Hikers rest was just what we were looking for, a little rustic cabin in the mountains.
The cabin is nestled up steep in the mountains. It is the perfect place to go if you're wanting to get away. The cabin has rustic charm that is super cute. If you're looking for updated amenities, this might not be for you. But, if you're looking for a super cute place in the mountains to reconnect with nature and be central to hikes and other great little towns, Hikers rest is the place to go!
The location was convenient. The place was tidy and big enough for 2 people. The only negative was having to take garage to a recycling center before we left. I did not appreciate having to put stinky garbage in my Cadillac :( This shouldnât be my responsibility.
This serene treehouse of a cabin is aptly named! In our online search for an affordable place to stay while we explored a small corner of North Georgia, this Gem popped off the screen. It did not disappoint from the very first correspondence with Pete to the final chat the evening after we returned home. The cabin is his families treasure and they have chosen to share it in this way. Many recent upgrades and thoughtful improvements make it especially comfortable. It was such a treat to enjoy the expansive deck and not hear any road noise or other modern life disturbances. We hiked all the tops three attractions in the area, Tallulah Falls, Minnihaha, and Panther Creek Trail. Pete was eager to please and assure of our experience being positive while visiting Lakemount. The mountain roads are winding, the waterfalls are inspiring, the mountain Laurel is abundant and this trip was made all the better because of this wee cabin in the wood! Thank you Serrano Family! We hope to return! Warmly, Tom and Mary from Maine
We had a wonderful time at the Serrano's cabin. It is in a very peaceful setting, yet you are close to Clayton, Georgia, where there are reataurants, grocery stores and such. They have a huge deck on the back, that we sat out on both nights, right in the woods. Also right down the road is Tallulah Gorge. It is definitely a place to check out. Another place to check out is a little road side store called Goats on the Roof. You have to check it out.
The owner, Pete, was also a great guy. He called us on our way home to see how our visit was. I highly recommend renting this property for the week or weekend.
