Best holiday ever!

I was almost reluctant to leave a review at the risk of other people finding out about this absolute gem of a property in Castro Marim! The house is beautiful and so very well equipped - they really have thought of everything. Very clean with big open living spaces, private & secure. The pool is amazing and our two young sons, nephew and niece spent countless hours in there having fun and making memories. The owners, Bonnie & Barry, are lovely people and could not do enough for us to make our stay special, and a big shout out to Les & Nuno who live nearby and were just a WhatsApp message away for anything we needed. Great guys. We hired rental cars but a taxi into the bustling Monte Gordo and its many bars, restaurants and beach was just 12 euro, and a 15 min ride. Our only gripe about the holiday, was having to come home... 10/10! Thanks so much for having us and we hope to be back one day soon :)

Beautiful Casa Emelia

Bonnie was so helpful and friendly when we first contacted her .All the arrangements before we left the UK went painlessly and without a hitch .We were given lots of infomation about the area and the property,which was both very usefull and reassuring. When we arrived at Casa Emelia we where all impressed with how very attractive it looked.Lynne greeted us and showed us around this delightful villa.It had every thing we needed and far more than we expected to make our stay comfortable.The kitchen was generously equipped,the beds very comfortable and there is a very good selection of books,dvds and cds.The pool and barbeque areas are lovely and we spent many hours relaxing their.To end the day sat on the roof terrace overlooking the nature reserve and watching the sun set drink in hand ,was just perfect.A wonderful holiday.We hope to return .A big thank you from Delia,John,Louise Mike,Ella,David and Christine.

Vacances idéales

Nous avons passés un super séjour dans cette villa, elle est spacieuse et très agréable à vivre, très fonctionnelle et avec moustiquaires partout, climatisation, propre etc... La piscine était délicieuse et le tout a fait de notre séjour un régal. Ce coin de l'algarve est un petit paradis, très facile pour faire les courses et pour les restaurants avec Villa Real de San Antonio juste à côté environ 3 km avec vue superbe sur les marais salants au passage. Les plages sont magnifiques et grandes. Mais la maison étant très bien nous y avons passés la majeure partie de notre temps, et nous la recommandons vivement. Le tout petit moins reste la route de la résidence un peu passagère quand on dort comme nous sans la clim mais les fenêtres ouvertes. Mais il y a tellement de plus qu'on l'oublie. Et le ++ pour nous, FRANCK et PAT un couple adorable qui sont a la fois serviables, gentils et drôles. Nous les regrettons déjà. Merci à eux pour toutes leurs explications et nos échanges, vraiment ils ont été adorables alors que nous ne parlions pas très bien anglais. Très bonnes vacances dont nous nous souviendrons et nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

Highly recommendable

I stayed at the Casa Emilia with my husband, my mother and my three teenagers. We all enjoyed the stay very much and would definitely like to come back. We were welcomed by Les who is very kind and showed us how everything worked in the house. The house was very clean and spacious, and the pool was excellent for both teens and their parents. The pool was cleaned during our stay which made it attractive to use during the whole week. In the kitchen there was everything you would need to cook a delicious meal. The air conditioning worked very well even though the temperatures were extremely high. If you wish to get around in the area, a car is necessary. Thanks A LOT for a great place to stay! Casa de férias

Perfeita para famílias ou grupos de amigos. A casa tem à disposição todas as comodidades e mais algumas, mesmo para quem opte por uma estadia mais doméstica, pois a cozinha está equipada com uma vasta panóplia de utensílios, além do espaço de barbecue. A comunicação com os donos foi sempre muito fácil, bem como com o Les, e os miminhos que nos deixaram à chegada foram muito apreciados. A zona da piscina é muito agradável, mas a proximidade das belíssimas praias algarvias dificulta a escolha sobre a ocupação do tempo. Recomendamos vivamente e esperamos voltar em breve!

heerlijk ruim huis met prachtige tuin

Heerlijk genoten in dit zeer ruime huis met voldoende comfort. De ontvangst door les was erg gastvrij en in onze taal nederlands. en het contact vooraf met Bonnie was ook erg fijn en zeer gastvrij. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, veel ruimte, grote keuken met heel veel keukenapparatuur en servies. Ondanks de ruimte is het toch erg knus en ook als het wat kouder was hielden de kacheltjes ons lekker warm. De Tuin is ook prachtig en zeer ruim met verschillende hoekjes, het zwembad is ook een fijne bijkomstigheid en schoon. Alles wat je nodig hebt om je vakantie perfect te laten verlopen is aanwezig. Wij raden dit huis van deze zeer vriendelijk eigenaars zeker aan! Wij hebben het er fijn gehad! bedankt!

