Needs some improvements

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The downstairs bathr6smelled like urine and septic. The fand could be fixed or replaced it is very loud. Refrigerator didn't keep items very cold and the retractable screen on patio door needs to be fixed. Other than those few things our stay was great, relaxing and we will be back again next year.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family has stayed in the Arlington for 30 years so I know the cabin well. There were new beds in all the rooms except for one room this year YEAH!. New bedding was sorely needed. Hopefully the furniture will be replaced soon. We had to put blankets over it since it’s so dirty and greasy looking. And the bathrooms need to be gutted. New carpeting and kitchen dishes would be a tremendous improvement. The replacements for broken dressers in the downstairs bedrooms are a joke. Hopefully the owners will finally make the extremely long over due improvements.

Love the location of the Arlington, but definitely needs some updates. Screen door was broke, and after booking I read it’s been broke awhile...upstairs toilet seat was broke and the three beds upstairs were hurtful. Would I book the Arlington again, unfortunately no unless it’s updated. We’ll be back to Elbert’s again, just another cabin.

Not Happy

1) had to call for rental number and code to get inside 2) the pictures ( of the rental)are very misleading 3) No central AIR 4) screen door was broken, so we couldn't have it open 5) rooms were small and beds were very uncomfortable 6) the drapes for the downstairs sliding doors was broken and were afraid to open them and get charges for something we didn't do 7) the rooms downstairs have no windows and was damp 8) the stair to get downstairs ( inside) were NOT safe, they moved back and forth . And are spiral plus narrow 9) no railing for going down to the beach or to get to our pontoon rental

Reviewer Comments: The location of the cottage was great, right on the water, on the beach. Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday the beach was ours alone. The unit was clean, but worn, dated and very smelly. It smelled of the typical musty cottage smell, times two, plus a urine undertone. The furniture was worn and dated. The fridge would not stay cold enough. The kitchen cabinet doors were very sticky. The carpet was stained. The hot tub in the cottage was not available for use. This was not my original choice of cottages. My original choice, not at Elbert's, ended up having a septic issue. The staff at Hiller's contacted me and gave me other options at no additional cost. A couple of the cottages that were an option were much nicer, but not close to where the rest of my family was staying, so I selected the Arlington at Elberts. The staff at Hiller's was very helpful and kind.

Great location on water

We stayed here for a week. Nice property, loved having the beach right below or deck. Older rental, but had everything we needed for an up north vacation. A few bad things. The screen on the patio door never got fixed, not the worst, but made it hard to cool the unit down. Secondly the tv was not functional for 5 days of our stay. Finally as it was a duplex, the neighbors were remodeling during our stay. Not the worst, slightly noisy, but was a bummer for our quiet northwoods getaway. Still had a nice time.

Another wonderful week in St. Germain

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is my family’s 31st year with staying at Elberts Resort. We love the location of the Arlington with the perfect view of the lake, beach area and spending time with friends.The Arlington unit has been in need of major updates for some time now. Both bathrooms need to be remodeled. And all the furniture needs to be replaced as well as the dressers in the downstairs bedrooms. And the screen door to the deck is still an issue (for several years), the entire door needs to be replaced with a new screen door.Hellers is nice, they’re good at taking reservations and your money. But lack severely in followup with issues. Example: I ordered towels for our week. At check-in I asked if the towels are in the unit or if they have them in the office. No one knew the answer so we had to wait until we got to the unit to find out. Had to call to request the towels, which were delivered promptly. But the sets did not include hand towels only bath towels and washcloths. Another call to mention the shortage. We never did receive any hand towels even after a visit to the office a few days later.A maintenance person did come by toward the end of the week and was able to repair one of the dresser drawers. But another drawer was so warped it was not repairable. Hopefully the microwave will be replaced since the exhaust fan would not turn off.I understand that the units go thru a lot of wear and tear with the number of renters. But the owner of the Arlington doesn’t seem to care about it’s condition and has the attitude that the renters will just have to make due. Repairs are minimal and insufficient for the most part.Hopefully the owners will see the need for updating so that future guests will want to return again and again.

The Hiller office staff needs to learn what customer service is. After coming up to Elberts Resort for 23 years, I am done. I will not pay to go to a resort and be treated the way Hiller treats their clients

Came up for a memorial service. This place was amazing and greatly lifted our spirits.

Easy... a code to check in and use throughout our visit was easy, safe and secure. Beautiful place and loved the view. The Staff at the Timbers were friendly and polite, the food was great! I hope to return.

Reviewer Comments: Experience was fine. The basement needs work, filthy and buggy 0 bathroom. The two bedrooms are like cells, nothing warm or comforting in them. The downstairs furniture has been the same since we have been coming there, almost 20 years. It needs more comfortable furniture down there. I'm about ready to throw the two fans on the wall in the lake!!

Reviewer Comments: This review is for the cabin and not the management company. We have been staying in the Arlington off and on for nearly 20 years. The cabin has had little to no updating done during that time. The cost for weeks stay has gone up substantially but the owners need to reinvest some of that into the cabin to keep up with the other cabins at Elbert's. The hot tub room has not been used for 10 years but is still taking up space, furniture is old, layout is dysfunctional, cabinet doors are broken or stick, the TV is from the last century. The cost for the rental is way out of line with the value. The deck overlooking the beach is the best part of this cabin. Because of the high cost of this cabin, we are trying to find a different cabin at Elbert's to rent. We enjoyed the amenities on the Elbert's property and having cocktails at the Timber's Bar onsite.

29th year at Elberts

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As my title mentions, my family and I have been enjoying Elberts for 29 years. We absolutely love Elberts. The past managers have always done a great job taking care of the property and always gave us a warm welcome every year.My concern is with the owner of the Arlington. Our weekly rate has gone up the last few years and there have not been any improvements to justify the increase, even after continuous complaints. Many of the outlets are so outdated a plug just fallls out. The deck screen door has been broken for several years. It was inspected by a contractor, Jim Anderson, myself as well as others in 2017 and determined that the track was totally shot and the entire frame needed to be replaced. To my dismay upon my arrival in 2018 not only had the screen not been replace but a new screen was leaning against the building waiting to be installed. Low and behold they discovered the track (once again) was shot and the entire frame need to be replaced. The door remained against the building for the week. This was a very unpleasant situation since the weather was extremely warm and we were not able to open the door. The refrigerator needs to be replaced as well as all of the mattresses. Sinking in the middle is very uncomfortable. The bathrooms need a overhaul. Could use new towel racks, the wooded racks are over 15 years old and filthy as well as being held together with tape.I would highly recommend Elberts but the owner of the Arlington needs to make some major improvements to justify the increases. The management office was very nice and accommodating. There was a little misunderstanding about towel rentals but it was handled in a timely manner. We still enjoyed our week at Elberts and will return for our 30th year next year!!

We woke up to a bat in the bathroom downstairs, cottage had a ton of flies and was filthy.
