Cradled by the wild beauty of Bodmin Moor with views of a soaring tor, Hosta House is a peaceful, single-storey retreat in the heart of North Cornwall. Designed for comfort and calm, it blends rustic charm with elegant modern touches, an idyllic escape for couples or solo travellers.
The sunlit open-plan living space features natural textures, a well-equipped kitchen, a cosy dining nook, and a welcoming lounge with plush seating, TV, and Wi-Fi, perfect for unwinding after moorland adventures or a day of coastal exploration. This delightful cottage offers a serene master bedroom with a double bed, TV, and Egyptian cotton bedding. The impressive bathroom boasts a spacious double shower. Outside, a private spot invites alfresco dining with views across the open countryside. By night, the Dark Sky location reveals a glittering canopy of stars.
Guests are free to roam the four-acre grounds, enjoy the wildflower meadow, dip in the shared hot tub, try the pitch-and-putt, or relax beside the tranquil fishing lake, dressed in beautiful water lilies. A shared laundry room adds convenience to this charming countryside hideaway.
Beyond your doorstep, adventure awaits. Hire a bike and follow the renowned Camel Trail, some 18 miles of the mainly flat pathway on the site of a bygone railway line from Bodmin to Wadebridge and onto iconic Padstow, with its narrow-cobbled streets, a vast array of restaurants serving culinary delights and thriving quayside. Explore the atmospheric tors and ancient stone structures of Bodmin Moor or take a short ten-minute drive into Bodmin itself for shops, the heritage steam railway, and the infamous Bodmin Jail, now a chilling, interactive experience.
Further afield, discover the golden sands of Widemouth Bay and the magic of Crackington Haven along with the Victorian seaside town of Bude with its many beaches, perfect for surfing, swimming or body boarding. Visit picture-perfect Boscastle, with its pretty cottages, or the timeless harbour towns of Fowey and Charlestown, the latter with its small fleet of tall ships. World-famous destinations like the Eden Project, with its tropical world beneath vast biomes and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, are a delight.
