Architects Cabin OMG! Airbnb Winner | Year Round
OMG! đ Airbnb Winner đż Monocoque Cabin - is your Unique Cabin. The structure is inspired by the WW2 De Havilland a plywood wood Fighter plane. The structure is something that I designed and built with a group of friends in 2023.
If you are interested, you can read more about the Monocoque Cabin when you look us up ;)
Come experience living in a unique timber home with your private garden - connected to the Shropshire Union Canal - how cool is that?
**Please read the full listing before booking***
1. A Secluded Escape in Nature
Designed and built by Peter Markos as a Self-Builder and Architect the Monocoque Cabin offer a peaceful retreat in a quiet rural setting. Surrounded by trees and overlooking the nearby canal, the cabin provides a simple and comfortable space to relax and enjoy the natural environment.
2. Thoughtful and Functional Design
The cabin features a free-flowing interior with ribbed walls and custom-built furniture that create a clean, minimalist atmosphere. Warm plywood finishes and natural textures make the space feel welcoming without being overcomplicated.
3. Comfortable Living
The cabin is equipped with the essentials for a cosy stay, including a discreetly integrated bathroom and a compact yet functional kitchenette. While the space is modest in size, it has been designed to provide everything you need for a short break.
4. Water During Summer
During particularly dry summer periods, the water supply may occasionally drop out. It usually returns within an hour or two, but please do let us know if you experience any issues.
5. Private Outdoor Space
The cabin includes a small, tree-lined garden that offers privacy and a connection to the outdoors. While itâs not fully enclosed for dogs, itâs a peaceful spot to sit, relax, or enjoy the fresh air. There is over 0.2 Acres of private gardens (which is a lot for a Unique Cabin.)
6. Shropshire Canals
The cabin plot of land is connected to the Shropshire Union Canals, but you can not see it if you are sitting in the Cabin. During the Summer months, there are lots of canal boats going past, which is great to watch and listen to. These simple but charming views add to the relaxed, rural setting.
7. Year-Round Comfort
The cabin is equipped with electric heaters and a biofuel fire to keep it warm, even during colder months. However, itâs worth noting that rural weather can be unpredictable, and the area can get chilly in winter.
8. Accessible Yet Peaceful
While the cabin is tucked away in a quiet location, itâs within a short drive of Market Drayton and other local amenities. Itâs best accessed by car, as public transport options are limited. This is a modest and simple space, ideal for guests who appreciate the unique design and a peaceful rural setting. Itâs perfect for those looking to disconnect from the busyness of daily life and enjoy the quiet charm of the countryside.
9. Cleaning/House Manager
Our cleaning fee may be higher than some other listings because we believe in paying our cleaner a fair, living wage. Weâre proud to support local employment.
10. Location and Amenities:
Strategically located (by car)-
âą2 miles (4 minutes) from Market Drayton
âą12 miles (15 minutes) from Stafford
âą45 miles (55 minutes) from Birmingham
âą58 miles (84 minutes) from Manchester
We recommend having a car for your stay at the Monocoque Cabin, as there are no shops in the immediate vicinity. That said, a charming pub is just a 5-minute walk away.
If youâre up for a scenic stroll, you can reach the centre of Market Drayton via the canal path, which is connected to the Cabin. Keep in mind that this walk takes around 40 minutes, is weather-dependent, and the path is not well-lit, making it ideal for daytime exploration.
11. Cabin Features and Amenities:
âąCurvy polycarbonate windows
âąAir-Fryer
âąHigh-speed Wi-Fi (recently added for remote work or streaming)
âąCompost Toilet (with a powered ventilation fan)
âąComfort Essentials: Clean towels, linens, shampoo, body wash, and hand soap
âąFully Equipped Space: Mini fridge, induction hob, microwave, and kitchen sink
âąCosy Comfort: Timber-frame bed, extra blankets, and 3 electric heaters with smart plugs (Tapo)
âąEntertainment: Board games, a puzzle, and magazines/guidebooks
âąOutdoor Warmth: Bio-fuel fire with 1 litre of fuel provided
âąOther Details: Eye masks, dehumidifier, side tables, and outlets (3-prong and USB)
Guests have access to a spacious, secluded area of the working farm, which includes direct access to the canal.
Guests are free to enjoy fishing along the canal during their stay. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to run in the garden, but please do clear up any dog litter. I aim to ensure your stay is unforgettable.
Self-check in with a lockbox at any time. If you have any questions or any problems arise, please call, text, or email anytime. In the unlikely event of an issue, I will promptly contact the appropriate parties to ensure a swift resolution. If you do have any questions, please let us know before booking.
