From the moment we entered this cozy cottage it felt like a home away from home and our worries washed away. It was incredibly tidy and so well organized. We loved every minute of our visit. Our daughter loved that we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. We love the convenience of the Camp Ellis Store, the Lobsterman, Huotâs and incredible beaches and views from the nearby docks and fishing. The amazing lemonade stand next door was a fun addition. We enjoyed quiet time on the porch and dinner on the deck with the beautiful view of the marsh. We left feeling refreshed and grateful.
Home was beautifully updated and clean. Had all the amenities we needed. Walking distance to cute local store and beach. We love visiting Camp Ellis. We had a great stay and will definitely be visiting again!
Our family had a great stay. Very clean and nicely appointed home that fit our family of four perfectly. The home is well cared for and the ownersâ thoughtfulness shows; everything has its place and clearly labeled. Location is in a friendly neighborhood close to a beach that is great for kids and only a short drive to restaurants in downtown Saco and Biddeford. Would recommend!
Beautiful, clean house in a great community. We enjoyed the back yard and took lots of walks to the jetty and beach. The kids loved the spiral staircase with their comfortable room upstairs. Definitely recommend!
The house is beautiful and had all the essentials plus a few bonus items like bikes and a fire pit! Walking distance to a general store, the beach, and Huotâs. OOB and downtown Saco is just a short drive. The back deck is private with an amazing view. We would definitely stay here again!
We had an amazing family vacation at this wonderful cottage. You can walk to a great neighborhood beach and the Huotâs seafood that has awesome lobster rolls and live music! Also very close to Funtown Splashtown and Aquaboggan which is perfect for the kids. Cottage is very clean, updated, with a great deck and fire pit. Also has some childrens books and games. Definitely will be back! Thank you Bonnie for being a fantastic host!
Very cute, clean and organized house but VRBO did show the pin drop on Eagle Ave...it was not there so a bit misrepresented but. We had an amazing week though, perfect getaway ! Good communication with owner and sweet little cottage.
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! It's very cute and nicely updated. We needed to rent 3 cottages, in addition to the family place, in order to house all of us. This cottage served as the morning and breakfast spot for part of our group. Beautiful outlook over the marsh. The kitchen is well outfitted, though there are a limited number of drinking glasses, and NO wine glasses at all, so bring your own, or be prepared to buy. We didn't eat dinners there so it wasn't a problem for us. Also, no hair dryer, if that matters to you.
A common theme for rentals in this area is that you have to supply your own linens, or pay for a set from a vendor. DK why so many folks do that, but for us, coming from the West Coast, bringing bed linens and towels is out of the question. We rented them, which is fine, but truly, Saco is the only place we've rented via VRBO which requires you to bring your own linens.
One thing to note is that the two twin beds upstairs are accessed by a narrow, but fairly easy to use, spiral staircase. I'd not have any small children there who might need to come downstairs in the night. Kids10years and older are probably ok. Cute space though!!
Beds were all comfy.
Owner very responsive to all inquiries.
Loved the front and back porches!
Thanks for the nice stay!
The host - Always available to answer questions and got back to me right away. She was always helpful and gave us great information about the house and surrounding area. Easy to work with throughout the entire process.
The house - The house was clean, beautiful, and perfect for a family of 4. Just enough space for everyone and it felt like being home. The beautiful back deck is great for relaxing while watching the all of the birds around the property. This house has everything we wanted and we really loved how everything was clean and new! The neighborhood is also great. Minutes walk to the beach, the dock, and the restaurant. We could also bike ride to many other attractions and other beaches. Perfect location!
We loved everything about our Maine getaway and will definitely be coming back to this house!
Beautiful, clean and neat beach house. Owner is a wonderful person that made sure we had everything we needed. My family and I had a fantastic time in the area. We couldnât be happier with our stay. It rained a few days while we stayed but the house was so complete we felt like we were home. Thank you so much.
The host was wonderful and accommodating. The property was perfect for a quiet getaway with a small baby as we spent most of our time in the house! Very close to the beach which was also very convenient.
Our stay was a girls trip away, we are all in our 50âs but very young at heart and we were looking for a nice place near the water to hang out to play games, eat good food, and enjoy each otherâs company. This cottage was the perfect size, very clean, newly renovated, and wonderfully decorated. The yard was big enough for outside yard games we brought with us and we had a fire every night in the fire pit. The deck is WONDERFUL, as well as the front porch. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. Loved everything about the place. The property owner was very nice and accommodating. I had read one particular bad review and it had me just slightly concerned, but honestly I have no idea what planet those people were from because we didnât find any of their complaints to have merit. The only downside was the street noise while outside at night by the fire pit, but couldnât hear it while inside the house. Very peaceful sleeping. We were very comfortable and happy. Definitely would recommend it
We've been going to Maine for years and this was our first stay in this part of Saco bay. The little enclave of Camp Ellis has that wonderful seaside salty feel where time seems to slow down. Its beaches were clean and the water was warm (for Maine of course.) If what you are looking for is a calm area where you can sit on the beach and take a dip, you can do no better.
The house itself is in excellent condition and well appointed (my only little point of feedback is that there were not enough glasses provided, you might consider bringing a sleeve of disposable cups). It was comfortable and the deck was a wonderful place to have meals.
Bonnie and John went above and beyond in ensuring we had a comfortable and safe stay. During this time of the pandemic, it was clear they take cleanliness and sanitation quite seriously.
This is a lovely beach cottage in a great location with beautiful views out the back and so convenient to the beach and other activities. We highly recommend this listing.
Great location with proximity to beach, jetty, store and restaurant. Caught trolley to Old Orchard right out front door. Clean house that was great for our family of four. Camp Ellis is great place.
We were so incredibly grateful to have stayed at this beautiful cottage. It was the perfect size for our family of three! It was just far enough away from OOB that we felt we had privacy and access to uncrowded beaches, and close enough to spend our rainy days in the arcade, exploring the shops and walking along the pier! We could take a short walk to go parasailing and access one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever eaten in! (Shout out to Huots! ) The property itself was impeccably clean and ready for vacationers! It was incredibly easy to make ourselves at home! We brought a small travel corn hole game and made use of the backyard. But there were also bikes and a fire pit that we could have easily used as well! The outdoor shower has hot water and was spacious, making it very easy to rinse off after a day at the beach!
Thank you so much âGâ family! We cannot wait to return!!!
What a great location to enjoy the coast of Maine. Itâs a darling community, beautiful beach, neighborhood of kind people., great restaurant options a short drive away found through Yelp. The house is a two block walk from the beach, right past the darling general store and the house has most of your beach needs likes chairs and beach towels (for an extra fee.) The spiral staircase to the second floor is narrow and a little wobbly according to our size small adult daughter. My only struggle was with space for our âstuffâ (medication, jewelry, pocket change etc.) as there is no dresser or table in the 1st floor bedroom. The nightstands are made of wire and hold a lamp base but nothing more. I found a cutting board in the kitchen to cover the top so I could have my phone nearby at night, a place for a cup of water and my reading book. Pretty clever, I thought :-). A glass top could solve the problem. We used the kitchen table as a dresser top. We struggled with space for our suitcases and our clothing too. There is a closet but few hangers and this was the second leg of an 8 day trip. For a weekender it probably wouldnât be as much of an issue. Our daughter took one of the bikes for a ride and loved it while we enjoyed the back deck a great deal. A lovely home for sure in a great location!
The kitchen and bath are new and cozy comfortable with great views from the kitchen. The first floor Open concept always makes us feel like we are in an outdoor living space.
