Wander into the town where you can start the day with a coffee and drift between boutiques for a souvenir or keepsake. A must-see is Southwell Minster (2 miles), especially if you're into history. Head to Sherwood Pines (13.5 miles) for a brilliant walk through the woods, along with Sherwood Forest (17.5 miles) and The Major Oak (17.5 miles) and a variety of enchanting trails. The picturesque grounds of Rufford Abbey (10 miles) have peaceful gardens that make you want to stay all afternoon, as well as a kids' play area and a stunning lake. After soaking in the many fabulous sites, you'll find the local butcher's shop just 3 miles from the cottage, where you can purchase local produce to sizzle on the BBQ in your beautiful gardens.
Step through the private driveway into a serene, well-designed interior that balances luxury with homely comfort. The entrance hall is spacious and welcoming with calming neutral tones and interior-designed accents creating an inviting atmosphere from the get-go as you make your way into the open-plan kitchen/diner. Cook and prep in this ample, muted space, where guests can make use of the vast American-style fridge/freezer and stylish six-seater table by the French doors opening to the garden. After delicious meals, retire to the lounge, a cosy haven with plush seating which has been thoughtfully arranged around the Smart TV and wood burner for warm and quiet evenings in. Three attractive bedrooms are set on the first floor. The king-size room boasts a four-poster bed, storage and a sofa for a truly memorable stay. The double bedroom is just as relaxing and modern as the twin room.
Enjoy the fully enclosed garden, ideal for both dogs and young children. Spend your day soaking in the private hot tub, dining alfresco at the outdoor table, or lighting up the BBQ for an evening feast. The decking area is perfect for gatherings, celebrations, or simply gazing at the stars. You're also welcome to explore the 7 acres of field, walk your dogs, or spot local wildlife. Private parking is available for six cars.
