This was perfect for me on my own - great location, clean and convenient little home from home, beautiful garden, friendly hosts around if anything was needed. Iâll definitely stay here again when I return to Arran.
Good sized cottage for a couple to stay in and for self catering. The hosts were great. Nice location within walking distance to the pubs and port in lamlash
The cottage provided a very good base for us to travel around Arran and see most of the sights. It was also convenient to be able to walk into Lamlash on an evening.
A small property in a very quiet location. Easy access with a car. Comfortable bed. Perfect for one but a but tight to move around in some areas for someone with slightly limited mobility.
This house is in a great location in Lamlash just a few minutes to the Main Street and the beach. The house had everything you could possibly need for your stay and while it is advertised as a 1 bedroom there is actually 2 bedrooms so plenty of storage. It was very clean and bright and the owners were lovely. Plenty of outside space with a great garden. Wouldnât hesitate to stay again :-)
Honestly, for the price, this place probably can't be beat. Our host was kind and generous. The cottage is small, but cozy. We loved the realistic looking fire glow in the lounge, and loved having the second bedroom that is converted to a dressing room- a great place to keep your cases and such out of the way and organized! The garden is very nice, with a bench you can easily move to follow the sun or shade, and has an obstructed but still lovely view to Holy Isle. Lamlash is a short and beautiful walk away, with fantastic views over the bay and to Holy Isle. Our favorite shoreline view on the whole Island! There we found two fantastic beer gardens and restaurants; The Drift Inn and Glenisle Hotel. The main sticking point for us was that the cottage is within the host's back garden, which for some will be fine. But we never feel quite comfortable in that situation; we didnât quite feel like we had the privacy we would have preferred. So, if you are like us, take note.
This place is a little gem! It's small and rustic but immaculate and Isobel has thought of every little detail to make your stay comfortable. There is space for a car if you're driving (although I brought my bike!) The cottage sits at the back of the owners property, but they were very discreet and I did not see them all week (although I knew they were there if I needed anything!). The kitchen has every utensil you can think of which is perfect for a self catering option. There is also a washing machine if you need it, and a lovely garden area for drying (if you get the weather!) The bed was comfortable and there is a separate dressing area with hair dryer - iron - etc. Honestly, a wonderful little place and I will 100% be back - highly recommended! Thank you Isobel for being a great host.
