Old Lakenham by Group Retreats

From the welcoming double-height reception hall to the spacious dining, family, and games rooms, every detail is designed for both relaxation and entertaining. The heart of the home is a beautifully equipped kitchen/breakfast/sitting room with vaulted skylight, walk-in pantry, and seamless access to the gardens through French and bi-fold doors — creating the perfect setting for group meals, celebrations, or simply unwinding in comfort.

With six bedrooms in the main house, including a vaulted principal suite, as well as a separate two-bedroom cabin and a fully self-contained pool house, Old Lakenham offers flexible accommodation for large family gatherings, corporate retreats, or special occasions. The cabin features its own kitchen/living space, bathroom, rooftop viewing terrace, and private deck with countryside views. The pool area provides a true sanctuary, with a heated outdoor pool that is open and heated between 1st April - 1st October. The pool can be heated outside of these times for an additional cost. There is also a hot tub, and a charming cabin-style pool house complete with open-plan living, en suite shower room, and direct access to the paved pool terrace — ideal for sun-soaked afternoons or evenings under the stars.

The gardens are a highlight of the property — beautifully landscaped and laid mainly to lawn, with mature planting, a rockery, pond, and a view of the cascading waterfall. Multiple terraces, accessible from the main reception rooms, offer idyllic spaces for al fresco dining and outdoor entertaining, with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. Located in the heart of Loose village, guests can enjoy local pubs, the village store, scenic walks through the Loose Valley Conservation Area, and a sense of complete privacy while still being close to amenities. Whether you`re gathering with loved ones, hosting a team getaway, or celebrating something special, Old Lakenham promises a truly memorable stay. The property can sleep up to 26 guests with the use of superking beds, zip and link beds, and sofa beds.
Electric vehicles are not to be charged from our electricity supply at any of our properties. Kindly use the Zapmap app to find the nearest public charging place to the property.

• Please observe and adhere to all speed limits on the driveways.
• Please do not enter the working farms. This is for your own safety as the farmers could be shooting.
• When on our walking routes, please close all gates and keep any dogs on leads.
• Please adhere to all signage with regards to parking. Do not park anywhere which may cause a nuisance to our neighbours.
• Noise. Please respect our neighbours, in particular, with regards to noise – consider children’s bedtimes. Your gathering must be brought inside by 9pm on weekdays and 10pm on weekends to control noise.
• The pools and hot tubs may be check during your stay by the caretaker. Please be aware that he may be on the premises for this and for other maintenance purposes.
• The pool cover is not a safety cover and must be removed fully before swimming. It will not support your weight.
• Children must not be allowed to enter the pool area unsupervised.
• Please do not swim in the lakes.
• Please ensure to use the designated smoking areas only.
• Only wood is to be burned in our fires and these must be extinguished if left or when you go to bed.
• Children must be supervised at all times.
• Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the hot tub.
• The hot tub must be filled with water at all times. If the water level falls below the top water jets it must be refilled immediately.
• If the pool or hot tub water is not completely clear it must not be used. Please inform us immediately if this happens.
• No glass to be taken to the pool or hot tub.
• If bringing dogs with you, please ensure to keep them under control and away from any livestock.
• Do not use any glitter or confetti. No decorations are to be sellotaped, pinned or blue tacked to the walls or doors.
• We do not allow fireworks, external speakers, DJ’s, marquees, or day guests exceeding the maximum number of guests at the property.
• Noise must be kept to a reasonable level at all times. If playing music indoors during the evenings, please ensure to keep any windows closed.
When You Leave
• The house must be vacated by 11am at the latest.
• All rubbish must be removed from the house and gardens, and placed in the correct bins outside.
• All washing up must be done or loaded into the dishwasher.
• All unused food is to be thrown away or taken with you.
• All furniture and items must be returned to where they came from.
Failure to observe the above rules may result in loss of damage deposit.