Translation: Wonderfully enjoyed in this very spacious house with sufficient comfort. The reception by lesson was very welcoming and in our language dutch. and the contact beforehand with Bonnie was also very nice and very welcoming. The house is fully equipped, plenty of space, large kitchen with lots of kitchen appliances and crockery. Despite the space it is still very cozy and even when it was a bit colder the stoves kept us nice and warm. The Garden is also beautiful and very spacious with several corners, the pool is also a nice touch and clean. Everything you need to make your holiday run perfectly is there. Casa com tudo para umas ótimas férias em família

A nossa estadia na Casa Emilia foi excelente. A comunicação e atenção dos senhorias foi muito fácil e rápida, além a próximidade e disponibilidade dos responsáveis locais para atenderem qualquer problema. A casa é fantástica! Tem todas as condições para umas férias em família com pessoas, adultos e crianças, de todas as idades. Ótima solução para não ficar dependente da praia, especialmente perante a situação da pandemia que se vive actualmente. Recomendo vivamente!

Great spacious family Villa with pool

We have just spent our two week family holiday (two separate families) in Casa Emilia and had a fantastic time. The villa is extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need! The house is a generous size and the outside space is fantastic with lots of space around the pool area. The children loved the pool and it was lovely and clean and well maintained. All the bedrooms have air-con which was essential for sleeping at night as it was so hot. Any problems we had were very quickly and efficiently dealt with by Les and Lynda, who were also very friendly and welcoming. A car is essential, I would say, as there aren't any restaurants or shops within walking distance of the villa but we found supermarkets and restaurants within a short drive away. We did our food shopping at the local Lidl as this seemed to be the best stocked supermarket and also easy to park, with plenty of spaces. We would highly recommend this Villa if you are looking for a great place to spend a relaxing holiday!

A stunning villa with everything you could possibly need!

My family and I stayed in Casa Emilia from 14th July - 4th August 2018. The villa is stunning with a lovely feeling of home from home. It was very clean and tidy and felt nice and cool inside. I particularly loved the kitchen area with the most beautiful long marble topped table. The comfortable bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms made our stay even more pleasant. The villa is very spacious both inside and out. There were eight of us altogether and it never felt overcrowded. There are so many areas outside to eat, sit and relax in the shade or sunbathe around the beautiful pool. The upstairs area with its own sitting room, bedroom and bathroom was ideal for the older couple in our group who appreciated a little more privacy. We were all so impressed with the amazing library in the sitting room. If we had known there was such a great selection of books we wouldn't have bothered bringing our own. This area led out to a balcony which overlooked the pool with another very spacious outdoor area with table and chairs and a beautiful seating area with large comfy sofa chairs. Although there were other villas around us we didn't feel overlooked. Without doubt, this is the best equipped villa I have ever stayed in with everything you could possibly need and more. The beautiful sandy beaches are only a few kilometres away and there are so many little towns and villages close by. Cabanas and Fabrica with their lagoons were amazing places to see also. Monte Gordo is a livelier town with plenty of shops and restaurants and still only a ten minute drive away. Tavira, which is about a 25 minute drive away, is also worth a visit. I loved the castle in Castro Marim with its stunning panoramic views. No matter where we went the people were all really welcoming and friendly. Les and Linda, the managers, live close by and were only a phone call away if needed. Les cleaned the pool every 3 days and collected the bed linen and left clean bedding once a week. Although there was no-one assigned to clean the villa over our three week stay, we found it easy to maintain ourselves. My sincere thanks to the extremely warm and friendly owners Bonnie and Barry for all their helpful advice and for their wealth of information and recommendations which made our stay so much easier. We enjoyed eating at the wonderful restaurants recommended and Barry's hand-drawn map was a God send until we found our bearings. We had a wonderful holiday and hope to return in the near future.

La casa es estupenda para pasar unas vacaciones de relax y disfrutar del lugar y los alrededores. Con muy buenas playas cerca. La casa es muy acogedora y te sientes muy a gusto en ella. Fantástica cocina. Casa amplia y limpia. Atención muy agradable por parte de la propiedad.

heerlijke vakantie gehad

Wij hebben hier een heerlijke vakantie gehad, lekker groot huis, goede airco in elke slaapkamer, heerlijke bedden. Erg weinig schaduw buiten bij het zitgedeelte, dit ook vooral omdat de parasols stuk waren en omdat de sproeiers al om 22:30 aan gingen, dus je moest of in de zon blijven of je tafel steeds van plek wijzigen, maar als je hier van houdt, heb je geen probleem. We hebben hier een heerlijke tijd gehad, Bonnie heeft ons veel info toegestuurd en kaarten van het gebied, er was genoeg te doen. Strand was dicht bij, auto was wel moeilijk te parkeren daar maar als je verder doorrijdt naar betaald parkeren is er altijd wel plek en ben je voor rond de € 6,- klaar. Al met al, zeker een aanrader!

Dutch Review: Heerlijke vakantie gehad - Translation to English: "Had a wonderful holiday." Owner Response: It is a shame the holiday was marred with too much sun and not enough shade, and that we were not given the opportunity to redress the situation. Had we been told about the broken parasol we would have replaced it immediately - we always keep a spare! It is sad to become aware of any defect through a "review" on the website! There are 2 fixed parasols in the gardens, a large tree in the side garden, a wrap-around veranda where there is always shade, and 2 large sail-shades on the roof terrace. Similarly, we would have adjusted the grass sprinkler time if we'd been asked - although the setting of 22.30 hours does seem to be a sensible time for this essential activity. Our first priority is always our guests. Sincerely, Bonnie

Passámos uma semana na Casa Emília que nos proporcionou tempos extraordinários. É um espaço fantástico para férias em família de todas as idades. Muito completa ao nível de infraestruturas, com acessibilidade, conforto e diversão. As fotografias correspondem ao real mas vão muito para além do que é possível ver. Faz-nos sentir na nossa própria casa onde não nos falta nada. A região é muito bonita, perto das melhores praias algarvias e de excelentes restaurantes. Todo o apoio dado é indescritível. Desde as orientações dadas pela Bonnie e a disponibilidade dos Srs. que tomam conta da casa. Sentimo-nos como parte integrante de uma grande família. OBRIGADO!

