Located on the banks of the Teme River in the midst of the breathtaking Welsh Marches is the historic market town of Ludlow. Ludlow Castle, at over 900 years old, is one of the first stone castles built in England, and it is just one of more than 500 listed buildings in the town that offer a fascinating range of architecture. The castle is now open year-round, and it plays host to a wide variety of events, such as festivals celebrating food, art, literature, and more. Located directly on the riverbank, below the castle, Millenium Green features a large public green and weir as well as high-quality indoor and outdoor dining options at the Green Cafe. The town of Ludlow has been hosting street markets since the 12th century. A weekly outdoor market is held in the town square on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays all year round. The 'Local to Ludlow' produce market on some Thursdays and an Antique & Flea market on some Sundays feature more than forty stalls selling a variety of goods, such as fresh produce, cheeses, books, and a selection of local crafts.
