Weekend getaway

Clean, cool and breezy. Very comfortable bed. Lovely place to relax. Close to bus stop and easy stroll to Horseshoe Bay.

Lovely place right near horseshoe bay. Beautiful relaxing environment and the right size for a small family like us. Had everything we needed. Hosts were just so lovely and welcoming and had amazing tips on how to make the most of the island. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back and stay at this gem. Thanks Tee and Steve.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Gatehouse in Horseshoe Bay. It’s a charming, peaceful spot just steps from the beach. The house has two bedrooms—a queen and a room with two singles plus a cozy sofa area—air conditioning, a well-equipped kitchen, BBQ, and dining space for four. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and gave us great tips about the island. Restaurants and cafes are nearby, and the bus makes exploring easy without a car. We had a wonderful time and would love to return!

Wonderful Stay on Magnetic Island!

We had such a lovely time at this little quirky holiday home! The place has a fun, unique charm and was very comfortable for our family. The hosts were absolutely fantastic — super friendly, full of great local recommendations, and incredibly kind to our kids (they even gave them some books to read, which was such a thoughtful touch!).The location couldn’t be better — just a short walk to the beach and really close to everything else you might need. It felt like a perfect base for exploring the island. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming stay with great hosts!

The property is beautiful and well located although a little more than "footsteps" to the beach, it's a nice flat 5 min walk. We were comfortable at all times. Our host was super friendly and very helpful including services above and beyond expectations. We couldn't find the BBQ on the premises but there was one about 5 mins walk away.

Lovely and relaxing

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Gatehouse. It was very comfortable with plenty of room and had everything we needed. We loved the light and ambience and the quirkiness of the design. Tee and Steve were wonderful hosts, very friendly, helpful and generous. We look forward to returning in the future and catching up with them again. Highly recommended.

Fabulous stay

This was the perfect place for my stay in Horseshoe Bay. There was supposed to be 2 of us staying, but it ended up just being me. It was clean, spacious and had everything you could possibly need, even a kayak. Communication with the hosts, Tee and Steve, was perfect and they checked in during my stay to make sure everything was going well. No hesitation in recommending.

We fell in love with Magnetic Island as it is truly beautiful in so many ways, the people are smiling like it's a vacation day everyday!
You can feel the calmness, you can wander safely and aimessly you can find that serenity and space if desired.
It's like stepping back in time- pure peace

When you need the buzz it's all of 5 minutes away to a great cafe or bar or a night out at the local theatre, yeap there are some fine restaurants too, or simple fish and chips at the seaside, there is something for everyone.

The variety of beaches from snorkeling hotspots to big white open bays to roam shell collecting to the cutest coves.
The roaming wildlife is in abundance ! Koalas, wallabies , birds of paradise so much to discover on the multitude of walking tracks.
Vast majority of the island is in it's natural state, where you can go on a adventure wandering to incredible views. The rocks are picture perfect captures.
Waterfalls when they are running are nature's best!
The walking tracks are numerous, a choice for all abilities.

The best is the Great Barrier Reef! - so easy to get out on the water to explore and experience first hand the wonder's of the underwater world.
Be it paddle board or snorkeling or diving or fishing it's right there a few footsteps away from the front door
