Lovely Spacious Forest Lodge (noon check in & out)

One of only three occupied beautiful wooden lodges situated in a four acre woodland within the heart of the Lake District (near Satterthwaite, Grizedale). If peace and tranquility in a beautiful remote natural setting is what you're seeking then look no further. Check in and check out at noon to make the most of your stay.

Lovingly furnished to provide a wonderful base for exploring the Lake District. The lodge has a large spacious open plan living / dining room with wood burning stove, leading onto a lovely decked patio area with an outdoor table & BBQ. Offering stunning views over Grizedale Forest and a wonderful opportunity to experience wildlife in its most natural habitat – including wild deer which can be seen from the lodge from time to time. The lodge is very spacious and sleeps 6 comfortably (one king, one double and two singles). It's also very cozy for couples and smaller groups. The master bedroom is a lovely space with its own ensuite bathroom (including bath & shower). In addition, there is a separate bathroom with shower cubicle. The lodge has an abundance of hot water - lovely after a day out in the lakes!

The only real noise you will occasionally hear (in the distance) is the nearby local waterfall (Force Falls). There are some lovely local walks directly from the lodge. For those feeling a little more adventurous then the area offers some of the best trails in the Lake District - a cycling and walking paradise! If you want to bring your bikes along then there is an Asgard bike shed available (accommodates up to 6 bikes).

You will have sole access of the lodge (noon check in). There is ample (private) parking at the lodge for up to three cars and an Asgard bike shed which accommodates up to 6 bikes. Due to fire regulations, charging of electric vehicles including bikes is prohibited on the property.Our lodge is ideal for families, couples and anyone wishing to have a quiet break away.

Due to the remoteness of our lodge you will need a car to get around. The closest shops are in Hawkshead (around 20 minutes by car) however there is a local pub in Satterthwaite which is open most evenings and serves good food (within a mile away).

There are new fire safety regulations in place. You will find details within the information folder kept in the lodge, please familiarize yourself with these.

Due to the new fire regulations we are obliged to inform you that should you need to exit the property via the ground floor windows you should consider the ability of your party to do this.

We have installed a wood burning fire in the living room (you will need to provide your own wood & kindling).

There will be soap, shower gel, shampoo, bubble bath and a hairdryer at the lodge for you to use if required. We also provide bed linen, towels and fleecy blankets in case you want to sit out on the decking on cooler evenings.

Please note that whilst some of our previous reviews mention a hot tub at the lodge, unfortunately, this has since been removed and is therefore no longer available.

Please note we have installed an external security camera overlooking the car parking area at the lodge . This allows us to monitor for safety purposes that no charging of EV vehicles is happening.
