Luxury Glamping Lodge with hot tub set on a beautiful, Mid Wales hillside
Oak Lodge is an exclusive Luxury Glamping Lodge set on a beautiful, sheltered Mid Wales hillside and close to amenities.
At the moment there is just the one quirky lodge set in 3 acres of meadow, looking out over the hills and woodland.
There is more land to explore (total 11 acres) and the views are far reaching. This unique accommodation isn't available anywhere else in Wales.
Oak Lodge is mains connected for electricity, with a top of the range waterless toilet and eco friendly Bio Fuel Burner (Like a log burner but without the hassle). The hills and trees will be your morning view as you open the curtains looking out across the green expanse that surrounds this Mid Wales getaway. You are surrounded by green space, meadows left for wild flowers with paths cut through them and of course the many Oak Trees, some of which are over 400 years old.
As there is only one lodge, you will have privacy and this offers the perfect location for a romantic luxury break for a couple. Alternatively, kids will love exploring the areas and discover the very shallow stream to splash in (it dries up fully in Summer). There is so much space to enjoy.
After a 3-4 minute, 300 metre walk from the car park (some up a hillside path), kick off your boots in the covered porch outside and head into your own quirky lodge. In the lodge there is one separate bedroom with a King Size bed, a shower room with toilet & sink, a kitchenette (mini kitchen) with microwave oven, air fryer, fridge/freezer and the spacious, quirky main room with a large sofa (converts to a 115cm wide bed for 1 or 2 small kids). Cast Iron outdoor stove, in/outdoor tables & shower room complete this.
Oak Lodge has a private wood-fired hot tub. which is deep and specially designed for two - the perfect addition to a romantic stay including a spa feature with relaxing bubbles. . Relax in warm water under the stars or start the day listening to the birdsong.
Oak Hill Escape opens in April 2026 and has been planned for years. The full blog and journey can be seen on our website and shows how much work this has entailed. There is just the one lodge at present with a maximum of 2 more planned. Each will be carefully screened and sited a very good distance away from each other, enabling privacy.
Mid-Wales is a spectacular location and we are just 4 minutes drive away from the small town of Llanfair Caereinion (2nd smallest town in Wales). Here youâll find the usual convenience shops (Spa/Londis), petrol station, excellent butchers (Pandy's), hairdressers, 3 pubs, Chinese takeaway & Fish & Chip shop. Take a trip on the Welshpool & Llanfair steam railway, visit the Cloverland Model Motor Museum, Deri woods & riverside walk, try the Alpaca Experience or walk the town trail (starting from the steam railway station).
There is also electric car charging in Llanfair & many rapid charging places in Welshpool (10 miles / 15 minutes away by car).âLake Vyrnwy located 16 miles away is nestled against the scenic backdrop of the Cambrian Mountains and stands as a crown jewel among Powys reservoirs.
Originally constructed in the late 19th century, this reservoir not only supplies water but also enchants visitors with its serene waters, embraced by woodlands and hills. The iconic Vyrnwy Dam adds an architectural marvel to the landscape, inviting exploration and leisurely strolls along its shores.
Come and discover the Dark Skies of Powys. There are few, if any street lights here and very little light pollution. On a clear night you can see an amazing night sky full of stars. Escape the city lights and experience the enchantment of Powys under a blanket of stars. Our pristine landscapes and minimal light pollution create the perfect canvas for stargazing and celestial wonders.âWelshpool has a lot to offer and the town itself offers a charming market atmosphere with historic buildings and a thriving market hall, but its primary draw is as a base for exploring the surrounding attractions. Whether it's the magnificent Grade 1 listed Powis Caste & gardens just outside Welshpool, the canal walks , the unique architecture or the places to eat, you'll find something to do. Welshpool's a small town with free or cheap parking and is very easy to get around.
