Idyllic 17th Century Thatched Cottage & Garden
Summary:
This picture-perfect, oak-framed thatched cottage in Elmley Castle dates back to the 1600s, yet is surprisingly spacious and luxurious. Set in beautifully landscaped gardens with a large feature pond and contemporary sculptures, it's in one of Worcestershireâs most attractive villages, just a short walk from the award-winning Queenâs Pub. Inside, find 3 ensuite bedrooms, a high-spec open-plan kitchen diner with an AGA, and several sumptuous lounges. Private parking for 5 vehicles.
The Space:
This chocolate-box thatched cottage in Elmley Castle dates back to the 1600s and has been thoughtfully extended to offer a spacious, luxurious retreat full of charm and character. Set within over 2 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens with a large feature pond, garden sculptures, multiple seating areas and BBQ, the setting is as enchanting as the home itself. Inside, the cottage is finished to an exceptional standard with high-spec fixtures, fittings and craftsmanship throughout. Much thought has been put into ensuring a light and airy space, with floor to ceiling windows and skylights aplenty.
The stunning kitchen is equipped with premium AGA appliances, a second electric oven & 2 ring hob, hot water tap, wine fridge and coffee machine, plus a separate utility room for your convenience. You'll also find a breakfast bar and dining area. After cooking up delicious meals, retire into one of three inviting living rooms. In the warmer months, enjoy the open-plan living room attached to the kitchen. Kitted out with a large smart TV and expansive bi-fold doors allowing you to gaze out at the expansive feature pond. Next door, the other cosy living rooms are perfect for winter nights, both with electric stoves and one with a smart TV.
Upstairs, two luxurious bedrooms, 1 super king and 1 king await, each with ensuite bathrooms and wall-mounted smart TVs. You'll find ample clothes storage and a dressing table too. A detached outbuilding across the courtyard adds flexibility. Complete with its own kitchenette, lounge with large smart TV and bookshelf speakers, sizeable writing desk, kingsize bedroom and ensuite, it's well-suited to those needing a bit of privacy. It's also all on one level so may be a good option for those with mobility limitations.

The Neighborhood:
Elmley Castle, a picturesque village in Worcestershire, offers a peaceful retreat with stunning countryside and historic charm. Nestled beneath Bredon Hill, part of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, itâs a paradise for walkers and nature lovers. Enjoy scenic trails leading to ancient sites, including the Iron Age hillfort and the Banbury Stone, with breathtaking views across the Vale of Evesham.
History enthusiasts can visit the nearby market towns of Pershore and Evesham, known for their medieval abbeys and beautiful riverside walks. Broadway, one of the prettiest Cotswold villages, is just a short drive away, offering boutique shops, art galleries, and charming tea rooms.
For a family day out, Croome Court, a National Trust property, boasts stunning landscapes and fascinating history. Wine lovers can explore local vineyards, while traditional country pubs serve delicious food and local ales. Elmley Castle is the perfect base for exploring Worcestershire and The Cotswolds countryside and heritage.
Getting Around:
Elmey Castle is a rural Cotswolds village, so a vehicle is recommended for getting the most out of your stay here. There is private parking in the open garage for 2 vehicles, with a further 3 spaces on the driveway.
Other Things to Note:
Please take care to preserve the garden. It has been carefully maintained to create a tranquil space, and it is unsuitable for ball games or similar activities.
Any damages to the garden, plants or ornaments will be charged for.
Safety Notice - Unfenced Pond
Please note that there is a large, unfenced pond close to the house. As this poses a safety risk, especially for young children and non-swimmers, the property is not suitable for infants or children.
Guests are fully responsible for supervising any children at all times. By booking, you acknowledge this safety consideration and accept full responsibility for using appropriate caution during your stay.
