Les points forts : Arrivée, communication, emplacement et exactitude de l’annonce
Acton Manor is a magnificent country house with extensive outside space and has the added advantage of a games room and, at an additional charge, a hot tub. Most of the bedrooms are large with four poster beds and it was clean and fairly comfortably furnished. However, the overall impression is that of being tired and poorly maintained which give rise to a number of faults that require attention, and left us with a feeling of disappointment about our short stay here. The major problems included a mattress on the top bunk which we had to supplement with a duvet, heating that could not be turned off in some rooms (during a heatwave!), and the key and locks on the exit doors frequently jammed. The dishwasher bottom drawer is broken and there was no welcome pack. A call to the manager resulted in some missing items like bin liners and dishwasher tablets being provided and a maintenance man to assist with the doors. Outside, there were insufficient garden chairs, the store for cushions was dirty, the cushions mouldy and the few toys were dirty and broken. The barbecue and patio are a good size but the gas ran out halfway through cooking. The outdoor play equipment was dangerously decrepit, with large rusty nails sticking out and broken climbing equipment. This property has so much potential and a bit of care and attention could bring it up to the standard which would be worthy of the cost to hire. As it is, it leaves an impression of being past its best.

Family holiday July 2025.
We had a family holiday here in July 2025. The property is a very quaint large Tudor building and with it being originally built in the 1500's is exactly what you would expect. The bedrooms were large and the living areas big enough for a family of 8 adults.
The large grounds were great for two dogs to explore and let off steam.
The house and grounds are in need of some TLC. The various outdoor storage boxes were full of cobwebs and didn't look like they had been used for some time. This was the same for the various garden games. The area around the jacuzzi and barbeque were fill of leaves which had not been cleared away - giving a sense of neglect.
The jacuzzi only worked properly on the day we arrived - it then began to not heat the water and we had to contact the property manager for assistance - this was a protracted issue that took several days to resolve - not the managers fault as the engineer failed to turn up when they said. However we had to chase the manager who then in turn chased the engineer - in total we were 4 days out of 10 without the jacuzzi.
The modern changes to the house i.e. bathrooms are looking tired. The shower screen in the en-suite bathroom was a struggle to open and close, and grated heavily. The decor in all the bathrooms could do with refreshing.
In all a little TLC to the house and grounds would be of great benefit and provide an even better experience. It feels that the current owners have given little attention to it for sometime.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your recent stay at Tudor Manor. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the character and spaciousness of the property, and that the grounds provided a great space for your family and dogs to enjoy. We’re sorry to hear that some areas of the house and garden did not meet expectations during your stay. Your comments regarding the outdoor storage boxes, garden games, and the area around the hot tub and barbecue have been shared with the owner, who has confirmed that the gardens have since been attended to and will continue to receive more regular care moving forward. The outdoor storage areas are used by the owner for personal storage and are not intended for guest use, but we appreciate your observations and have passed them along. We’re sorry to hear you experienced issues with the hot tub during your stay, and we are glad to hear that the property manager was able to get this resolved. Your feedback regarding the bathrooms and interiors has also been shared with the owner.

A lovely house with lots to keep the kids entertained
Stayed here recently with a party of ten of us. We contacted them a few days prior asking for earlier check in as we were arriving on a Tuesday and could see it was not booked for 2-3 days beforehand, but we were told they couldn't do any earlier than 2pm, but this was better than the standard 4pm.
The Tudor Manor is a lovely house with lots to keep the children entertained on site with an amazing zip line, play area, trampoline pool table, dart board, fully stocked outdoor play store and hot tub.
The house was immaculately clean and there was a lovely welcome basket with wine, cookies, crisps, fruit, juice, milk, butter and jam.
The kitchen is well equipped, the only thing missing was a large saucepan or roaster which we needed to cook but we got round it. The extractor fan doesn't work but maybe they have it on a 'to do' list There is a single fridge in the kitchen plus a double fridge/freezer in the utility which is very handy for large parties. The utility is also equipped with washing machine, dryer and drying racks. Washing powder and softener also provided.
There are 6 bedrooms, all well laid out with plenty of storage. Most beds were comfortable but the mattress in the top bunk was very uncomfortable and we had to put another duvet on it for my nephew who didn't sleep well the first night.
The hot tub is amazing and as it was February we also used the log burner (this hadn't been cleaned out) and whilst there was a wood store, there was no kindling or matches to get it started but we made it work.
Overall we really enjoyed the house and would recommend it.
