À propos de cet hébergement

Cet appartement maison de transport est situé dans un quartier résidentiel très calme du port de York. Il est très confortablement meublé avec un lit queen-size dans la chambre et deux lits simples dans le loft adaptés aux plus jeunes invités plus agiles. La cuisine est entièrement équipée et dispose également d'une laveuse et d'une sécheuse. Il y a une vue spectaculaire sur l'océan depuis le salon ou depuis la terrasse spacieuse.

Il est à quelques pas de l'eau. Regardez le lever du soleil à l'horizon interrompu uniquement par la silhouette du célèbre Boon Island Light à sept milles au large. La lumière Nubble est au nord et sa balise clignotante fascine après la tombée de la nuit. S'il y a un jour brumeux, vous pouvez entendre les cornes de brume éloignées de jusqu'à trois phares. Roaring Rock, une grande crevasse qui fait un bruit tonitruant lorsque la mer coule du nord-est, n'est qu'à quelques centaines de mètres le long de la côte rocheuse et accessible à ceux qui sont agiles à pied.

Quiet retreat

This is a wonderful place to get away. The views are good. A storm came by but only made for choppy waves rather than worries of the ocean coming up to the house. I was chilled at entry only as they were trusting the heating system to come up to snuff quickly and it was just short of instantaneous! The blowers for the heating drowned out the sounds of the waves at times but was so reassuring too. The bed was very comfortable and firm. I ventured up to the loft for the view, but had no need to use it. The incredibly friendly and intelligent Airedale Pippa was very welcome. Thank you for a good getaway!

Wonderful!

We had a great experience here. The view was wonderful, the apartment was clean and well stocked in the kitchen. A very nice location a short distance to public beach, restaurants, and points of interest. The owner made checking in extremely easy and answered questions promptly. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful sunrises

We spent a wonderful six days at James and Jan’s carriage house apartment. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare some meals but there were many nice restaurants in the area. The York Harbor Inn is highly recommend and within walking distance of the apartment. Across from Inn is the Hartley Mason Reserve with walking trails and lovely views overlooking York Beach. Ogunquit and Kennebuckport are nearby with many stores and restaurants. The Marginal Way is a fun walk. Beaches galore in all the nearby towns. We most enjoyed just relaxing on the porch and taking in the views right outside the apartment. Nubble Lighthouse and Boone Lighthouse can be seen in the distance. Be sure to get up early to see the spectacular sunrises each morning and hear the crashing waves. The king bed was comfortable as well as the living room furniture. There is a loft area with twin beds. We did not use the loft, but it had a ocean view. The bathroom was small, but there was plenty of hot water. Lots of towels were provided. Thank for James and Jan for a wonderful time and being such accommodating hosts. We hope to return. Gail and Mark

Can not beat the view and very close to everything we like in York Harbor. This is a wonderful place but is in some need of updating. It is always clean and Jan and Jim are great.

Exceptional property

A wonderful place to stay in the York/Cape Neddick area! The view and the sound of the surf from the unit were a welcome relaxation. Everything that we could have needed was in the unit, even olive oil and cooking spray for cooking! This apt. is in a perfect, quiet location to enjoy the southern coast of Maine. Thanks Jan and Jim, we will return!

Nice location with a spectacular view

The carriage house was comfortable, cozy and in a nice location with a spectacular view. The house is as described online. I would suggest taking your own toiletries and your own bed linens if you have an allergy to scented laundry products. Overall, it was a great place to stay and the owners were accommodating. The friendly little dog, pippa was so sweet and greeted us in the driveway everyday.

Great view

The pictures say it all. A spacious room with a spectacular view in a very quiet and peaceful area. The kitchen has everything you need. The loft was no problem for us. Only the WiFi was not so strong.

Fabulous view

We loved our stay at Jim and Jan’s. The view from the deck and living room was fantastic! We could see both the Nubble Light and Boon Island light. The sights and sounds of the gentle rolling waves was so soothing. The house was very clean, which is greatly appreciated. The beds and furniture were all very comfortable. The kitchen was great for preparing meals. We were able to keep the place cool with the fans provided (we also brought two of our own). Our hosts were kind and accommodating. We are very thankful for our fabulous stay. And we loved York Beach. My husband’s family has been coming here for four generations. It is a quaint family friendly town with lovely beaches.

Heaven on Earth

I had a wonderful vacation here. Jan brought me a bouquet of flowers when I arrived and Jim came right over when I had a question about the tv. The view is amazing and I spent many hours reading on the deck listening to the ocean. Everything was provided for, all you needed was your clothes and a toothbrush. I can't wait to come back next summer.

return to my roots

after moving to the west coast 17 years ago it was wonderful for my family to experience all things New England that I grew up with. And we couldn’t have had a better experience and the location is spectacular! The view of the ocean, waking up to the sound of birds chirping, the ocean waves and just the overall joy our children experienced has us longing to come back…we certainly will be returning… thank you James and Jan!

The View!

Our stay was spectacular and everything we could hope for! The property was accurate to the listing and the views were amazing. Even though it was foggy most of our stay, you were able to get glimpses of the Nubble Lighthouse. The beach is a 5 minute drive and you can explore York with everything within 20 minutes of the house. Although you were attached to the main house, we had plenty of privacy! We will definityly stay again!

Great View, Location, host, everything

The ocean view is spectacular! We sat inside and on the deck, both with great views. Jan greeted us when we arrived. I would suggest people who come the first time to make a call and make sure how to find the house (It is easy to find once we know that is the house. We just did not know Roaring Rock Point Rd is easy to miss). Appliances are new. Matrice is great (high quality). It is very quiet. Actually, we slept much better in the unit than at home. There are many good things to do. A beach is only 4 minutes away. Funny thing is: York Harbor is hidden at the end of a very small walk. Also, a very interesting walk: cliff walk, that is also hidden behind the Park Garden. we will definitely try to come back.

Great getaway

My husband and I loved this apartment because it was supremely peaceful. The view can't be beat, and though not a fancy place, it had everything we needed. Living room furniture was very comfortable, which is not always the case in places we've rented. This was really important because sitting on the couch looking at the ocean was just what we needed. Will definitely return.

The best of York, Maine!

Everything we hoped for and more! The ocean is always in view! Centrally located- short drive or a couple mile walk to long and short sands beach. In the other direction, about a 20 min walk to Harbor View Beach and the shaded park just above. Although it’s not on the beach it doesn’t feel like you’re missing out because the ocean view is right at your door! Full kitchen with everything you need. Really homey and comfortable. We’ll be back!

Beautiful view. Cottage was well equipped for our stay. Clean and felt welcome from owners. Lack of air conditioning had to be the most difficult on 2-3 days of hot weather.

Wonderful vacation rental!

The location of this rental property couldn't be better. The ever-changing views of the ocean and sky from the living room and deck are wonderful. We also enjoyed the peace and quiet--the only sounds are the waves and the birds singing. We will be back!
