We had a wonderful week at this house. It worked perfectly with our 3 and 6 year old and was in an absolutely spot. We would definitely rent again if we come back!
Westport is always a place for us to go and rest and be restored. This was the first time we stayed at this property and hope we will be able to make this our go to place every year.
This was our 2nd time staying on this beautiful property. Canât beat the location and the peaceful nature of the neighborhood helps all of us relax at the end of a day on the beach. Scenic and quiet.
Our hosts are extremely communicative and made us feel at home.
Spectacular sunsets enjoyed from a spacious deck were a highlight of this large, well-equipped home. Great location with easy access to beach and village amenities. Chris and Laure were excellent hosts!
The hosts were helpful and welcoming. The house was well appointed. The location is fabulous. The sunsets over the river are amazing as is the view of the trees and fields.
It is impossible not to relax.
The house is just as advertised and the view is amazing. Kayaking and paddleboarding out to the island in the river was a highlight for the teens. Worth renting a SUP or kayak from Osprey for the week. Would definitely stay again.
Property was perfect for what we needed it for. We had friends who have a house on the ocean so we were mainly at this house at night for dinners and sleeping. Nice area to bring bikes and ride down to the beach. We enjoyed our stay!
We had the best week! The house is cozy and comfortable. The deck and porch provide the BEST views of the Westport River. The location of the house is so convenient and an easy drive to anything you need. Communication with the hosts was great and easy. We hope to book this house again next time we come back to the area! Highly recommend
This spacious house is bright, open and with wonderful views up and down the Westport River. We appreciated the extra sitting areas as well as the sunny deck and covered screen porch. This location was perfect for my husband and grown children since we were visiting with extended family nearby. A beautiful spot.
This property is great for multi age families. Our family shared the main floor but we had top and lower level sleeping areas that worked out nice. The yard is wonderful and spacious especially when little ones need to play off energy. Its a very quiet neighborhood and centrally located.
Great setting and views. Nice quiet neighborhood. Easy checkin. Clean. Kitchen was well stocked.
Our only issue was the steps were very steep and we didnât notice that in the listing.
We spent a lot of time relaxing on the deck with the calming water view. In the heat of the day, the shadier screened in porch was a nice option. The house is well air conditioned, which was great.
Horseneck beach is a short drive - We also took walks at Allens Pond Wildlife sanctuary at the end of Horseneck Road. Farmland stretches all along the road to the beach. There are plenty of small produce stands throughout the area, cute shops, cafes, and restaurants in Westport and Little Compton. We love the area and had an excellent stay in Chris and Laureâs place!
This is a comfortable quiet house that makes you feel at home the minute you walk in. Living-dining areas open and airy and perfect for hanging out. Drawback for my self and 3 friends was that only one twin bedroom is located on main floor. Master is up one flight and 3 beds are in a finished basement area which is damp and chilly. A working humidifier runs constantly and must be emptied 3 times per day. Both bathrooms are only accessible via stairs including one basement stair which is quite steep. We were 4 ladies in our 70âs so this feature was not the best. If you are in this age group and are not comfortable with stairs then this house is not for you. Otherwise it was a lovely stay and a welcome retreat from the pace of NYC.
Beautiful moon rise over fields, millions of stars. Stunning sunsets over river. Very well equipped house. Comfortable. I recommend the pull out sofa to wake up to the best river views.
Canât say enough about the tantalizing views of Westport River from the comforts of this cozy home! There was ample space to spread out or gather. The house was well-kept and amply supplied. Chris welcomed us warmly and responded promptly to our questions. Commune with nature in the surrounding beaches and trails. Enjoyed our week in Westport!
We are natives of the area, raised in Bristol County, Massachusetts and Bristol County, Rhode Island. Chris came home to Westport after going away to college and grad school, and Westport became home for Laure 10 years later when we married. Originally our "honeymoon cottage," this is the home where we started our family for the first five years of our life together. After we moved to Michigan and now Florida, our Westport home became the place for our extended family gatherings at least once or twice a year. In-between, it has been a place where we've been able to share the beauty and tranquility of Westport with so many other families through VRBO. We have always seen this home as a gift of the Lord, to be shared as He sees fit. "By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches." (Proverbs 24:3-4)
The neighborhood of "Islands View Acres" is such a quiet and relaxing place to enjoy the beauty of nature and the fellowship of friends and family. The house is set on a hill, giving a bird's eye view of the estuary known as the East Branch of the Westport River. It is also tucked to one side of the neighborhood, abutting open land on the south. In the winter, this affords amazing views all the way down the river. Westport itself is an oasis of rural beauty and ocean influence, off the beaten path.
The house is on three levels, which affords three private spaces for families to spread out. It also has a big backyard, two porches (an open sun deck and a screened-in porch), and deeded water access to the estuary via a pier and boat launch.
