A lovely stay for 4 in the most beautiful quiet valley on the edge of the Black Mountains. The house is perfectly equipped and the hosts very welcoming.
Such a delightful stay -cosy, exceptionally clean cottage with everything we needed.
Lovely quite location although you are unable to work anywhere due to the roads but lovely pubs in just a short drive away.
The welcome hamper was gorgeous abs such a lovely surprise!
Beautiful and comfortable cottage with the sound of a running river at the bottom of the garden. Quite isolated - down a few miles of very narrow twisty turny roads but very peaceful. Kids will love the little play gypsy caravan in the garden.
Glynis and Gethin were wonderful hosts. The cottage lacks for nothing and is very comfortable. Very peaceful, relaxing and private. The sound and smells of the countryside abound.
This property is well planned, warm and comfortable. The double doors on the living area provide good light and the high ceiling in this area gives a spacious feel. A few steps up to the sleeping area provide good separation. The main bathroom is spacious and the second (en-suite) is useful.
Communication was great. (The owners helped us with specific requests before we arrived and greeted us on arrival).
Walking from the site is signposted and beautiful.
Absolutely everything was perfect from beginning to end. Met the owner Gethin who was friendly and chatty. Answered all our questions. Cottage was amazingly clean throughout. No Covid concerns here! Great place, great beds, great everything. Thank you.
The list of things we love about this area would go on and on, but I am personally most conscious of the sense of peace and space. My wife loves the sound of the river and the changes that each season brings to the rhythm of rural life. I am constantly reminding myself of how lucky I am to be surrounded by such stunning landscapes, whether it's the Black Hill which rises above us or simply walking along the lane to our favourite 17th Century Bull's Head in Craswall. We love to welcome our guests and hope to share with them what this glorious part of the country has to offer, such as exploring the Welsh Marches, the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons, plus the charming towns of Hay on Wye (8 miles) and Abergavenny (14 miles).
The cottage is in a beautiful, valley setting, with the River Monnow running along the border. The Cat's Back and Black Hill can be reached on foot from the front door while there are many other walking opportunities within a short distance. The children's play shepherd's hut is a huge hit with young children.
