Cosy Cottage in Charming Village Close to Beach - Pass the Keys
A fantastic opportunity to stay in a beautifully presented cottage for two nestled in the gorgeous village of Kirkbean in Dumfries & Galloway.
School cottage sits within the grounds of The Old School, the former school place of John Paul Jones 'Father of the American Navy'.
The cottage is cosy and welcoming with everything you could need for a relaxing break. Enjoy the lovely garden or take a stroll to Carsethorn beach where a meal at the Steamboat Inn ticks all the boxes!
Kirkbean is the perfect village as a base to explore everything our beautiful region of Dumfries & Galloway has to offer. Situated half way between Dumfries itself and the desirable Solway Coast villages of Kippford, Sandyhills & Colvend, the village offers a diverse and fascinating blend of beauty and history.
Nestled in the shadow of the famous Criffel hill, the village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and beaches and is one of many reasons why Dumfries & Galloway is known as the Highlands of the south!
Newly renovated, School Cottage is beautifully presented throughout with welcoming, contemporary furnishings.
The fully equipped kitchen has everything needed to prepare a light lunch or full evening meal with stunning cabinetry in soft muted tones making each mealtime a pleasure.
The sitting area with it's plush super comfortable sofa is the perfect spot for a cosy evening in front of the TV or for curling up with a good book after a fun packed day exploring our gorgeous region.
The double bedroom is beautifully decorated to promote the best night sleep!
Freshen up in the modern bathroom with walk in shower complete with stunning brass rainfall showerhead.
The cherry on top, in warmer months, enjoy a peaceful morning coffee or evening glass of wine on the patio in the private garden area.
Guests will have access to the entire property and private dedicated garden area

Pass the Keys® provide a fantastic standard of service for short-let properties like mine meaning my home is professionally managed. IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.
The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.
Once the verification process is successfully completed, check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.
