Enjoy the private fishing rights, the renound local pub, the views of the black mountains or visit Hay on Wye. Wrap yourself up in the sumptuous interiors, while away the hours on the balcony overlooking the fields, or enjoy the al fresco dining set up in the greenhouse or the short walk to endless wild swimming. There are OS maps in the house and you can walk for miles without getting in the car. From the house, head down to
the river and you join the Wye Valley Trail turning left to Glasbury and Hay on Wye, or right to Bourghrood. Alternatively
go through the gate at the back of the house into the field behind and keep walking along the field and there is some
amazing birdwatching on the water.
Swimming at Glasbury -
We are so close to the River Wye to swim in. Please bring your own swimming towels for
outdoor swimming and please note that this is something you do entirely at your own risk.
Private fishing - We have 1200m of private fishing at the lodge - you will need to book a ticket in advance. It is ÂŁ25 per
head for the duration of your stay.

This Welsh cottage holiday home right on the banks of The River Wye truly is one of the most unique stays youâll find in the UK and is already famous and well loved by thousands of visitors.
Nestled in an idyllic and breathtaking location, River Cottage backs right on to the river where you have access to a huge spacious private garden backing right on to the water with private fishing and views into the Welsh mountains.
Ideal for all times of year, the garden and outside area is truly special, featuring enough space to host events and celebrations; it has plenty of garden furniture, a BBQ and dining area, and stunning views.
The farmhouse has quintessentially British architecture and features, but is decorated in contemporary and modern decor with wonderful cosy and comfortable furniture and beds that will make you feel perfectly at home.
Inside the house there are three large bedrooms with super king zip and link beds enabling a variety of bed formations depending on your group size.
For those who truly want to step away and escape this is the most fabulous place to truly unwind in.
There is a bathroom with a free standing bath and another shower room. The living spaces are open, spacious and full of light - perfect for relaxing with your group.
In terms of location River Cottage is close by to so many wonderful things to do, thereâs even an amazing local pub right at the end of the driveway
