Welcome to our cozy Swedish log cabin at Kvarnviks Gård – a peaceful countryside retreat just 2.5 km from the sea and especially well suited for families.

One thing that makes your stay easy from the moment you arrive: bed linen, towels, shower products and final cleaning are all included in the price. No need to bring your own linen, rent towels separately or spend the last morning cleaning the cottage – simply arrive, settle in and enjoy your holiday.

Close to the Sea

The beautiful white sandy beach at Beddingestrand is only around 2.5 km away across the fields.

You can reach the coast by bike in around 10 minutes or enjoy a countryside walk towards the sea, passing an alpaca farm along the way. By car, the route to the beach is approximately 6 km.

Kvarnviks Gård is also a great base for exploring southern Skåne, with coastal villages, beaches, countryside cafés, wineries and scenic cycling and walking routes nearby.

A Cozy Little Log Cabin in the Swedish Countryside

Tucked away in a private and peaceful corner of Kvarnviks Gård, our traditional wooden cottage offers a charming rural atmosphere surrounded by open fields and nature.

The cottage is approximately 25 m² and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Inside you will find a compact living and dining area, a small but well-equipped kitchenette and a private bathroom with shower.

There is also an HDTV with IPTV, offering a selection of Nordic channels as well as some German TV. Chromecast is available too, making it easy to stream your own content during your stay.

The sleeping area has a king-size double bed as well as an additional 90 cm single bed, making the cottage particularly suitable for couples and small families.

High-speed WiFi is included throughout your stay.

Private South-Facing Terrace

Outside, you have your own private south-facing terrace where you can enjoy the sun for most of the day.

Start the morning with coffee outdoors, relax after a day at the beach or enjoy dinner in the evening. The terrace has a table and chairs.

A BBQ is available on request and can be borrowed free of charge during your stay.

Made for Families

Children have plenty of space to play at Kvarnviks Gård.

Our garden playground includes a climbing tower, slide, swings and trampoline. On rainy days, families can use our indoor Activity House, with table tennis, foosball and a cozy children's corner.

This means there is something for the kids to do even when the Swedish summer weather decides to change its mind.

Life at Kvarnviks Gård

Kvarnviks Gård dates back to 1907, when the main house was built. The old stable followed in 1923 and the property still retains much of its original countryside character, including a historic electric mill.

Today we share the farm with our friendly and social cat Lilly and our small flock of chickens. Depending on the season, you may see them around the farm – a particularly popular sight with younger guests.

Despite being part of the farm, the cottage is located in its own quiet corner, giving you privacy while still allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere and facilities of Kvarnviks Gård.

We are Christian and Axel, originally from northern Germany, and we have been living in Sweden for many years. We met in 2007, got married in Sweden in 2016, and today we live at Kvarnviks Gård together with our twins Henri and Hauke.

Before moving to the countryside, we spent many years in Stockholm. Christian also lived in Finland for five years before coming to Sweden, so Scandinavia has been part of our lives for a long time.

We have always loved travelling, nature, old houses and taking on new projects. Buying Kvarnviks Gård was a long-held dream for us: we wanted more space, more nature and a place where our children could grow up close to the countryside.

Hosting became a natural part of that dream. We genuinely enjoy having people here, hearing where they come from and helping them discover our part of Skåne. At the same time, we also know how important privacy is when you are on holiday, so we try to be available when needed without ever being intrusive.

For us, Kvarnviks Gård is not just a place we rent out – it is our home, our family project and a place we are continuously improving with a lot of heart and energy.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We fell in love with this part of southern Skåne because it combines so many things we enjoy: the sea, open countryside, small villages and a slower pace of life.

Kvarnviks Gård is surrounded by fields, yet the coast is only a short distance away. We especially love being able to cycle to the beach, walk through the countryside and still have places such as Ystad, Trelleborg and Malmö within easy reach.

The coastline around Beddingestrand is one of our favourite parts of the area. There are long sandy beaches, small harbours, coastal villages and beautiful roads through the countryside. At the same time, southern Skåne has much more to offer than just the sea – there are farm shops, cafés, wineries, castles, hiking trails and plenty of places that still feel genuinely local.

Coming from the Baltic coast ourselves, being close to the sea was very important to us. We wanted our children to grow up with nature around them and with the beach close enough to become part of everyday life.

What we enjoy most is the feeling of space and calm. You can wake up to birdsong, look out over the fields and still decide spontaneously to spend the afternoon by the sea.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

What makes Kvarnviks Gård special to us is that it is a real home and a living farm, rather than just a holiday property.

The farm dates back to the early 1900s and still has a lot of its original character. We have tried to preserve that atmosphere while making the guest spaces comfortable and practical for modern stays.

Our little log cabin has its own private position on the farm, so guests can enjoy peace and privacy while still having access to the shared facilities and the atmosphere of Kvarnviks Gård.

Families are especially welcome here. We have a playground with a climbing tower, slide, swings and trampoline, as well as an indoor Activity House with table tennis, foosball and a children's corner. Our twins Henri and Hauke are growing up here themselves, so creating a place where children can simply play and feel at home is very important to us.

We also try to make staying here as easy as possible. Bed linen, towels, shower products and final cleaning are included, so guests can arrive without having to bring half the household with them or spend their last morning cleaning.

And then there is the setting: open fields, our cat Lilly, our chickens, plenty of space, and the sea only a short bike ride away.

For us, the charm of Kvarnviks Gård is the combination of Swedish countryside, family life, history and the feeling of being somewhere personal rather than anonymous.
