Regarding the open-air design and environmental factors: You are absolutely correct that our villa's open-air design – while providing stunning ocean views and natural ventilation – does come with trade-offs in a tropical environment. As stated in our Visitor's Guide, this property is located in a tropical setting with an open-concept design, which means guests should expect occasional challenges with heat, insects, and wildlife. This is an inherent characteristic of luxury outdoor Caribbean living that we clearly communicate to guests before booking. Regarding the bird nest and mosquitoes: The bird nest in the kitchen stairwell was an isolated incident and has since been addressed. As for mosquitoes, while we recommend keeping windows and doors closed during peak insect hours (dawn and dusk) and using the provided mosquito repellent measures, we acknowledge that some exposure is unavoidable in this tropical location. Regarding the Wi-Fi: Thank you for the suggestion about signal extenders. We will explore this option to improve connectivity on the second floor and in outdoor areas. Regarding the mouse incident: We want to clarify an important point: The mouse was attracted to the villa because food residue was not properly managed. According to our property manager, food remnants were left accessible in the bedroom and kitchen, and our staff had already warned your group multiple times about keeping food stored properly and not leaving dishes unattended. This issue was fundamentally caused by a breach of our house rules, not a deficiency in the property itself. This is clearly stated in our Visitor's Guide, which all guests receive before arrival. Regarding the air conditioning: We sincerely apologize for the air conditioning unit that did not function properly. Our property manager arranged for a repair attempt, but unfortunately it required more extensive work. This has since been addressed, and we have filed a claim with the supplier regarding the faulty installation. In closing: We appreciate you sharing your experience. However, we must note that many of the challenges you encountered – heat in common areas, insects, and the need for proper food storage – are standard realities of tropical, open-concept villa living and are disclosed in our booking information and Visitor's Guide. We welcome guests who understand and appreciate this unique Caribbean experience. For those seeking a more traditional enclosed home with climate control throughout, a different property type may be more suitable. We value your feedback and will continue to improve where we can, but we also want to be transparent that this villa's charm and appeal come precisely from its open design and connection to nature.
