My wife is originally from Centralia and we wanted to visit some family and friends. This was perfect, so much better than any hotel stay. We turned our visit into a mini vacation for the kids. Wonderful time with fishing, camp fires, and looking at the stars. Took a trip down to Garden of the Gods while we were there too! We'd come back for sure!
We've stayed here multiple times. The home is very clean and well appointed. Our family was very comfortable. The lake is wonderful - peaceful and great for swimming, fishing and tooling around. Jake and Krista are the best hosts!
Barefoot Beach House will make you feel like you are home. Well maintained and supplied. You will find it clean and homey. Toys for your littles in a chest similar to a hope chest. Also, a table and chairs just right for a 1.5 and 2.5 year olds. They claimed the table right away. We celebrated my husbandâs 70th birthday. Our guests were very impressed and asking for rental information. The view was breathtaking with snow geese on the water coming and going. I have never went into a rental to fresh flowers in a beautiful vase!!!
We greatly enjoyed our stay and had some fun and relaxing time with our family and friends. We especially enjoyed the beach area, dock, and fishing. A paddle boat, canoe, and two kayaks were also provided. It was a very safe and comfortable vacation spot.
Came to Centralia for a family reunion. Just minutes away from my sisters place. Beautiful home with relaxing view. Thank you for sharing your lake home.
We had a great time!! The house is beautiful and equipped with everything you need!! The hosts are so friendly and helpful!! We will be back for sure!â
Communication was great throughout. House was exactly as advertised. Quite place with awesome beach for kids and dogs. There were 2 pump jacks for gas and oil on the next property and our 2yr old grandson was fascinated, the noise was minimal. Would stay again next summer no doubt. Thanks for a great vacation.
Very nice house with everything you need. Very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the beach. Only thing I would suggest is a couple of lounge chairs for the patio would be nice. The area is nice and peaceful. I would highly recommend Barefoot Beach House.
This place was borderline perfect. Every detail was thought of by the owners. (Everything from the kids table and chairs to the indoor/outdoor speakers) We were surprised to see the oil diggers next to the property but luckily they didnât create as much noise as expected. We would definitely stay here again.
We booked this for a girls get away trip. The house was absolutely amazing. Clean and so comfy. We felt very safe staying there since it was just us ladies. The host had excellent communication. Definitely recommend and would stay again. Thank you.
The pictures of the property don't do it justice. Beautiful open floor plan. Great view and very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Close to town if you forget anything but you fell like you're in the country. Highly recommend.
Our mini vacation at Barefoot was wonderful! Family joined us from St Louis with 3 little boys. They loved the sand beach, swimming, fishing and campfires. We adults loved the patio, beautiful lake view and wildlife.
The only problem we had was as seniors we cannot do stairs so we had to carry luggage and groceries down the hill an enter through the patio doors. This was a challenge. A sidewalk would have been so appreciated.
Regardless,Barefoot is an outstanding vacation home!
This property ticked all the boxes for us (and our dog). It was just as described and included other unexpected (but much appreciated) amenities. We stayed for five nights in July 2024, and would love to return.
You can tell the owners want it to feel like a home away from home for their guests. All we had to do was stock the fridge, and we didnât need or want for anything more for our entire stay!
The house is wonderfully situated on the lake and has spectacular indoor areas and views of the lake. With the tree lines on both sides of the property, the patio and yard/beach area is private. The patio and yard features amble shade and seating. It was very easy to relax and be comfortable, both inside and outside the house.
Be mindful that you shouldnât expect super fast internet from the Wi-Fi or from cellular networks (at least not AT&T). During our stay, there was generally enough bandwidth for light internet usage for two people or one streaming device at a time. I took a few speed tests during our stay and the download speeds ranged from about 2 to 8 Mbps (as of July 2024). I wouldnât recommend this property for someone taking a âworking vacation,â but it should be fine for most people seeking a nice getaway. Thereâs lots of other things to keep you entertained!
Upon check in we were so impressed with the cleanliness of this property. Even more impressive since this is a pet friendly property. Worth noting that the main entrance is on the upper level (with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom). Master and living space is down the stairs. Our special needs daughter has some mobility issues so we walked her down the small hill to the beach entrance. Not a big deal at all.
That master bathroom is AMAZING! I wish I had the opportunity to use the jetted tub (definitely no worries about the âickâ factor with jets as the cleanliness of the rest of the property was reassuring.). The GINORMOUS shower was perfect for accommodating the shower chair my daughter uses when bathing.
Kitchen was well stocked but we could have used more variety of pots as we did a fair amount of cooking. We loved the great big table by the window.
Tons of linens/towels and even shower products.
Now for the main reason I picked this placeâŠthe sandy beach. PERFECT!!! The water was so warm and calm. The gentle slope into deeper water made it so easy for my daughter to enjoy the water. The sandy beach was a great place for relaxing and building castles. Very sunny so we set up a pop up canopy for shade which kept us very comfortable. We did spot a turtle it 2 and had a few visitors from a big noisy bird.
We usually like to try new areas on our vacations but would definitely consider putting this one on repeat.
My wife and I purchased the property in 2002. After returning from working in Alaska. We built our home from October of 2009 to June of 2010. We designed and built the home with the help of family and friends over the course of a year.
We grew up on Lake Centralia and have many memories of the area. Lake friends used to own this lot and cabin. We purchased the cabin and lot in 2002 and built this house in 2010.
