Our huts are luxurious and make for the perfect glamping getaway. Decorated beautifully, they offer block printed linens, hand-stitched quilts, and the comfiest king-size bedchamber. You will be glamping with a hot shower, a fully fitted kitchen, electric underfloor heating, and log burning stoves to keep you extra warm. The two huts are 20m apart sitting in a meadow and surrounded by fields. There are hammocks to read in, an outdoor firepit with wooden armchairs, and sheep wool rugs.

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed it very much. The surroundings are amazing and we could have stayed for more days if we could. You have everything you need, and the quality is very good. 10/10 recommend!

Fabulous!!

We only stayed for 3 nights but wished it had been longer. The Shepherds hut had all the comforts and in an incredible location. The view was amazing, as were the staff. We did two lovely walks and enjoyed sitting out on the patio. Loved it!

Fantastic stay!

Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Amazing views. Outside seating with a fire pit /bbq which was great. Also very private with plenty of walking trails from the hut. Would definitely recommend.

A quaint quiet getaway

Lapwing shepherds hut is a lovely little place for anyone wishing to escape for a few days. The huts are very isolated with the most beautiful views over the valley. Inside we found everything we could need for the few nights we stayed. The log burner was great and a nice touch to have it all ready just to light when we got there but made the hut far too hot and we had to open the windows and doors. Nice big fluffy towels and heated towel rail was a treat on the cold mornings, even the view from the loo was lovely!! Bed was comfy and the pillows good. Place was immaculate and I could not fault it. Only grip was walking from the car to the hut is on uneven ground which was slippy as it had been damp and this could be a hazard… an even hardcore path would be much nicer. Will definitely stay again.

Gorgeous little hut with everything you need in a stunning location

The shepherds hut lived up to expections. It has everything you need - underfloor heating, shower, hot water, oven, fridge, etc. It's amazing how much can fit into such a small place. The location is stunning. The only thing missing is wifi, which probably seems a bit ridiculous, but I was staying on my own at the end of October and it got dark by about 5, so I was using my laptop to watch a film or two and it quickly used all of my data. Much as I loved the place, I wouldn't stay on my own at this time of year again. The nights were too long, dark and quiet for me in such an isolated location, but that's not a criticism of the place. I would love to stay again, but if I was on my own I'd do it in the summer.

Superb

Stayed in the Lapwing shepherd’s hut twice now and we absolutely love it. We’ll definitely be back again. Such a nice spot and the hut has everything you need and it’s presented so well. Especially like having the maps of the local area to be able to plan walks etc. A really simple thing but so convenient. It’s such a peaceful and secluded spot. Sitting outside with the fire pit is just perfect. 10/10

Stunning views

Everything we needed for a comfortable stay in an amazing location. We really appreciated the cosy touches and quality of the fittings. The hammock and outdoor seating was a bonus. We tried a couple of the recommended walks and enjoyed exploring the area around the hut. Would recommend stocking up with basic supplies at Ballinluig before heading up the hill as the drive is long and uneven in places.

Hidden Gem

Peaceful retreat,gorgeous setting with stunning views. The hut contains all the amenities you need and is an excellent base to explore the area. Yvonne was very welcoming and the huts are dog friendly too

A Beautiful Stay

We spent two nights in Lapwing shepherd’s hut and it was lovely. The accommodation was very clean, modern and had everything we could need, down to all the kitchen crockery. We spent a lot of time around the fire pit and were grateful for the firewood left. The information booklet had lots of details about walks to take on the estate. Our stay was very tranquil. We have already booked to come back in a couple of months!

Peace and quiet with fab views (when the clouds moved away!)

Fabulous views over the hills and down the valley, quiet and peaceful. Clean, compact and very comfortable, no clock, no TV, no wi-fi and very poor mobile signal, an ideal place to escape the madness of modern life!

Stunning views, peace and quiet

We spent three nights in the Lapwing hut and loved every minute of it, especially the breathtaking views of the valley. The trails around the estate are easily accessible from right outside the door, and we spent the evenings and mornings watching birds and sitting by the fire outside the hut. Cooking was easy in the well-equipped kitchen. So glad we also made the trip up to Blair Castle (admission included with the stay in the huts), the museum was fabulous!

A hidden gem

Beautiful hut located in a gorgeous spot. Our stay had everything we needed including firewood for both the indoor burner and outdoor fire pit. There’s a perfect amount of privacy from the other Shephards hut so you really do feel secluded. Yvonne, the head housekeeper was lovely and super helpful. This is a real gem and I wish I could have stayed for longer!

Excellent, clean and comfortable hut. In a stunning and very quiet location with dark nights and lots of wildlife on the doorstep. Local walks straight from the hut with amazing scenery and wildlife.

Perfect countryside retreat

Staying at Lapwing was a dream. The room itself was clean and orderly, and while cozy, it was the perfect size for our stay and had everything we needed. We woke up to a pheasant standing outside, birds chirping, and beautiful green rolling hills. Check in and check out was super easy—clear email instructions that were simple to follow. No wifi, but who needs it when you’re in such a lovely location?

Fantastic, relaxing stay!

This is a great place to totally switch off and relax. The hut was well designed and had everything we needed. The stove fire was lovely to have as it was a particularly wet weekend! Thank you for a lovely stay, we will definitely be back!

Luxurious cabin in secluded location

Sweet cabin in highlands. Everything clean and well designed. Ideal for two people.Warm and very comfortable with fire place inside and fire pit and chairs outside. Customer service prompt and polite. Good shower and lovely bed. Luxurious experience. Thank you.

Beautiful place to stay

We loved our stay in Lapwing Shepherds Hut. Great location with beautiful views and we even had a visit from a deer and a grouse. The hut has lots of nice little touches and everything is done to a high standard.

Serene and Stylish

This was such a a great little getaway! We loved the hut- it was very clean and comfortable and adorable. They had laid a fire for us in the wood stove when we had arrived. The area was beautiful & quiet. A few things to note: the instructions on how to get there can be a bit confusing, there is no wifi at the hut, there are no instructions but there was a note to call if we needed anything. This was difficult since we did not have international calling ability on our network plans. Your stay does give you a free tour of Blair Atholl castle and gardens, but you have to tell them you’re a guest at the ticket booth. A welcome notebook with local info, event happenings, trails to walk nearby and stove instructions would be a huge improvement. Also, having a deck of cards or games to play while there would be a nice touch. This seems to be a new rental, so they are working on these details. Seriously book this little space- it truly was wonderful.

Amazing shepherds hut

We loved staying in the shepherds hut. It is really well equipped and although small has everything you need, including a flushing toilet and hot shower. The views are incredible and plenty of birds and wildlife to watch. Would definitely recommend and we will go back again.

A comfortable cozy quiet cabin in Scotland

I had the best time at Lapwing on Atholl. The hut is expertly designed with everything you might need and has really efficient use of space. Bed was extremely comfortable and the fire was so cozy and heated up the hut very well. The location is gorgeous with excellent views and peace and quiet. The stars at night are beautiful. If you are looking for somewhere to escape to for a few days for some time out, Atholl is perfect. Apart from the hut next door, I didn’t see a single soul. For time in nature, long walks and reading your book by the fire, this place is ideal. I didn’t have a car whilst I was there, which was okay, but do make sure you bring all you need with you as it is very remote. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Fabulous

This was our second new year break at the shepherds hut, yet again we had nothing at all to complain about. A fantastic place to stay, away from all the hustle and bustle off everyday life. The hut is comfy and cosy and the views are amazing, definitely recommend.
