A mere stoneâs throw from the sea in the pretty coastal village of Carsethorn less than 14 miles from Dumfries. . Ground Floor:
Living/dining room: 39" Smart TV, DVD Player, Electric Fire
Kitchen: Electric Oven, Ceramic Hob, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Washer Dryer
First Floor:
Bedroom 1: Kingsize (5ft) Bed
Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (2ft 6in) Beds
Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Electric storage heaters, electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi included.. Garden with sitting-out area with garden furniture. Public car park, free of charge. No smoking.. Sit back, relax and just enjoy the views of the sea. Coastguardâs Cottage is a cosy and welcoming cottage a mere stoneâs throw from the sea, situated at the end of a small terrace in the pretty coastal village of Carsethorn. The cottage is delightful, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Discover the âhidden gardenâ with its uninterruped views of the sea. Carsethorn is steeped in history, John Paul Jones, known as âThe Father of the American Navyâ, was born just a mile away and frequented the village as a young man.
Carsethorn is a tranquil and peaceful village where you will hear nothing more than the lapping of the waves. Set in the heart of this beautiful coastal area of Dumfries and Galloway it is an ideal base to explore the area. Come back to Coastguardâs Cottage after a day exploring and relax in the cottage or stroll to the delightful village pub.
Dumfries and Galloway has much to offer from walking and cycling to fishing, mountain biking and golf, or enjoy a day exploring the many beautiful beaches along the Solway Coast. Try the regionâs fantastic 9 and 18 hole golf courses set amid stunning scenery, none more so than the world famous links course at Southerness a 5-minute drive along the coast.
Warmed by the Gulf Stream there are many beautiful gardens to visit, including Threave Gardens (National Trust). Further afield the Galloway Forest Park not only has some stunning scenery but is also the UKâs first Dark Sky Park where over 7000 stars and planets are visible with the naked eye. Shop 5 miles, pub next door.
