Alyeska Ride Vacation

This studio is ideally located right on the slope and is easy access to a lift and to the day lodge base area. The Sitzmark, bakery and several other shops are in the same complex. If you are doing a solo trip or a couples ski/ride vacation this place is perfect.

Location, Location, Location 💕

You can literally ski in/out off the back balcony/deck of this condo, which makes for a truly amazing, hassle-free ski vacation. This quaint, quiet studio condo has everything you need including a fully size kitchen. Parking right in front of the building made it easy to carry gear up to 2nd floor condo. Absolutely will be back to this great location!

Shower didn’t work, couldn’t wash myself or hair. No black out curtains just little white blinds on an entire walk of subdued in Alaska! So the sun woke me at 5:30 am after I didn’t get in snd to bed till 1:30 am after traveling all day. Property looks nothing like the photo so once the shuttle dropped me off I had no clue where to haul my luggage through all the gravel parking lots, it’s late at night snd I’m a female traveling alone. Wanted to splurge on myself and I was SO disappointed. Glad I only booked one night. I want half my money back!

Nice little slopeside studio

I had a positive experience overall. The place was big enough for me and my ski gear, but would be a little tight for two if you pack heavy. The building is a bit dated (e.g. kitchen light flickers when other electric turns on), but thats not a big deal. It is ski in ski out off the shared balcony. Downstairs in the same building is the Bake Do and the beer/wine store. They even left a growler in the kitchen that I made use of. Parking isn't great. You have to hope there is a spot otherwise you'll be a ways away.

Someone forgot to let unit management know

When we checked in the bed was unmade, unit not cleaned, big hold in bathroom wall where bathtub faucet had been, dishes in dishwasher, dirty towels in sink. Local Management was clearly not told of this and they were helpful to find us another property which was very nice

Mixed bag

The bedspread was torn, there were dirty dishes in the cupboard, the fake tree was very dusty as were the baseboards. The location is awesome and kitchen (besides dirty dishes) was great. There's no TV which we were surprised about, and the only comfy seating was a loveseat made more for one than two. Someone with a key to our place tried to come in without knocking early one morning; luckily the deadbolt was locked. So kind of mixed. I thought for the price that it should at least be clean.

crowded and boring

kitchen and bathroom and bed were clean. But: a baseboard was falling off, shared porch paint was peeling, fake plant was old and faded. No TV, the town closes up at 6pm and so we were bored. No AC and it was quite warm with only one small window to open with a filthy screen. Sofa stunk of sweat and had dirty/stained pillow that was gross; and you sunk down so far you couldn't get out without assistance. So crowded, big fake tree needs to go. Bar stools very uncomfortable. Had to use the garbage disposal cover for a makeshift tub stopper that sort of worked. Complained and no one responded till the third day, and then it was a voice mail. Never found the property manager. Would not recommend till they upgrade and fix.

Third stay in this unit....

Basically we love staying here when we have shows to go to at the Sitzmark. But check-in is always a hassle. Emails say we need to stop in the office but no one is ever there when we arrive. This time we had early check in available and the email stated to check in to the office after 11. We arrived at 12:30 and no one was there. Nothing in the red box on how to check in and emails from that morning had no other check in info. We called two numbers for help but basically got none. So I went back to my email from earlier that week and luckily there was info about a lock box with the passcode and keys inside. No other emails or the reservation info within the app contained that information. So we took the keys and opened up the unit and checked in almost 2 hours after we arrived. We dropped by the office later to find out what the deal was and was told that was all we had to do, open the lock box, etc. But it would’ve been helpful if instructions were more clear in the app and within EACH emails. In any case we have confusion with check-in every time we come here. I’d like to see this cleared up in the future. The unit is fine. Bed is comfy. It’s always clean. We bring our iPad so no tv isn’t an issue. But we were going to cook breakfast Sunday morning and noticed there was no spatula for turning eggs and pancakes. Not a big deal as we decided it would be more enjoyable to go downstairs to The Bake Shop and not have to clean up after ourselves ;-)

Poor communication, never received check in email with instructions. First call did not result in clear instructions. To find locked boxes at night arrival was difficult, once we found them there was no lighting to see them. Had to place 2nd call to Vacassa to tell them our condo lock box was missing, then was told to use row D & column 6 to locate our condo key box. That information was priceless what we needed to get our correct box of keys for the condo. It was dark with no lighting in this basement outdoor covered setting. This made it difficult. The condo's first impression was an awful smell, like old food, went to open deck sliding door & it smelled like skunk butt, our neighbor on the openly connected deck was enjoying his Mary Jane. The bathroom fan did not turn on with the switch, but started after 20 minutes on its own, then would shut off & on randomly. The fan did not remove bathroom odor or humidity after showering. The bathroom sink cold water streamed out bleaker, like half the diameter of an average pencil diameter. The bedroom corner above the bed had two nice sized cob web's. The bed was lumpy in middle & made significant creaking with movement. The location was nice. But pictures showed a private deck with a grill. There was no private deck, no grill. There was an overgrown wild looking bush or tree abstracting all view. Disappointed is the least I can say.

Good for the price (summer time)

Room was a nice size, kitchen is nice to have even though we barely used it. The bed was very loud, the tiniest movement sounded like it was going to fall apart.

Beautiful place for two. Clean and quiet. We always try to book remote places and this is one of those. Very beautiful scenery drive to get there.

Good bang for the buck

Very nice, clean condo. Beautiful location with lots of restaurant options nearby. The door needed maintenance and their was no soap furnished so we had to purchase some before we could shower. Management apologized for both and it was not a big deal. I would stay here again and will recommend it to others.

Some maintenance needed.

I’m not sure who is responsible, the owner, the resort or previous occupants, but our particular unit was badly in need of some general maintenance. The door to the unit did not shut properly; a cupboard door fell off its hinges; and the screen to the one and only window was very dirty (this had been mentioned by a previous occupant in their rating). There was very little communication about the check-in process: where, when, and how, compared with other HomeAway listings. A detailed sheet describing the check out process was very much appreciated. Future occupants may also want to know how small this condo is. One room consists of kitchen, bedroom and living area (one live seat with ottoman), plus bathroom. I didn’t realize they made condos this minuscule. Thankfully, at the end of a long day, all we wanted was a bed and a shower - and food! Restaurants were within walking distance!
