I stayed here on a work trip and my wife and 1 year old tagged along. Stephen was quick to respond to our needs. We were in need of something every night with the little one. Place was clean and warm with the space heater. There was a extra twin bed we used for the little one. We were also able to rent a truck for the trip which was great to get out an see some bears.
I wanted to let you know that the entire place smelled horribly like someone was spraying cow in heat moose urine on their hunting clothes.. The smell was very strong and was almost un-BEARABLE as soon as you open the door.
I would highly recommend that the owner state in a rental disclaimer that this is a fishermanâs hide out and bear hunters should seek other accommodations if they are going to store hides or hunting clothes in the room.
This could cost you some business in the future or possibly having to replace carpet rugs and bedding with new..
Otherwise the accommodations and owner was great!
Clean, well kept, all amenities, convenient to town, good value
My son & I stayed in Unit # 1 for four nights at the end of our weeks stay in late July. There are a total of 4 units, all on the lower level under what I believe is the owners residence. (I'm not sure if the others are available thru VRBO.) We never met the owner but he was very responsive to our emails and accommodating to our requests.
I'd describe the unit as an efficiency apartment with a complete kitchen area. We bought groceries at the local Safeway and fixed our own breakfasts and lunches. The unit had all appliances in it with the exception of the washer/dryer in a common area. Of special use to us was the large chest freezer that held the 50# box of frozen fish we had with us after some ocean fishing in the first half of the week. Our "airline approved" box of fish fit in the freezer. There was probably room for another 100#, but I think the boxes would need to be unpacked to fit the contents in.
I think we made our reservations in February, but the owners rental truck was already spoken for. We rented a small sedan from Budget, which was adequate for our needs.
One suggestion for the owner: Build a small bench on the deck for fishermen to use to get their waders on/off. Put some pegs on the outside wall to hang them on.
P.S.: We were fresh water fly fishing. We caught plenty of Dolly Varden & pink salmon while "road" fishing. All the rivers have fish in them. Good Luck
We liked the location, the clean comfortable apartment and everything worked as expected! The owner was personable and friendly. Very well suited for our needs!
