Enjoyed my stay
A wonderful place with wonderful people!
Where do I start? The house is great. It has everything you need. Fully supplied kitchen, cooler, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, and beach towels. My hosts were amazing. I do believe we have found forever friends. The view we had from our window was exactly what I needed to see every morning and every evening. We will be back again and again and again…

cute space - great view
This studio apartment has everything needed in its compact floor plan. Comfotable bed, comfy TV area and dining with a view. A great space for a couple or a single person. I enjoyed my stay.
Wonderful Time in Eleuthera
My girlfriend and I were staying at this lovely place for 6 nights. It was even better than we excpected. We had everything we needed. Full equipped kitchen, big fridge, microwave etc... So its no problem to cook yourself. TV/Wifi if you need it. There is even a washing machine/Dryer. The place was clean and perfect for the time we were there with great view on the atlantic ocean. Its close to Rainbow beach which was one of our favorites because its really clean compared to the other ones and no seagrass lying around in the sand. You can see if Josette has her golf cart available to get there. Otherwise we recommend a car and the best is Jeep/4WD, the roads that go to other beaches are really rough. Another beach we loved is Twin Cove Beach or Poponi Beach where you find Tippy's Restaraunt where they have delicious food.
Josette and her sister were very helpful and responded always immediately on any request. We would definately recommend this place to our friends and might be comming back one day!
Thanks again for everything.

Great experience at Jus Breath and Eleuthera
My wife and I had a great stay in Eleuthera at Jus Breath. This is a perfect place to for the budget conscious travelers, while still offering exceptional amenities and views of both the Caribbean and Atlantic. The studio itself has everything you need from a well appointed kitchen (we made a donation of a chef's knife; dicing garlic with a steak knife got a bit old) washer and dryer, towels, beach towels, beach chair, and cooler. The beach chairs and coolers were a huge plus for us. There is also a kayak available, but we didn't get around to taking advantage of it with some bad weather. It's a very clean, comfortable and relaxing spot.
Josette and Malisa were extremely helpful along the way. Josette was always very prompt in responding to our questions as we were setting up travel arrangements and Malisa was close by if we ever had questions. When we were heading home, my wife left her cell phone in the studio (we're pretty awesome like that) and Malisa and Josette went above and beyond by driving all the way back up to the airport to drop it off for us just in the nick of time while we were boarding the plane. Thanks again for being so generous!
A couple of notes about our stay that you might find useful: Remember that Eluethera is predominantly a cash only island and can be quite expensive (A bag or tortilla chips and a jar of salsa will run around $6 each; juice can be as much as $12). Eating out is expensive as well, as are tours (around 100-150 per person for an hour) so plan accordingly. We didn't book a car the entire time we stayed. Rainbow Bay had enough for us to enjoy on the days we didn't have a car, just make sure one of Josette's golf carts is available for days you don't have a rental. Our favorite food on the island was the Governor's Harbor Friday Night Fish Fry (awesome experience all around) and the Shack and Chill (new place just south of Jame's Cistern -- perfect for watching sunsets and Bahamian owned). Mostly we cooked for ourselves. We got fruit and veggies from Hearty Mows just north of Rainbow Bay and fish from the local docks, East and Final, or what I speared. East and Final in James Cistern and the Gas Station in Govs Harbor had the best prices on food. Our favorite beaches were Poponi, French Leave, and Gaulding Cay. Rainbow Bay Beach was great as well for snorkeling. Hope this is helpful and have a great trip!
Less than expected
This trip was one of the most stressful we've ever had. No one told us it was a cash only island and that gas was $6.00 a gallon, food from the grocery was exorbitant and that all but a couple of restaurants would be open since it was off season. I guess I should have researched better. Josette and Malissa were very helpful, but we wish we had more info. before making the trip. Probably wouldn't have gone. We found Pascal's Restaurant on our own on our last night on the island and wished we had known about it sooner. Sits right on the ocean and has the best, most reasonably priced food with a great infinity pool and beach below. We could have spent a whole day there. Someone mentioned the car is a gas guzzler. We found this to be true spending $60 on gas. I think we left a little more than 1/4 tank as required. Nothing is within walking distance so you have to have the car. The roads are poorly marked and beaches on our map were not easy to find. We wouldn't have found French Leave Beach if it hadn't been for flagging down another American couple that happened to have a house in the area. They took us down long winding roads and we were finally able to see the beach we had come for. Penelope Cruz was at a restaurant that we stopped at, but we weren't dressed properly to go in since we were headed for the beach. The accommodations are ok, but the bed was very rickety and looked to have a leg about to break off. Would have liked a bigger tv. as we stayed in most nights due to the rain and fear of driving on the road after dark as warned by Malissa. Also there was nothing open. Kel'Ds Restaurant was a great suggestion. Low priced and friendly people. Also close to the house. Found a great snorkeling spot at the closed for the season Rainbow Inn near the house. The water is beautiful, clear and calm. Very inviting. The flights are strangely arranged as well. There is one flight per day to the island from Nassau. We spent almost as much time at the airport as we did at the island.
This is not a vacation I would recommend or do again.
I am truly sorry to hear of your trip being lees then you expected. As I'm reading your review I note several things. Eleuthera is not for everyone as it is a Long Island with numerous beaches, lots of bush and minimal people. It requires more then three days of vacation to truly have enough time to explore, get lost and turn every trip into its own adventure which mostly all of our guests do that. Anyone looking for a resort style vacation, like what Pascal offers, would not enjoy this island and would be better suited going to Nassau and staying at Atlantis. This is an island for people who want to be in nature, search and navigate the hundreds of beach access roads and basically unwind doing nothing and being around no one. The food is costly depending on where you are coming from. Florida & Eleuthera prices are comparable. Our many reviews suggest that, and we often give advise for our guests to bring their own meat on dry ice in their luggage or eat very simple when they arrive as basic food necessities can be found. Gas is also high and because the island is long you will spend money on that. You definitely need a vehicle to explore as each settlement is 20 minutes or more apart. Eleuthera is once again not the place if you have to have everything at your finger tips and readily available within a close distance. As to airlines there are three airlines that come from Nassau daily totaling 7 flights starting from 7am to 5pm. There are 2-3 flights daily from Florida. I'm not sure where you got the information from on the flight schedules but you had many more options then you know of. Jus Breathe Studio is one of the lowest accommodations in Eleuthera and is generally not rented by people who intend to stay in most of their trip. It's a small compact studio that gives you plenty bang for a buck. It's not large enough to support a large screen T.V. due to the distance away from the T.V. that is required. The bed is not on legs but on top of draws and I had no complaints prior of there being an issue but I will be sure to check on this in case the bed frame has shifted off the base. Overall I am sorry your experience was not as great as all of our other guests but it's perhaps just not a good fit for what you like in a vacation place.
