A great place for family to gather! Lots of room for kids and adults. I brought food in, everything I needed was there to prepare meals. We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much for your hospitality.
Check in was easy. We parked a car in the very clean garage. Kitchen had everything we needed. Barb got back to us quickly with a question. The area is quiet and private with places to sit outdoors. You could see a horse next door at its stable. The area is beautiful and close to Rochester with its many good restaurants.
The Bungalow was just what our family needed, a few days away from the hustle and bustle. Really enjoyed the trails (went for walks at least twice a day) and the loft, for hanging out. Would stay again.
Efficient check-in. I received a detailed message via VRBO from owner a few days before arrival. The email contained all the information regarding the rental and surrounding area. The directions to the rental made it easy to find. This rental is handicapped accessible with no entry stairs, first floor bedroom and bathroom with easy shower entry. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the quiet seclusion.
We stayed here for a Girls Getaway, my mom and the three of us sisters. The VRBO was lovely inside and out and functional for all our activities. My mom uses a walker and the floors were level making it easy to get around. A couple days it was raining and storming, so we appreciated the use of the garage and that the VRBO manager kept us informed during the tornado warning. We also liked the central location between Rochester and Lanesboro.
We were looking for a place for friends to meet for a weekend get-together. This place was perfect for us! The wooded setting was very nice and the house is still close enough to town to make things very convenient.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Bungalow! Great location for a quiet getaway weekend. Great trails for walking. Kids enjoyed feeding Chocolate apples and petting Zippy. Wonderful stay. Would recommend and stay again!
We enjoyed our time at The Bungalow tremendously. The space was very comfortable, the kitchen was very well equipped, our host made us feel at home, and the trails and proximity to our animal neighbors were delightful.
We had a wonderful stay and the dogs loved the trails in the woods. Chocolate, the neighborâs horse was a sweetheart, as was Zippy the other neighborâs dog! The space was great and we enjoyed having the loft to puzzle in and watch movies. We will be back:)
Beautiful, quiet and yet accessible location for a visit to Mayo. The house is very well maintained and comfy! The owner was very responsive snd accommodating. We would stay here again!
The overall property was very pleasant. The surrounding woods were a relaxing setting from visits at Rochester. The cottage was enjoyable and our host was great to work with.
Great location, wonderful stay, So nice to be able to leave Mayo Clinic, and escape to a secluded hideaway. This is our second visit. Barb our host is a pleasure to work with. Would enjoy a return visit.
This property was originally owned by my parents. My dad set up a small saw mill in the woods and built the original rough structure in the 1980s. I purchased it from them in 2000. My Dad actually milled the lumber over the fireplace, the shelf in the living room and some of the oak rafters. I recently added a beautiful addition and decided I would share it with people who I believe will love the tranquility and beauty. There is SO much to do and enjoy or sit and occasionally see a few deer wandering through your yard.
I grew up in Stewartville and decided to purchase this property to keep in our family for the future. I visit here occasionally but want to share it with others! I LOVE being here and I will get a lot of pleasure out of letting you enjoy it, too.
Root River on the property a few hundred yards away. Ironwood Springs Ranch adjacent with 200 acres of hiking trails and other activities you can check out on their web site. ironwoodsprings.com. Things such as horse-drawn sleigh rides, horseback riding, etc. Twenty acres of bluebells spring up in the woods in May! It is a sight to behold.
