Great location and facilities - ideal for the National Parks in the area and Crazy Horse memorial - plenty of space. Only stayed two nights - plenty of places to eat in town which was a short walk away.
It was fine. Itâs old and could use some updates but it worked out and was close to groceries, food,
It was fine! Weâre used to a little newer and nicer accommodations but it had comfortable beds and was close to amenities needed. Could use some updates.
Loved this cabin and the grounds around it as well as the town of Custer. Such a great place to stay and so clean, cozy, comfy and with all that we needed to enjoy our time there. Would totally stay here again!!
This was the perfect launching point for our road trip. We enjoyed spending time in the state park, Wind Cave and Mount Rushmore. The location was close to town so it made it very convenient yo go back out after a long day exploring. I would stay here again!
Very nice property. Clean and quiet. Met other people that had also rented a cabin and they joined us for a fire. Would highly recommend this property.
The property was nice and clean. Crystal always responded quickly and was very nice. The air conditioner in the back bedroom hadn't worked the first night and it was fixed promptly when we told her about it.
If you're going to Custer, this is THE perfect place to stay. Walking distance to grocery and to downtown, but easy drive as well since it's only a couple blocks off the main road. Close to everything, yet also nice and quiet. Everything about the check-in, check-out is super easy. The owner even let me ship items ahead of time and it was waiting for us when we got there. Kitchen has everything you need for a short stay (no oven, just stove) . And an adorable welcome basket. You have neighbors, but you don't hear them. (my dad has hearing issues, so we were pretty loud at times!) This particular cabin has a little step up into the kitchen, which we just placed the rug over just in case so we wouldn't miss it in the dark. It's a cozy place, so 4 adults may be a bit tight, but definitely great for 2 or 3 or a family of 4. We highly recommend Ponderosa Place!
Ponderosa Place has become our 'go-to' MUST-STAY VRBO in Custer for many reasons. Our host, Crystal, is warm and welcoming and ready to help with anything. We had a FedEx package coming to us and she assured us she'd be looking for its arrival in case it went to one of the other cabins. (it arrived safely.) Our cabin is absolutely perfect for two of us, with room for all our bike gear and not feel like we're tripping over ourselves. The bed is comfortable; the shower is terrific. We used the kitchen more this time and enjoyed having meals in a homey environment.
Ponderosa Place is situated in a quiet neighborhood up on a hill, and the night star viewing is wonderful. We saw a harvest moon that felt like we could reach out and grab it!
Ponderosa Place is located just one block off the George S. Mickelson Trail and what a bonus that is to hop on your bike and be on the trail in a couple minutes!
The cabin is conveniently close to the grocery store (two blocks away) and downtown Custer for dining (less than 10 minute walk).
We plan to stay here every time we're in Custer! HIGHLY recommend.
She was very helpful on we we can park our pickup and trailer, also the place was very clean and perfect for 3 adults. Walking distance to downtown was really nice! We would stay again!
We loved the location of this property. It is perfectly central to see Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park. We loved how clean it was! The only issues we had were the main bed is very hard and uncomfortable. There is also something going on with the floor in the kitchen and bedroom... it is wobbly, and seems to be uneven or something. As long as you don't drink too much, you will be OK!
We really enjoyed our stay here! It was a quick walk to town for shopping, restaurants, and the Mickelson Trail. The cabin features a comfortable bed and sofa plus all the kitchen utensils and bath accessories we needed. It was an enjoyable stay!
I brought my grandson to see Mt Rushmore and other sights. Ponderosa Place was perfect for us, it has everything we need! The swing set was great for burning off his energy at the end of the day and being able to cook instead of eating out every meal was great. Crystal is a great host!
We stayed at Crystal's place for several nights in September. The location of the rental is so convenient, not only to town, but also to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park. We were easily able to explore all of these destinations without a long car ride. The proximity to downtown Custer is great too, a short car ride, or you are within walking distance if you choose.
The rental itself was very nice, as pictured. It was very clean. I would definitely stay here again. I will warn you to watch out for your toes when walking into the bedroom, its a little tight walking around the bottom of the bed, but overall it's a wonderful place!
We love staying in or near Custer because it's a bit quieter than the rest of the Black Hills in the evenings. This was no exception. The cabin was a few blocks off the main business district so it was quiet and out of the traffic but a very easy walk to restaurants and gift shops.
Everything was clean and ready for us. Check-in with the code was easy. Thank you!
