Our stay was outstanding. The cabin is beautiful and well furnished. At the top of a breathtaking driveway, it sits above a stunning lake in New York's wine country, We enjoyed morning coffee with a bright aunrise at the waterfront, then explored the countryside's waterfalls and wineries during many afternoons. What a great location!Joey was a helpful host, providing all the information we needed. It was a magical week, and we hope to return.
Staying on the lake was great. It was so nice to have our own spot to go boating and fishing. The house probably was nice a while back but it definitely needed a deep clean. There was a smell from the upstairs bathroom (which I now see that another review also mentioned). The microwave had food residue inside and the oven was not clean. There were a lot of cobwebs throughout. While it was a great location and we had a nice time, I would not return to this house bc of the lack of cleanliness. Also, after we booked the property I was sent an email asking me to bring things like extra toilet paper, garbage bags, paper towels etc. For me this was annoying as it was another list of items to think about that I would think should be plentiful in an house rental. We were also asked to put in 2 loads of laundry. We stripped the beds and washed and dried the sheets, and put the towels in the washing machine. Getting out at 10am and doing this in addition to packing up was another not expected thing in a house rental. Overall we had a fun time and I would go back to the area, but not this specific house. And yes the driveway was very steep so we generally parked on the street which was fine. Made packing and unpacking the car a bit harder but not a deal breaker.
As many families that stay here the place should be disinfected after every use especially the bathrooms! The upstairs bathroom wasnât cleaned it had pubic hair, hair and crap in the tub and all over the floor! The toothbrush holder had mold in it! There were cobwebs in every corner of the bedrooms and behind every bed headboard, and sides of the bed, they have never been dusted or vacuumed for a long time! The cabin itself sits across the road high on a hill with a very steep driveway. The only thing Lakeview is the dock and lake toys with a couple out buildings. The amenities to the cabin were good, tv, towels, dishes, ect. Beautiful view of the porch looking down to the lake.
We had a lovely week at Joeyâs cabin! Keuka lake is a magical place. What we loved:- The cabin is spacious - plenty of towels and showers had delightfully hot water- multiple outdoor seating options with beautiful views - although itâs a hike, the cabin is secluded and quiet, very peaceful! There are a few areas for improvement like better seating options by the water, the oven needing a thorough cleaning or upgrade, the single full bed is quite firm and uncomfortable, and less clutter in the house to make it more of a blank slate for guests.
Check in was a breeze since the instructions given were very thorough and detailed. Cabin was clean, neat and stocked with amenities as advertised. Lakefront was beautiful with lots of water sports equipment available to use. Driveway and walkway to the lake front is a little steep which may pose a challenge for those with mobility issues. Host was promptly responsive to any questions we had.
The house is large, lovely and serene in the trees. The driveway is a beast, even parking on it, I was surprised every morning that the car hadnât rolled down. Itâs another hike down to the water and back up. We loved the boats and floaties and really used them. You just have to really be prepared to walk steep hills up and down all day.
Had a great time, as mentioned in many other reviews the driveway is steep. Loved swimming in the lake, proximity to wineries and multiple state parks.
The cabin was beautiful and deck was amazing with incredible views. Joey our host was informative and responsive. We loved the location. Downside was the driveway could not even drive up it after 2 attempts parked on the street. The driveway is steeper than pictures show.
The house was nice and we loved to it on the front deck overlooking the lake. The neighborhood was very quite. Reading some reviews before hand, the common complaint was the steep driveway, two of us have some problems with our knees but we managed. It was the steepest driveway I have ever encountered. One thing that let me down was that the house is not actually on the lake, only a piece of property across the street from the house. There is a bulkhead and a peer there and not a beach type access to the water. This was a problem for my brother who brought his own kayaks and really needed the beach for entering the water. It was a little too windy for kayaking anyway, so as it turned out, he launched at a park in Penn Yan once and didn't like the windy conditions anyway. Just a warning for others. If you plan on preparing any meals, make sure you bring a knife sharpener like I did. The knives would cut warm butter and that's about it. All and all we had a good time touring the wineries and breweries but would not use this place again because of the couple drawbacks
It was a great stay in this cozy cabin! Our only complaints are the lack of overhead lights in the bedrooms and the very steep driveway. After two attempts to drive up the driveway, we resorted to parking on the street and walking up.
Beautiful property that is extremely well stocked/furnished. Have stayed at several VRBOâs and often times there are kitchen items missing but not at this location. Lake views off the two tier deck or front porch are stunning. Excellent location to visit the various wineries and distilleries around the lake.we had a short few hour power outage and Joey was quick to update us.On the listing it states STEEP tricky drive and this is NOT an exaggeration! We only made it 1/2 way up in my FWD SUV.
The cabin is charming and well stocked. It was clean and the beds and linens were comfortable. What came as a surprise was the steepness of the driveway. We had 2 older women in our group and one woman in a walking boot from breaking her foot. The top of the driveway is at least a 45 degree angle. It's very very steep and very hard to walk on and drive down. You have to back down the driveway and then make a 90 degree bend in the middle of it. Please be advised of this before booking especially if you have older or disabled members in your party.
The location was right across the street from the lake and the lake views from the porch were stunning! The only drawbacks were the musty smell of the wood cabin, which is natural as it is so close to a big body of water & the Teflon pots and pans in the kitchen. Otherwise, it was cozy and comfortable for all of us 6 friends to stay in
We had a wonderful long weekend away at this cabin! The driveway is notably steep, but the views are worth it. If we were to stay again, we would pack our trunks differently to prevent chasing water bottles down the driveway upon arrival.
Clean, cozy and functional! The kids enjoyed playing the Wii downstairs while we enjoyed sipping coffee upstairs. Thank you, Joey!
Lovely spacious house. Kitchen has everything you need. We loved sitting on the deck for breakfast. We stayed for 4 nights. The area is beautiful. We walked the gorges of Watkins Glenn and Lucifer Falls;visited wineries ;made use of the lovely waterfront lovely waterfrony
