooth, Kate gave great instructions and everything in the home was well labeled. The bedrooms were comfortable and had enough space. The backyard looked lovely although it was too hot out for us to enjoy. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. The staircase to all 3 bedrooms is very steep - not a problem for our group but could be for someone with balance or mobility issues.
The place was fabulous! We felt right at home. Kate's cookies and brownies greeted us. After a 7 5 hour drive through construction alley, we were able to chill in her most serene backyard. We enjoyed all of the comforts of home. Kate was quick to answer when we lost our code to get in.We had a graduation at UW on Saturday, We returned to a quiet evening in the backyard with the dogs. If you want to stay at a place like home, this is the place. Thanks Kate!
We were in town for a local convention, and this was an amazing stay. The house is well maintained and very well decorated. We had everything we could need and everything was clear and labeled. Her instructions were clear and communication was easy. I would totally recommend!
We had a wonderful time visiting for a UW game. The house and yard are delightful! We enjoyed playing records, hanging out in the yard and the well stocked kitchen. An additional bonus is that Madison has many gluten free/ Celiac safe restaurants! My daughter ate out at several delicious places and had a great time. The owner is very attentive and available. I would definitely stay here again!
The owner made great efforts to make our stay enjoyable. There were lots of details that clearly showed she wanted to make our stay special. One thing to note: there is one bathroom upstairs if that is important to you.
We enjoyed our stay, we were in town for the Ironman race. Liked having a house instead of staying at a hotel. Next to bike paths so easy to do a ride or ride into town. House was clean & it was the best stocked house weâve stayed at on VRBO. She thought of everything you would need!
The location is great-- walkable about a mile from the many fine shops and restaurants of the east side. The garden and home were beautiful and very nicely maintained.
Only (very minor) caveat is that folks with mobility challenges might have trouble on the second floor stairs to the bedrooms.
The house was so convenient to campus and worked really well for our family for UW graduation. Kate communicated clearly and promptly and there were fresh baked goods for us on arrival! The house has a record player and some great 70s and 80s albums that we really had fun listening to while we played games. Highly recommend this place!
My friends and I (2 couples and a single) stayed here for a friend's wedding on the east side of Madison.
The location was very convenient, with Uber rides into town at about $10. We also enjoyed the nearby Olbrich gardens and bike paths.
The house itself is charming and has all amenities. It is a bit creaky so you'll hear every footstep of your housemates during the stay, but it wasn't too annoying.
Property was exactly as listed, easy to find and had the most inviting and relaxed vibes. The home is absolutely adorable and the backyard is fantastic. I never worried that my very athletic, herding dog would be able to escape and roam the neighborhood. If your a pet mom or pet dad, you know that's always a big relief to have your fur babie happy and safe. This place is definitely a 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Don't tell everyone otherwise we can't get in again, because everyone will want in on this hidden gem.
This was a wonderful experience. The host was very accommodating. Our stay was over Christmas, and it was nice to have a little tree. She left wonderful goodies and the house was very inviting. I would be quite happy to stay there again. Most important, I felt my furry friend, my dog was very safe. We took walks in the neighborhood and enjoyed quiet times when not visiting family. Thanks to Kate for a very enjoyable visit.
Four of us stayed over Thanksgiving week. Kate was a great host. She left out dishes for us to use for Thanksgiving dinner, checked often to make sure we had what we needed, left us baked goodies and some potatoes/vegetables for our dinner, and gave suggestions on places to go nearby. Communication was excellent from the time we booked all the way through the stay. The fenced yard for the dogs was very helpful; Kateâs listing is by far the most dog-friendly weâve seen on any hosting sites.
The listing does not show it clearly but there is a 4 seat dining area. Kate left us an extra folding table that worked great for a larger group. Also, the bathroom in the basement is listed as a half bath but it is actually a full bath with a shower curtain door. This house would not be good for anyone with issues going up and down stairs but it was perfect for us. Very cozy and comfortable with plenty of extra towels and blankets and a fully stocked kitchen. Thank you Kate for a wonderful home away from home.
Had a great time staying here over a football weekend. Location is convenient to campus. The place is super clean and has everything you need. The host even left us cookies!
We had a group of 6, ages 16 to 60, along with our dog. We all agreed.. this will be our âgo toâ place whenever we come back to visit. Kate our host answered every question about going to a Badger game (it was our first time).. so donât be afraid to ask questions! We have more family in the area and the back yard was perfect for a fire that evening after the game so we could all visit ( nice quiet neighborhood and neighbors⊠very family friendly). Exactly what we needed after spending 8 hours downtown at the Badger game. I would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Nice, comfortable house in quiet neighborhood. Everything we needed to enjoy a game weekend. Homemade cookies and vinyl records to play were fun touches.
Well, my wife is looking at property in Madison following our stay. We came to town for a wedding. We loved exploring the area surrounding the VRBO on foot, and also found much to see and do in the downtown area. This house was a spectacular home base at which to recharge. It had everything we needed, and was visually pleasing with the warm lighting and wood finish. This would be a good place for entertaining a group, or for a bunch of introverts to chill out and read.
