à propos de cet hébergement
Coombe End Farm House
Whether youâre getting together with a group of friends for a special celebration or gathering the family for an unforgettable holiday, this spacious and impressive house is an ideal choice for large groups. The Grade II-listed farmhouse is located in a tranquil part of South Oxfordshire, surrounded by rolling fields â a real escape to the countryside. Pangbourne village, with its individual shops, pubs and cafes, and tranquil water meadows, is just 2.5 miles away, while Goring and Streatley are both 4 miles away. Walkers will love the excellent choice of trails nearby, including the Ridgeway, the Thames Path and the Chiltern Way. The Thames Path between Goring and Pangbourne will take you through the dramatic Goring Gap and under the red-brick railway arch designed by Brunel himself. Beale Wildlife Park is only 4 miles away, Henley-on-Thames is 11.5 miles away, and Highclere Castle (where Downton Abbey was filmed) is 27 miles away.
This remarkable detached farmhouse has all the period features you could wish for in a property that includes elements that date as far back as the 17th century, including rustic beams, grand fireplaces, panelled walls, with character rambling interiors. From the entrance hall, turn right to find the corridor and steps leading to the library, the first of several cosy spaces in which to switch off and unwind. This room has plenty of comfortable seating, an open fire and a Smart TV. Back through the hall, youâll find the lounge, another gorgeous room with leaded windows, beams, an open fire and a wooden floor. The kitchen is centred around a farmhouse-style breakfast table where you can drink a morning coffee, chop some vegetables or sip a glass of wine, and includes a range cooker as well as an electric cooker to make the chefâs life easier. The handsome dining room is a sight to behold, with its long antique table and array of chairs. At one end is an open fire, while at the other is a small desk in case you need to catch up with some admin while away. This room leads through to the snug; this is a peaceful spot with an ornamental fireplace, antique furniture, leaded windows and a comfortable sofa thatâs ready and waiting for someone to curl up with a book. From this room, thereâs a lovely view through the French doors to the garden. There are five bedrooms on the first floor, all offering the same lovely mix of traditional opulence and modern comforts. The super-king-size room is huge and boasts a large, ornamental fireplace and a sleek en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and shower. Three king-size bedrooms share a family bathroom, and one of these bedrooms interconnects with the twin room, which has an en-suite bathroom. Up on the top floor, youâll find a delightful double bedroom, a king-size, a family bedroom comprising three single beds or one single and a super-king-size, a twin, and two further bedrooms which can be made up as twins or super-king-size on request. This floor is also home to two bathrooms, one of which includes a separate shower.
This brick-and-flint house is set within 3 acres of grounds, with an orchard, wooded area and an extensive lawned garden to the rear, with mature trees and far-ranging views over the surrounding countryside. It also boasts a sweet, thatched hut from which to admire the views. Please be aware that the grounds include a large, unfenced pond. Youâll have private parking for up to six cars.
