First row to the water
We have a lovely, older family holiday home located directly at the waterâs edge in RĂždvig on Stevns, which we would like to rent out so more people can enjoy it.
Here, you get the opportunity to stay really close to the sea. In the bedroom, you can wake up just a few meters from the water in a comfortable adjustable bed, with the duvet snugly around you, and open the double doors to the most beautiful sunrise over the water or the crashing sea, depending on the weather. The bedroom can be darkened.
The house is regularly maintained and is bright and welcoming. We have furnished it with a mix of heirlooms and modern furniture. There is also a small room with two bunk beds, but the holiday home is primarily aimed at mature couples.
From the living room, you also have a fantastic view of the sea and the RĂždvig Harbour. You can see Stevns Klint on one side and MĂžns Klint on the other.
You can enjoy your breakfast at the waterâs edge and take a few steps down to the most wonderful swimming water. We have stones on the beach in front of our house, but you only need to walk a few meters to find the most beautiful sandy bottom. A little to the left towards RĂždvig Harbour, there is a clean sandy beach and also a bathing pier.
From the holiday homeâs location, you can walk right along the beach to a forest area, and to the left, you can walk along the beach to RĂždvig Harbour, where youâll find restaurants and cafes. You can enjoy good food both at Hotel Klinten and at RĂždvig Badehotel.
There is also the opportunity to take a hike on the so-called Stevns Klint Trampesti, where you can walk along the cliff edge in beautiful nature with a fantastic panoramic view. The trail stretches 21 kilometers from RĂždvig Harbour to the small harbor at BĂžgeskoven, where there is an old, cozy inn. A free bus operates along the trail, so you can hop on and off if you donât want to walk the entire route, or you can split it up over a few days and experience some of the historical sites along the way.
Stevns Klint is on UNESCOâs World Heritage List because it holds the history of the great mass extinction 66 million years ago. More than half of Earthâs animal species were wiped out, including the dinosaurs. You can experience this story at the Stevns Klint Experience museum, beautifully located in the former Boesdal Quarry.
Other places of interest include the HĂžjerup Old Church, which is so far out on the cliff that the church choir and part of the cemetery collapsed into the sea in 1928. There is also an inn where you can have lunch. You also pass the Stevns Fort museum. During the Cold War, the underground Stevnsfort was part of Denmarkâs and NATOâs defense.
The property is isolated from the rest of the holiday area, where you drive along a country road the last stretch to the house. See the map. Parking is available on the lawn behind the house.
If you prefer a better-supplied place for shopping, the Super Brugsen in Store Heddinge is recommended. Itâs about 8 km from RĂždvig. Note: Not for commercial rental.
