À propos de cet hébergement
Taureau - Trois Chambres Villa, Couchages 6
There’s a sense of authentic charm at this lovely house in Provence with glorious views of the Vallée des Baux. Sleeping up to 6 guests and with a private heated swimming pool, it is a great base for exploring the beauty of Les Alpilles.
Here you are less than a 10-minute drive from Les Baux-de-Provence, one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ with its hilltop setting, medieval centre and historic château. There’s artistic Saint-Rémy-de-Provence only 9km to the north whilst Arles, another great highlight of this region, is easily reached within half an hour.
Admire an abundance of character in this pretty abode from the stone arched lounge with its cool tiled flooring to the wood-beamed dining room. Find two doubles on the ground floor, one with a modern en suite Italian shower, and a third bedroom upstairs beneath the traditional sloping ceiling.
Outside, sit back with a glass of Provençal rosé on the stone terrace or take a dip in the heated swimming pool overlooking the valley before playing pétanque in rustic surroundings. As evening nears, there’s an abundance of restaurants within a short drive whether dining out on the local village square in picturesque Maussane-les-Alpilles or enjoying the renowned cuisine of Le Bistrot du Paradou, around 5km away.
Overall, Taureau offers the opportunity to relax with family and friends whilst being in a fine setting for discovering this gorgeous part of Provence.

Location:
In the heart of Les Alpilles Regional Natural Park, Taureau is close to the picturesque villages of Maussane-les-Alpilles and Les Baux-de-Provence. Fly into airports near Avignon, Nimes or Marseille, or arrive via train into Avignon TGV (29km) – fast train services from Paris Gare de Lyon take just 2 hours 45 minutes.
Taureau enjoys a rural location yet is not isolated as there is another house next door and you are only 2.5km by car from Maussane-les-Alpilles (the D5 that connects Maussane-les-Alpilles to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is only 500m away). This part of Provence is known for its olive oil production which you can try in Maussane-les-Alpilles, a charming village with a range of restaurants, delightful shops and a Thursday morning market. The little village of Paradou (5km) is another gem of this area, renowned for its little bistro so loved by Rick Stein.
There are some beautiful walks around Les Baux-de-Provence (5km), a hilltop village officially classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, home to a pretty medieval centre and a historic château. Head there early before the summer day-trippers arrive! The region also offers horse-riding, rock-climbing, cycling and wonderful hikes (some forest routes may close in the height of the summer).
The artistic town Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (9km) hosts a bustling market on a Wednesday morning and is loved for its art galleries and Van Gogh associations. Arles (21km) is another must-see for art and history enthusiasts – it is where Van Gogh painted ‘Café Terrace at Night’ and you can visit the town’s incredible Roman amphitheatre.
Arles is the gateway to the captivating landscapes of the Camargue which lead to the Mediterranean beaches around the seaside town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (60km). Another glorious part of Provence to explore is the Luberon with its iconic perched villages, vineyards, orchards and magnificent natural scenery.
