Enjoying breathtaking mountain and sea views, this cosy former crofter's cottage, located in a quiet spot on the outskirts of Gairloch, offers couples and families the perfect base for exploring Wester Ross and the North West Highlands. The quiet coastal community of Big Sand is just 4.5 miles from the village of Gairloch, which is located on the shores of Loch Gairloch, amongst the enchanting scenery of Wester Ross. Answer the call of the coast at Big Sand Beach (2 miles), which boasts towering dunes to explore and delightful views of the mountains of Skye and Torridon. The secluded beach of Red Point, 16.5 miles away, offers a wide expanse of unique red/pink sand and plenty of rock pools to explore. Peruse the local produce in the shops in the village centre of Gairloch or stroll through the National Trustâs tropical gardens of Inverewe, 11 miles away.
The contemporary country cottage-style kitchen that welcomes you into this homely bolthole not only echoes the rich history of the cottage but also provides everything you need to whip up something tasty. Adjoining the kitchen, youâll find the cosy lounge where you can sit back at the end of a busy day and relax beside the warmth and flicker of the rustic, roaring wood burner. As the evening draws in, lead the way back through the hallway to the cosy lounge, where you can sit back and relax beside the warmth and flicker of the rustic, roaring wood burner. The blissful conservatory/sunroom provides the best views across the surrounding mountains and out to sea. Before bedtime, soak weary walking muscles in the elegant roll-top bath in the stylish family bathroom, before climbing the steep, narrow staircase upstairs to find the two peaceful bedrooms. Tucked beneath the eaves with charming sloping ceilings, the double bedroom and twin bedroom provide a haven of tranquillity to retire to.
Make the most of your stunning surrounding scenery by dining alfresco on the quaint picnic bench in the enclosed garden, which features a gravelled seating area and a lovely lawn. Outside, youâll also find private parking for one car.