Nous avons passé 2 semaines à la casa Emilia , et nous avons eu un séjour magnifique. La maison est très confortable , avec toutes les commodités , spacieuse , piscine extra . Les descriptions de l'annonce ainsi que les photos sont tout à fait conforme à la réalité des lieux. Merci aux 2 personnes qui s'occupent de la maison et du jardin pour leur efficacité et leur aide pour que nous puissions passer de belles vacances. A Great find. Superb villa.

We had a fantastic time, the villa was perfect for the six of us and we agreed it was one of our best holidays ever. The information about the area sent by Bonnie and Barry in advance (as well as loads at the villa) was very accurate and so useful; it saved us lots of time. There's plenty to do in the area and being so close to the Spanish border added the extra opportunity to eat out in Spain on occasions. The villa itself was also perfect for us in both size and in all the facilities provided. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone else and would love to visit it again. We had we had a very restful, enjoyable and memorable stay there.

SUPERBE VILLA, VACANCES FABULEUSES

Nous avons passé 3 semaines extraordinaires dans cette superbe villa : le confort, les équipements intérieurs et extérieurs sont 100% conformes à la description qui en est faite dans l'annonce. Tout était parfait, rien ne manquait ! Nous avons été accueillis par Pat et Franck, tous 2 très sympatiques, disponibles, discrets et efficaces. Le jardin à l'arrière de la maison est superbe de tranquilité, bien ombragé pour la sieste et les repas pris en extérieur ; ce fut un réel plaisir que de séjourner dans la Casa Emilia, nous y retournerons bien volontiers lors d'un prochain séjour dans l'Algarve. Thank you Bonnie for letting us renting your wonderful villa ; it was a great pleasure for us to spend our 3 weeks holidays there. Thank you for your kindness and for all you done for us. Férias inesquecíveis!

Estas foram das melhores férias que tivemos no Algarve! Éramos 3 casais e 5 crianças e a casa estava super bem equipada para este grupo, tudo o que poderíamos imaginar existia, inclusive uma caixa de costura, fantástico! A urbanização era muito calma, a casa tinha excelentes áreas interiores e exteriores, o espaço de relaxamento no primeiro andar é soberbo! A piscina sempre muito limpinha e apetecível! Tivemos igualmente o apoio constante dos agentes locais, mas não era preciso nada, uma vez que a casa tinha tudo e tinham pensado em todos os pormenores! Quanto a praia, frequentámos a Praia Verde que é muito, muito boa...aconselha-se igualmente uma ida ao restanrante Pézinhos na Areia! Decisidamente queremos voltar à Casa Emília. Bonnie, muito obrigada por tudo!

These were the best holidays we had in the Algarve! We were 3 couples and kids and the house was very well equipped for this group , everything we could imagine existed , including a sewing box , fantastic! Urbanization was very quiet , the house had excellent indoor and outdoor areas , relaxation space on the first floor is superb! The pool always very good clean and delicious ! We also had the constant support of local agents, but did not need anything, because the house had everything and had thought of every detail ! As for the beach , fellas Verde Beach which is very, very good ... also it recommend a trip to restanrante Pézinhos in the Sand ! Decisidamente want to go back to Casa Emilia . Bonnie , thank you for everything!

Great week last August

We had spent a wonderful week at casa Emilia, the weather was perfect and the house too. We found it very comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed. Mrs. Patt and Mr. Frank were really heplfull, the pool great for the children and for us.

Férias relaxantes

Pelo 2º ano estivemos na casa Emilia e certamente que iremos regressar. É o local perfeito para passar férias em familia sobretudo para quem tiver crianças. O espaço exterior é extremamente agradável com todo o mobiliário necessário (espreguiçadeira, colchões, toalhas, cadeiras), uma churrasqueira e muita relva e claro está a psicina. Dentro de casa também não falta nada incluindo bastantes brinquedos, filmes e jogos para as crianças. A cozinha tem todo o material necessário. O apoio é dado pelo Frank e a Patty que estão sempre disponíveis para alguma eventualidade. Até à Praia verde são cerca de 2 kms, mais um até Altura. Faltava o ar condicionado que nos disseram que será instalado em Setembro 2012. O Bairro é bastante sossegado não existindo qualquer foco de barulho nas proximidades.

Casa Emilia is so friendly, welcoming, attractive and well-equipped that you cannot fail to have a relaxing break here. It is lovely for families as it has so many areas in which to relax quietly or together. It is equally suitable for smaller family groups or even for a couple wishing to unwind.
