The sweetest little cabin, perfect for our family getaway! So nice to have upstairs and downstairs sitting areas to accomodate the teens and adults. We cooked almost all our meals in the fully stocked kitchen and took advantage of the kayaks and the dock for fishing! Enjoyed by all, 17 years to 70 years!
We loved the house, it had everything we needed and was beautiful and clean. Easy to check in and to leave, would definitely stay again. Four teens downstairs left plenty of room for three adults upstairs. Beautiful lake.
Everything was just as you would hope for in choosing a place to stay. Very kind and professional host, immaculate property, care taken with decorations, beds, all the details and anything you might possible want or need. It was so nice having breakfast on the screened porch overlooking the lake!
The screened in decks are a magical place to spend time reading, sipping on coffee in the morning and just soaking in the peacefulness of the lake. The house is setup perfect for a family stay. We will be back.
We truly enjoyed our stay on Lake Malone. The home is cozy and has thoughtful decorations throughout. Great views of the lake and immediate water access! Also enjoyed the fenced in yard for our dog! The home has many nice touches of items you need for your stay!
The view of the lake is just what I was looking for. We loved the screened in porches, the lights at night, and the whole house was wonderfully furnished. The kitchen was supplied well with everything but our basic food. The downstairs made a nice separate space for our adult children to have their own space and still had another bedroom for a couple friends to come and visit. We really appreciated having the kayaks and all the lifejackets available. We totally enjoyed our stay here.
it was absolutely wonderful. Very peaceful. The weather was great. Loved being right on the water. House was so nice. We rented a pontoon from the marina 1 day. Did wine and Canvas one night. Had a couple movie night. Went to Nashville one day. Nashville
We have stayed at this lake home several times and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The steps to the dock are minimal, which you don't find at Lake Malone. Being within walking distance to the marina is a bonus. Having the bedroom and space downstairs worked out great when our son joined us for a few days. Couldn't ask for a better location and layout. Communication with host was great!
Everything about our stay was wonderful. We brought our boat and docked it right in the back yard. All sport lake to be able to ski and fish. Even some cliff jumping available. We were able to bring our dog which was great too. The house was so well decorated and had the perfect amount of space for my family of four...could have easily had a couple more guests come with. Kitchen had all of our cooking needs. Family room had games to play and some great books to read. TV had Netflix and hulu. My tmobile cell phone had no reception but the house has wifi. Owner had kayaks and floats for days we stayed at the dock. Water was deep enough and clean to let the kids jump off the dock and swim around. Perfect vacation. Thank you for letting us stay!
We truly enjoyed our stay at Camp Harmony Hill. The views of the lake from the screened in porch are so relaxing. The house has all the amenities you will need. You can rent a pontoon boat at the marina and dock it. You can jump of the dock and have lake entertainment all day long. The closest Walmart is about 30 mins away, something to keep in mind, but with Walmart pickup it makes grocery shopping a breeze. There is a restaurant near by, but we didnât try it. You are about 1.5 hours away from mammoth caves or Nashville. Thereâs a little beach area you can go to on the lake. The location is remote, but if youâre looking to disconnect and focus on your family, this is the place to be. The only advice Iâd give is thing is bring mosquito repellent, theyâre abundant in the area. We will definitely be back.
We stayed over Spring Break. There weren't many people around as I'm sure April is still the off-season. It was relaxing and quiet on the lake. We watched the beautiful sunrises in the mornings. We enjoyed the multiple decks and screened-in decks although there were no bugs during our stay. The house suits 6 people perfectly. The owners are caring and add the nice touches to make the place cosy and welcoming. We walked to the local restaurant. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and the food was good. It's a nice little neighborhood to take walks. The rocks and ledges add to the beautiful experience. The house is well kept. We had no issues at all. It's very clear the owners love their getaway home and take good care of it. Also, the Internet service and TV worked great for us. It was an easy drive to make a day trip to Bowling Green. So if you want a quiet getaway with the ability to make day trips to the tourist sites, this is your place. We would definitely stay again.
We live in Northern Kentucky and needed a change of scenery during the pandemic. This cabin was just what we needed. The cabin was clean and as pictured. My teen daughter loved the downstairs bedroom with the barn door. It's the little things. lol. Our dogs loved sunning with us on the dock. We enjoyed dinner on the screened in porch overlooking the lake each evening. The kayaks were great fun. The views from the water just a little way down the lake are amazing and something you would expect to see out West. My husband and I, along with our two dogs, enjoyed daily walks in the neighborhood and the surrounding streets. We enjoyed a few hikes at Lake Malone State Park. It was a great trip. The owners at the Marina were very friendly and we ordered a meal to go from there one evening. It was delicious. Other than that, I brought all my own food. The nearest grocery story is quite a distance away.
I went with my husband, two boys, ages 14yo and 7yo, and my parents. There was plenty of space for all of us. We had an absolutely amazing time. The house is beautiful with amazing views. We would relax at night on the upper screened in porch and watch the boats go by. The owner responded to my text within minutes. My boys loved fishing from the dock...... Fishing was pretty good. We would return in a heartbeat.
House is exactly as pictured and absolutely perfect for a peaceful stay. House is well stocked.
This property is perfect for a peaceful getaway. House is well stocked and exactly as it appears in listing. Lake is beautiful and people in the area are friendly. It is about a 10 mile drive to town for groceries or shopping. Small price to pay for peace and solitude. I had to change reservation dates after change in our vacation availability. John was helpful and accommodating in makIng those changes. I emailed Catherine several times with questions, and she was always quick to respond and very helpful.
I'm originally from NY and have lived in Nashville for 20 years. I work at a nonprofit arts organization and run music and youth education programs in a local park. My wife Catherine is originally from North Carolina and passionately roots for the Tar Heels. We love living in Nashville with our infant daughter, dog and cat. We also run an Airbnb in town with hundreds of five star reviews. When we have free time, we enjoy relaxing at the lake in the mountains.
We custom built this home in 2013. We affectionally refer to it as "Camp Harmony Hill." The use of the word "camp" is taken from the Great Camps of the Adirondack Mountains, which were grandiose family compounds of cabins that were built in the latter half of the nineteenth century on upstate NY lakes. The camps were summer homes for the wealthy, where they could relax, host or attend parties, and enjoy the wilderness. The style of the Great Camps was influenced by the British Arts and Crafts Movement and the related American Craftsman style. Although we are far from wealthy, and our house is far from grandiose, we love our comfy cabin on the lake. Spending time there is reminiscent of being away at summer camp or childhood family vacations.
