Santorini's Welcoming Getaway - Blissful & Homely
Summary:
About two kilometres from the black sand shore at Pori, this two level property sits in the quiet northeast of Santorini, where the landscape rolls toward the sea and the pace eases the moment you arrive. Your days drift between beaches and the caldera villages, and each evening you return to a calm base that feels far from the rush yet close to everything. WiFi is available throughout and parking is on site.
The Space:
Set over two levels, the property gives everyone room to spread out and settle in. The ground floor holds the living area and kitchen, an easy open space where the day naturally gathers, kept cool by air conditioning through the warmer months. The kitchen is fully equipped, with an oven, a toaster and a coffee maker that handles both filter and espresso, along with everything else you might need during your stay, so long lunches and slow breakfasts come together without a second thought.
Downstairs you will find two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one arranged with two single beds, comfortable for a family or a group of up to four. Each bedroom is air conditioned for restful nights. There are two shower bathrooms, one on each level, so mornings move along easily when the house is full.
A washing machine means you can pack light and stay longer, and a travel cot and high chair are available upon request for guests arriving with little ones. Outside, a seating area gives you somewhere to slow down with a coffee or a glass of local wine as the evening settles over the vineyards.
An ideal destination for year-round vacations, perfect for families, friends, and couples.
Guest Access:
The entire two level property is yours alone, with the living space and kitchen on the ground floor and both bedrooms on the level below, connected by an internal staircase. Parking is on site, and WiFi reaches throughout the house, leaving you free to settle in and explore at your own pace.
The Neighborhood:
The property sits on the quiet northeast side of Santorini, in the area around Vourvoulos, where the island shows a gentler face than the busy caldera towns. Vineyards and open country roll down toward the east coast, the light is soft in the mornings, and the rhythm here suits anyone after calm with the whole island still within easy reach. The village of Vourvoulos covers everyday needs close to home, with a well stocked mini market, a bakery, a pharmacy and a handful of tavernas near the old fishing port.
The beaches nearby are some of the most peaceful on the island. Vourvoulos beach, about 2 km away, is a long stretch of dark sand and volcanic pebbles with a small fishing harbour and plenty of space to yourself. Pori beach, around 2 km, brings the same black volcanic sand and clear water in a wonderfully relaxed setting. Kolumbo beach, roughly 3 km, is known for its striking volcanic rock formations and calm water that rewards snorkelling. Exo Gialos, about 4 km, offers more dark sand and easy swimming, while the sandy shallows of Baxedes near Oia lie around 6 km away.
Inland, the landscape is made for slow exploring, with vineyards in every direction and the cliffside path from Fira to Oia passing about 4 km away, one of the finest coastal walks in Greece. For sights, Imerovigli and the dramatic Skaros Rock sit around 2 km away, the capital Fira with its Museum of Prehistoric Thera is about 4 km, and Oia, famous for its sunsets and Venetian castle, lies roughly 5 km on. Further afield you can reach the archaeological site of Ancient Thera at about 10 km and the Bronze Age town of Akrotiri at around 13 km.
Days here fill themselves easily. You can sail out to the volcano and hot springs in the caldera, taste crisp Assyrtiko wine at the local wineries, linger over fava and fresh seafood in the village, and end the evening watching the sun drop over the water.
An ideal destination for nature lovers and those seeking authentic local experiences all year round.
Getting Around:
Santorini National Airport is about 6 km away, an easy transfer when you arrive or leave. The main ferry port at Athinios sits around 12 km from the house and connects Santorini with Piraeus on the mainland and the neighbouring Cyclades islands. The island bus network runs from the central station in Fira, about 4 km away, linking the villages, beaches and main sights across the island. Having a car of your own opens up the whole region at your own pace, from the northern coves to the southern vineyards, and parking is on site for whenever you return.
Other Things to Note:
This is the quieter, more local side of Santorini, and a few days here have a way of resetting you completely.
Interaction with Guests:
We are always available to assist our guests and make sure they have a pleasant and comfortable stay. Feel free to reach out anytime if you need help, local tips, or recommendations.
