À propos de cet hébergement
Mountain View House 120sqm 2 separate apartmnts car park spring water fiber WIFI
The house is located in International Village, Kampot which is about 5km from Kampot town on the road to Sihanoukville and midway between the sea and Bokor mountain. As the name suggests this is an area sectioned into plots of land which were sold to foreigners at $6 per square metre. Most of the plots are large and there are many new build and impressive buildings and resorts built in the last 20 years. There are 7 hostelries in the village 3 of which have owners from England.
Kampot is 150 km from the capital city Phnom Penh. The VIP bus lakes 2 hours and costs £6.
Mountain View House is located at the edge of the village close to Joe's Bar and accessed by a private road. It is surrounded by rice fields and farmland and has a clear unobstructed view of Bokor mountain and the forests below. Joe's bar has a swimming pool which is free to use for guests.
International village is in Bokor Mountain National Park, about 5km from Kampot Town and 10km from Bokor Mountain. The trip to town takes 15 minutes by motorbike and costs £2 by tuk-tuk. Motorbike rental is £5 a day or £40 per month. You must wear a helmet but you do not need license or insurance.
Tony will arrange motorbikes to be delivered to the house if you want them.
Mountain View is a detached house organized as two self contained apartments each with a security door.. The first floor apartment is accessed by external stairway and has a 15 m2 balcony at the front with an amazing view of the mountain and the sunset. It’s a great place to party and an awesome place to watch the sunset.
The ground floor apartment has easy access and is ideal if you have restricted mobility with doors to the front and to the rear. You can push a wheelchair right up to the door.
The house is approached by a private driveway with solar street lights. There is plenty of parking for motorbikes, quad bike and a small car, Fibre WiFi is included in the price.
Kampot temperature is between 27 and 33 degrees all year round. Mostly its sunny but sometimes it rains. Proximity to the mountain means there is almost always a cooling breeze. In short it is the perfect climate to live outdoors. Mountain View has an outdoor kitchen which is protected from the rain and sun by an overhanging roof. All of the facilities are accessible when it rains. Easy access for Tuk Tuks and motorbike deliveries and 300m from Joe’s bar which has a free to use swimming pool.
The kitchen has sink, gas cooker, wok burner, two fridges plus electric points to plug other appliances. There is a big barbecue which is perfect for parties. Eating and drinking spots are scattered through the garden. There is a place to have a campfire and a bamboo deck over the pond with the most amazing view of the sunset.
If you don’t want to cook local delivery service Nham24 (very good) gives you access to a most of Kampot town restaurants. Delivery time is 15 minutes and cold beers are £50p delivered. Bohehiaz resort is 1 mile away has a full English and Vegetarian menu. Open and serving food from breakfast until late.
The ground floor apartment is a cute wood paneled room with red curtains. Area is about 50 sqm – that is a big space. It is comfortably furnished with double bed, fan, clothes rack, shoe rack, table and two bamboo sofas. There is and en-suite wet room with toilet basin and shower.
Two doors one to the front terrace and one to the rear. Both are strong doors with security locks. The rear door goes out to the kitchen and the stairs to the second floor. You can drive a motorbike right up to the door and park it where it is dry.
The first floor apartment is accessed via an external stairway with a beautiful wooden handrail This leads on to a 20 sqm covered balustraded balcony. This is big enough to hold a party, sheltered from the rain and an awesome place to watch the sun go down. There is a hammock so you can take a nap while waiting for sundown.
Internally is a spacious 50 sqm furnished with double bed, air conditioner, clothes rack, table chair and a sofa. Hammock located on the balcony can be moved inside. A single bed is available if you request it. There is an en-suite wet room with toilet basin and shower.
A strong security doors leads to the balcony and the stairway. There is another balcony at the rear for hanging clothes.
The garden at Mountain View house is a delight. Filled with flowering shrubs and exotic trees, flanked by bananas and mangoes. With Coconut palms, Durian trees and bamboo to provide shade. A mature 2 colour climbing bougainvillea adorns the front of the house providing floods of vibrantly coloured flowers throughout most of the year.
Paths meander through the garden from the house to the well stocked fish pond at the end where you can fish for carp, watch the mountain and breath the sweet scented fresh air.

I'm from Scotland a cold country in the North of the UK. The climate here is constant and tropical. The mountain is 1000m which makes it a Munroe
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
Why choose Kampot for a holiday?
• Rich in natural beauty and places to visit. Bokor Mountain National Park is an amazing day trip by tuk-tuk. One hour by motorbike. Mountain top is 1000m – so its a Munroe. Waterfalls, lakes and rapids within easy reach of the house.
• Kampot Town Historic Colonial market town, retains many of its arched walk ways. Famous for “Kampot pepper“, Durian roundabout and the Seahorse fountain. Big enough to have everything for a busy holiday and small enough that you can walk through arcades and lanes and discover something new on every corner. The Kampot “big market” is a typical old Asian market, an adventure
• Riverside a natural playground from the mountain to the sea. Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, boating in clear blue mountain water at 28oC. Then on to miles of white sandy beaches as the river gets close to the sea. Lined with friendly places to stop and talk and eat. 1000’s of km to walk and explore...
• £4 steak and chips, 50p beer. Everywhere smiles. Cambodians like to party – they celebrate every occasion with music and colour. Three new years, a host of local festivals and events.
• Kampot has tuk-tuks, good roads and no traffic.
Why choose Kampot to live?
• Quality of life, constant climate and healthy air. Civilised, European style living
• English is the Cambodian second language to its easy to understand and communicate.
• USD currency and bank account. Better than sterling. No limit to transfer of funds into Cambodia or out of Cambodia.
• Good pharmacies – all medicine available. Don’t need prescription.
• Retirement visa. Over 50 year old annual retirement visa for £220 per year. No income tax if over 50.
• Business visa for under 50 year old. £140 for 6 months. £80 per annum flat rate tax. You do no need a work permit.
• Many digital Nomads choose to live here. Cambodia does not have a tax agreement with UK.
• Drivers are courteous and well mannered.
