Had a fantastic weekend for our over 60 âGirlsâ Trip 2025. Beautiful propertyâŠhighly recommend. It was my 2nd stay and hope to make it back there soon!
We were very pleased with our accommodations. The house was pleasant, clean, spacious, comfortable, and nicely kept. Beds were clean and very comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all we needed and much more. The playground for the kiddos was a plus and kept them very busy and the solarium was our go to place every day. We will be staying there again.
The house was well Fitted for our writing retreat. Was very comfortable, spacious, the kitchen was perfect for our meals. All around a great experience!
My wife and I hosted something of a family retreat, complete with adult children, grandchildren, siblings and nephews. We had a great time. Hereâs the best summary of our experience: our grandson said that he had an even better time than when he went to DisneyWorld.
Had a great stay at the Secret Garden. Fulfilled all of our needs for 6 seniors. Covington is a very nice town. Felt quite safe shopping there and staying at the Secret Garden. We attended Jazzfest in NOLA. It is a fair distance to drive, but for us it was well worth it to come back to some tranquility at the Secret Garden. Highly recommended accomodation!
We stayed at the Secret Garden with several family members to celebrate Thanksgiving. The grounds are amazing and I wish we had spent more time on them. But the inside of the main house was fantastic for cooking a big meal and a large family gathering to eat it. Everyone loved the place and it was easy to relax there. The driveway turn is a little hard to spot but once you know it is there we didn't have problems afterwards. There isn't really anything walking distance but there is a large grocery store just a 5 minute drive away and lots of places to eat and get stuff along the main road (routine 190) close by.
We appreciated that each bedroom has its own bathroom. All the spaces were clean and well supplied.
Definitely recommend it for families and we'd happily stay there again.
The grounds were beautiful, and the home was nice especially for how old it is. All of the amenities you need were there and provided for you. The owner was easy to get in touch with. The beds were a little uncomfortable and the rugs were a little dirty from so many visitors. I would definitely get rid of the rugs and show the beautiful floors. We had a restful stay and would give the house an overall 4.7 because of the beds and rugs.
This property was perfect for our family of 9 - 6 adults and 3 children. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the fishing pond. With the weather being a very hot July, the guest house and main house were cool and very comfortable. Cooking and serving meals in the kitchen worked very well with enough room for all. We also used the outside grill. The grounds were very spacious and accommodated various activities.
The grounds of this property are beautiful which made it a great short visit. The online description is misleading as it does not state the number of bedrooms in each house. It said five bedrooms and I thought they were all in one house so it caused a bit of a sleeping dilemma with children being in a separate area. The second house is very very musty. It was not noted that the hot tub would not be working.
This property is AMAZING! The house was originally built in 1882 and still has that charm! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Chris and Shannon were fantastic and took care of us. The only thing I think could be better is, me owning this beautiful Southern Home. Of you are looking, and it is available - BOOK IT! We came in to town this visit family with 12 people and 2 minivans, and this location was a perfect fit. My father-in-law even said, "I never thought we would have a house like this for a whole week alone!".
